Thank you for sharing the story of the legendary being, Jetsuen Mila Repa.🙏🏻 According to the Tibetan text, Mila’s mom and sister had not died after he came back from mastering black magic but in fact he learnt that his mom had died when he returned back from getting teachings from Marpa(Mila’s spiritual master).
Marpa's teacher was Naropa who was an abbot at the Nalanda University. While teaching at Nalanda Naropa met a Dakini who was disguised an old lady asked him many questions on Dharma which Naropa answered correctly said you have only learnt the bookish knowledge, not the experiential one or the ultimate one. To receive the experiential knowledge you have to seek master Tilopa. Marpa left Nalanda and headed toward what is known North India as at that time both Kashmir region and Bihar and UP were the great monasteries and gurus lived. The place is called Trilokpur, HP where Tilopa is supposed to have meditated. Naropa was also subjected to trials (12 major and 24 minor) by Tilopa before he was given the teaching.
And the story of Milerapa does it end with Milerapa being Marpas teacher? Why does every song of the hundred thousand songs of Milerapa go (paraphrasing) Homage to my teacher Marpa who is (enlightened)? What scriptural biography of Milerapa matches what was said in this video?

Repa (cotton clad) is the epithet given to Mila as he survived the bitter winter in Himalayan caves with just cotton cloth. In 1970s American doctor such as Herbert Benson of Harvard University has conducted the experiment on the Tibetan Buddhist monks who practice Tumo meditation were amazed to learn the ability of monks to dry the wet cloths on their bare bodies and increase body temperature in freezing temperature through Tumo meditation. Dr Benson is one of the earliest one to adopt Mindfulness meditation as therapy in the West.

If you choose to see yourself something else than human, you choose to see other people different. If you see other people different than you, as good or bad, you try to change the natural course. If you try to change the world, you eventually see that it can't be done. Everyone grows to be as their environment has raised them. Environment, culture and genes are depended on the whole world around it. Interfering itself is too based on the knowledge you have learned from someone. It is up to you, that can you find peace in that knowledge and leave things as they are. Everything goes with its own weight and has its own time. Observe and everything finds its place within you.

As the skeletons found there have hail injuries on their skull that too unexpected hail storm.
I think you need to learn the story of milarepa, milarepa was unenlightened and didn't know the power of the mind. So the milarepa revenge might just be an imagination of his mind without realizing it, and he was also known for "realizing" after he gained enlightenment.
It was not perseverance it was refusal of his own desire. He would have been happier sooner if he developed a better approach to the chores and other daily projects he was assigned to do.

Bro ,you are me and I am pain

Excellent narration. I have always loved Tibet. Feel sorry for their entire country for being persecuted by the Chinese. Love Sadhguru's compassion
that is bullshit !
Don't feel sorry..World needed their wisdom .It is all part of large scheme.
Pranaam Sadguru 🙏. I read about Milarepa ,tilopa Naropa lineage. It is so profound it left a deep mark on my soul.
That guru in India Sadhguru speaks of is none other than Naropa an Indian Tantric Buddhist Yogi and mahasiddha.
True! The kagyu lineage....
An abbot in the University of Nalanda you can see PETA Go Old woman. Tilopa corrects him.
And Padmasambhava too
Om namashivaya 🙏
I don't know what to say
But this story touched me so deeply
Just speechless
M glad our great culture is being spread and taught through the history of the great Tibetan yogi milarepa
One of the great narrations ever heard .... Thank you Sadhguru 💐🙏
Thank you so much Sadhguru for this particular talk on Tibetan Buddhism on Milarepa. Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for reminding us the story again as human we tend to forget . I've heard ,read and watch movies of the Milarepa but every time I think of it ..it touches my soul . 🙏
Movie Where? Dubbing could be done. Indian hero can act?
I was so interested and concentrated to listen to the story of Milarepa from Sadhguru. Obeisances unto him.
Thank you so much for posting this. The story of Milarepa is very near and dear to my Heart. I watched this a few times today and just cry every time I watch it... for so many reasons.
Thank you 🙏💜🌈✨✨✨
In AP too Ekkirala Bharadwaja Master translated it
Later A B Reddy did it- a penance of 40 years- according to him - a disciple of EB Telugu translations
@@ravisekharsridharreddynedu8538 thank you 🙏💜
Story beautifilly told.
8:13- the way sadguru puts it is...."this is a spirited man, he overdoes everything". No sadguru, he's a sinful man, guilty because of his deeds, and because of what he did in influence of his own mother, and peace is the first thing that left the building for him.
I could listen to his voice till the end....❤️
I love these lessons of yours, I am grateful to this human being for everything that is, and for u being who u are. I am grateful to have born in this era.
Sadhguru you proved that to tackle today's debating life we need calmness in us which is most essential to win anywhere and everywhere
Love you Sadhguru😍
I've been following Tibetan culture for the past few years and wanting to know about Milarepa. I heard somewhere that he was the only monk (the only person, in fact) who ventured successfully to the apex of Mount Kailash? Don't know if this is true but blessed to hear this tale from Sadhguru 🙏🙌
I have heard this story before but now I know this story never before. 👏
Sadguru Pranaam to your lotus feet. I don't know anything about Milarepa, but Co-incidentally I heard about Milarepa story from 2 important persons(One is Sadguru) in a single day. Its quite amazing incidence for me to recall it. Jai Sadguru, Jai Milarepa.
How come sadguru has soo much knowledge. He narrates soo well.
We need more gurus like sadguru.
🙏🙏🙏
Sadh guru ji, I am a Tibetan and in our narration of Jetsun Milarepa’s life journey, I have never heard milarepa going India. Yes, great Marpa ‘s guru were great Tilohpa and great Naropa from India.
May be he is wrong ,sometimes he also. Mentions wrong facts about indian stories also
If it is on or not on records does it really matter regarding the richness of the teachings? Very few are aware the famous Boddhidharma who founded Chen, Zen and it's likes in China and it finally was passed on to Japan, was from souther India?
Yes brother u r right...sad guru ji is a wise man..perhaps most logical being in India with such profound knowledged and wisdom...but..some of what he tell stories of Buddhism is not right....best part of Buddhism is we have our history got written...as the bond of teacher and student so immense and often resulted in enlightenment....written can't be wrong ...unless crooked to look authentic...in case if one does ..than one does not follow the principle of Buddha ...as one is not permitted to lie amongst many principles a Buddhist must abide by.... 🙏🙏🙏
It's Indian version
where do you live now?
Dharamshala?
Thank you so much for sharing! Peace and love for everyone YUPII!

