This would be really nice for punches and chisels. I like making tools. I've got too many forges now as is though lol. Nice review. I do get asked a lot about what I would get if I was just making knives, and I might refer them to your review of this one.

As an employee of atlas knife and tool I have to say that this is our highest value atlas forge the thermal couple and multimeter do not come standard. They have the ability to achieve a forge welding temp with out bricking the front but it does take longer to get there.

I can without a doubt highly recommend the Graham forge, which is bigger and has forced air. It's a bit pricey, but it's had no trouble over the past two years of my ownership. It has no problem running on little amounts of psi for small stuff like s-hooks, and can do just as well with more psi for things like plant hangers. It's also pretty efficient for producing heat with small amounts of propane.

New subscriber. It was a pleasure meeting you at the @Barr Run Forge gathering. I look forward to checking out your channel. Up to this point @Barr Run Forge was the only forging channel I watched.

You are absolutely correct about the man behind the company being able to help sort any issues you may have. I personally have asked a few questions about different products and he was able to shed some light on the information I was seeking. Atlas is a great company and I always look forward to seeing what they are coming out with next.

It is a decent little forge. its the one I use mainly though I am looking at a larger one. the only real issue I have with it is the size...which is fairly obvious when you are buying it. But was a great little starter forge.

I have one of the larger Atlas firestorm single burner forges. It's only a little more expensive than this model. I've been using it for a few years now. It's about time for me to reapply the zirc extra refractory coating.
    I have no complaints.

Thanks for the review. Looks like for the most part it's designed pretty well for the specific use it was designed for👍👍.

I have had this forge since 2020, and the only bad thing i will say about it is its size. Which i knew buying it but if you want to do more than make knives you will quickly out grow it. But besides that it has been an amazing 1st forge, im now looking at the firestorm 2

Since it has a smaller area than the Mr Volcano , would that translate into savings on fuel? Maybe that savings could pay the extra over some time?🤔

It does save on fuel by a considerable amount. You can get up to 30 hrs of use on a 20lb tank depending on how much you regulate your heat

"K-type voltage to temperature chart" for higher temperatures vs what the dmm will read :)
