Very good job giving instructions, I'd ordered the Milescraft door jig yesterday and now I'm going to order the Craftsman jig. You made it look so much easier when using both of them. Thanks for taking the time to do the video!
I just bought the Hingemate 350. I’m not sure what the deal is, but my latch plate template wants to be slightly off center on a 1 3/8 door. I’m not entirely convinced it’s a good system yet. Good video, though. It’s certainly better than the instructions. The only thing I prefer to do differently, is use a Forstner bit on the latch hole in the jamb. I don’t like drilling completely through the jamb, as I was taught it makes for a weaker jamb. Plus, a flat bottom hole just looks better, IMO.
Now that you mention it mine may not be dead center but with the variations in products I didn’t put much thought into it and it didn’t seem to cause any issues. Also I agree with your comment about the latch hole. That does make a lo t of sense. I haven’t been to concerned with it weakening on an interior door but your right it does look better. Thanks for watching, commenting and please subscribe.
I guess there’s a chance it could work better with a high speed electric drill but I don’t know. I would like to think they tested before going retail with it lol. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!!
So much for the Hinge Mate Demo! He'd done teh hinges before the video began!
