Another well done and fair comparison. Thank you. I needed this review to add to the others you have done already on these two firearms. I own the one and am working out having a few questions answered about the other before "pulling the trigger", as it were. 🙂
The 18 round magazine from my Rival fits/works in my MC9, as do all Canik magazines. About your "false wall". You never notice it when actually shooting, and it also smooths out and goes away after putting a bunch of rounds through it. Nothing against Mossberg, but the MC9 wins this matchup easily. Picked my MC9 up for 390 bucks.
Also, if you throw in a $60 rival trigger shoe, you will then have a better trigger than most poly striker-fired guns out of any class when it comes to conceal carry.
@@Itshimitshim I'm good with the trigger shoe on my Rival, but I think I prefer the trigger that's on my MC9 to stay on the MC9. Don't think I'd care for the Rival trigger on it.
Very honest review of these two pistols. I'm looking to purchase the Mossberg mc2sc with the slide bolt safety, since I will be carrying it concealed while doing vigorous outdoor exercise. Maybe my husband will purchase the Canik? Very nice pistol, like you commented the triggers are very nice. Thanks again for sharing your videos 🙏
I bought mine last week for MSRP but prices at other on-line sellers were at $500 to as much as $800+. Either very popular and in short supply or some are getting greedy.
Carried a .40 S&W for years but wanted something smaller for a Spring/summer EDC. My .40 is a Ruger SR40c coming in at 6.75” oal. At the time I was looking, the MC9 had not come out yet. Really wanted to get the SC9 but with it being 6.7 “ oal, I was only picking up .05”. Couldn’t justify spending the money for such a small difference. Kept my eye on things and had seen good things about these Mossberg’s. Finally found one on sale and I want to head and got it. It comes in at 6.25” oal. Then, of course, about six weeks later, the Canik comes out with the MC9 at 6.2”. I really like my Mossberg. However, that rail drives me crazy. Apparently they didn’t learn anything from Sig. I was, however, able to find a light for it that fits that type of rail. The Targon TGX - 33. Like I said, I love this Mossberg, but I still may end up picking up one of those Canix someday. Had I’ve been a little more patient I’m sure that’s what I would’ve went with. I did pick up the Mossberg for $379.99. So I can’t complain on that end. Around here in Central Ohio mechanics go for right about 400 and some change. My LGS and Range had a “Canik days“ over the summer and at the time they had them for $379 as well. Without ever having shot the Canik, but hearing great things about it and the trigger, I would probably give the edge to the MC9. Don’t get me wrong, I love the trigger on the Mossberg, but that silly rail of the Mossberg is a big minus in my eyes, and the aftermarket support for the Mossberg is very slim. Not easy to find holsters and they also went with the second most popular red dot footprint instead of the most popular. I hope it becomes more popular so more after market support develops with accessories and products. Good job on the analysis. This was my first firearm that I got without a safety and I was a little leery of it because I’m not used to it but after caring for a little over a year now, I have become acclimated to it and I feel comfortable and safe with the trigger being a little heavy ( comparatively speaking) on the first pull.
Your correct, I'd forgotten about that. I just checked out collection, we have a few very nice older shotguns. My husband has a few beautiful Beretta shotguns...... Works of art.. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the comparison video. I'm torn between these two options as my next CCW. Problem I'm encountering is that the MC9 is sold out online and I can't find one locally. My local store is having a sale next Saturday and if they don't have a MC9 in stock by then, I'm likely going to get the Mossburg for about $400.
I strongly suggest you watch the Canik Mete MC9 review Brett from Nightwood Guns made concerning the safety issues and the few negative things he found when firing it. From the video comments and on gun forums online, he is not the only one who has had major problems with this firearm. I for one, would never purchase this particular Canik model after watching his review. As for the Mossberg, if there were only more aftermarket accessories for that gun, that would be nice. Talon grips on both guns would be a major improvement because it appears the grip texture on both do not go high enough.
I do really like my mc2sc, but I am considering switching to the Canik just because I can’t get extra mags for the Mossberg. They’ve really been dropping the ball on parts availability since Covid started, and they haven’t bounced back.
I have had an MC2SC with the cross bolt safety for most of a year and overall it is a great pistol. However, I'd recommend something else if you want a safety. To bend your index finger IN then extend it on the draw is very awkward and unusual. Am replacing it with a P365X.
White 3 dot sights are virtually non-functional for my old eyes. I prefer black rear and fiber optic front. I rarely buy guns with 3 dot sights as I know I will have to spend extra money to change them out especially for my EDC.
Just say it not only overall CANIK is the best all round! 5.5 pound trigger for Mossberg compared to 3 pound for Canik says it all. Forget the rest even lets assume they are comparable which they are not!.
I cant stand the atrocious bore axis on the canik. holy crap the sights sit so freaking high , the slide itself is almost double the height of the other slides in this segment. also the mossberg rail works fine with olight clip on lights
Get the IWI Masada Slim and you'll be like Canik who? Glock who? P365X who? Shield Plus who? Hellcat who??? I've been carrying it for 5 months and all of my other micro compacts are jealous. It's simply amazing.
There are a few companies that have them now. Muddy River and I found two others and even one on EtSy of all places that is compatible with lights as well
Doesn't matter. The iwi massa slim beats both and even the p356 , hellcat. Iwi is not some Turkish junk like canik. When iwi releases a gun it's for a reason. the Masada slim is made in house now in u.s. , a lower cost $350- $420, the best trigger out there, dead on accurate out the box, easier to find, and takes cz extended mags which are everywhere. The canik mete is having problems and canik customer service is garbage when the gun has problems, and their spare mags are hard to come by.
“Turkish junk” lol ok boomer turkey is a leading firearm manufacturer with years of production with help of German engineering you have no idea what your talking about keep your baby killer iwi pistol
The mag sleeve comes off of the MC2SC extended mag and you can put it on the 15/16 round MC2C extended mag and have no gap
I have had the mc2c since 2020 and I have loved it..Great performance and reliability for a very light but sturdy compact carry option.
Love my mc2c and mc2sc
Canik has been putting out great stuff at a great price
Another well done and fair comparison. Thank you. I needed this review to add to the others you have done already on these two firearms. I own the one and am working out having a few questions answered about the other before "pulling the trigger", as it were. 🙂
Weight matters for me thanks for mossburg
I want both these pistols
I like the extended slide release as a concept. The Walther design is nice too.

