For the hair masking clipping issue, can't you just make a large surface area that encompasses the entire face and is set to multiply. Then have the large surface's masks as ALL the individual hair shadows. and said hair shadow strands are set to 0 opacity?

Stupid question for the transparent one, but can't the transparency also be lowered in some kind of parent setting of the whole sleeve to have the children layers of the sleeve pieces be transparent in a way that doesn't make the overlapping parts and void fills stand out? I am sorry that I am still too new with this program to say the terminology properly or describe what i mean very effectively, but hopefully it made some semblance of sense. I am not saying the video is wrong or incorrect or anything, I'm just asking because I am curious.