Sadhguru Ji reminds me of my grandma in story telling. You are an Excellently Story Teller. Am currently reading a book where Milarepa occurs frequently so this is real synchronicity.Thank you. Namaste
Milarepa has gone through a lot of hurdles to get enlightened! Known to be the only person to get enlightened in one lifetime! 🙏
Infinite joy and gratitude for posting this story... only from SJV it sounds right and makes sense... Om Namah!

Oh!
This was so amazing. Life changing story🍃 I feel like I can be blessed big time after all the years that I’ve been sacrificing myself for my own personal and spiritual growth.
In resentment and degrading is the teaching and works out as grace too. What can be lost, is not you and what is beyond coming and going can not be possessed. THAT is already YOU. Circumstances will never matter. OM SAI RAM...
"Deep in the wild mountains,is a strange market place where you can trade the hassle and noise of everyday life, for ETERNAL LIGHT and BLISS."....Milarepa..
Follow SADHGURU with full faith and be happy..
Don't why tears in my eyes when sadhguru says ..guru becomes disciple , disciple becomes guru...

The draw to explain the stories in every story is really beautiful ,simple and unique .lt luv them . colorful and simple.❤️❤️❤️
Can somebody ask from sadhguru whether incident of milarepa's revenge by calling hail storm with tantric practices in any way related to deaths or skeletons found in lake Roopkund in uttrakhand ,upper Himalayan region.
Priceless parables of enlightenment. SG way of narrating is second to none.
Sadguru apke charno me koti koti naman
Loads of respect for India and Indians for protecting Tibetan Buddhism. Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing these things. I am so interested and have such respect for this knowledge, history and stories. Thank you
Wonderful narration by Adiyogi homself. He knows all. Pranam guru.
Naropa, the Marpa’s guru had similar hardships story while attaining the dampa from his guru Tilopa.
This is what is real perseverance. Highly inspiring...🙏🙏🙏
It was not perseverance it was refusal of his own desire. He would have been happier sooner if he developed a better approach to the chores and other daily projects he was assigned to do.
Milerapa is truly an amazing ascended Master.I am so drawn to him.
Have you read his Biography??
@@dorjedriftwood2731 Yes
It’s extremely touchy! Creates great respect for our guru. And also knew many things that were unknown to me. Thank you
I came here as I heard today of the story of how he faced his cave when he came home and it was full of demons.. is a hopeful story to me as I've faced demons at home since 2011.. and I've fought and failed many times.. his actions his way seems true.. I'm changing my approach.. I'm afraid still but I'm going to try.. it's very physical as well as mental inward, but hearing his life story is hope.. thanks for posting this filming!!
Sadhguru has given so many methods🙏
Thank you, Thank you! for telling that great story with such love, and pertinent detail! What a blessing it is to hear it from your lips!