Great video.
Great comparison great review I think the canik for me scared of Mossenberg don’t know if would hold up
I bought mine last week for MSRP but prices at other on-line sellers were at $500 to as much as $800+. Either very popular and in short supply or some are getting greedy.
I am a lefty and only like the slide release on the left side. With dual slide release, levers increase my chance for the slide not locking back.

I bought the Mossberg, nice trigger, slim, holds 13 rounds. Not bad for $250.
Between the greater capacity, adjustable back strap, ability to moumt a light, ambidextrous features, and lower price the Canik just seems better.
The MC series has the 18 degree grip angle / Canik does not
My dad has the Mossberg and he likes it. I have the Mete MC9 and a couple other micros. I like my MC9 so far. I will have to shoot his mossberg
Mossberg shotgun safeties have been a slide safety on top not a push safety on the side like the Remington. I do like your reviews though.
Your correct, I'd forgotten about that. I just checked out collection, we have a few very nice older shotguns. My husband has a few beautiful Beretta shotguns...... Works of art..
Thanks for the comment.
I have the MC2C and love it
Respect the channel ☝️always giving us good information ✊
would've been nice to compare how they shoot-- which is probably more important to know here than info we can all find on the manufacturers' websites.
Great comparison, very comparable. I'm curious as to which has the best trigger in micro 9's the Mete or the new FN that has internal hammer fire....
Thanks for the comparison video. I'm torn between these two options as my next CCW. Problem I'm encountering is that the MC9 is sold out online and I can't find one locally. Basspro has the canik for 399 i can’t find the mossberg for under 480 I’m torn between the two as well
@@SwagSo7fly7Bass pro has the Mossberg for $419
I bought my Mc2sc from buds for 289.
I have both and they are high class weapons 👍
Agreed, Canik blows it away, almost overqualified
Good review. You should throw the IWI Slim into the mix.
In my experience those slip on mag sleeves actually cause finger pinch. So, I will remove them and file them in the old garage can.
Thanks for the review ☝️ Canik for the win

The MC2sc I had was FDE.

You should still do a comparison video with the Canik MC9 and Kimber R7 Mako.
Did you mention that the Mossberg’s have a stainless steel DLC coated slide and stainless steel DLC coated barrel the accuracy is awesome
I like the mossberg

How thin is the Canik compared to the Mossberg? Also does a Holosun 507K mount directly to the slide or do you need an adapter plate?
I own both
What is the finish used on the Mossberg slide? I have never been all that impressed with Cerakote.
Nitride
White 3 dot sights are virtually non-functional for my old eyes. I prefer black rear and fiber optic front. I rarely buy guns with 3 dot sights as I know I will have to spend extra money to change them out especially for my EDC.
The mag well on the canik is very thin. Problems after 500 round for some. MC2sc any day..
Can the mags of mc2c works on mc2sc?
My Canik Mete MC9 two-tone was $399.99 + tax. $432.98

ehh, still needs a light rail. no point in having a firearm with an optic cut but no light rail.
Israel? No thanks lol
What good is a cantik Mc 9mm if you can’t find a freaking holster for it !!!
It comes with a holster and there are a couple aftermarket holsters available. Got mine from Muddy River tactical.
There are a few companies that have them now. Muddy River and I found two others and even one on EtSy of all places that is compatible with lights as well
@@oilyque I'm hoping Vedder gets on board and makes some, but they aren't showing much interest in the MC9 yet.
I found 2 the day I bought them, but I didn't buy it for what it does in the pouch, it's not called the "Glock Killer" for nothing,
The Muddy River Tactical holster for the MC9 is fantastic.
My optics ready mossberg cost me $311 otd.
Mossberg sells for $399 on a lot of websites..
Why would Mossberg put a crossbolt safety on this gun? Is it a shotgun??? Goofy.
I agree, but you can always get it without a safety also
Third!
Canik METE for the win!!🏆
Have you even shot one???
1st
I sure wish Walthe would answer in this segment, but they seem to be asleep at the wheel.
They’re working on it but they totally missed an opportunity. Hell even Taurus put out a micro pistol. Not too bad too.

Rather go with an American firearm with no reliability issues. As opposed to a Turkish gun from a country that vehemently hates Americans.
Right because Amerikkka is the most innocent country in the world.
How about some points for being American made. The Canik is cool but I can’t buy a gun made in Turkey. That’s just me.
