- Welcome to my second travel vlog from the vibrant city of Bhubaneshwar, the capital of Odisha, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and ancient temples. In this video, I take you on a journey to explore two of the city’s most iconic yet mystical landmarks: Sri Parsurameshwara Temple, Lingaraj Temple, Udaygiri and Khandagir Caves and more...
First we headed to the majestic Lingaraj Temple, a 11th-century Shiva temple in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This ancient marvel is a testament to Kalinga architecture, featuring intricate carvings, stunning sculptures, and a 55-meter-high temple tower. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple complex is a revered pilgrimage site and a must-visit cultural landmark in Eastern India.
Next, we head to the ancient caves of Udaygiri and Khandagiri, two adjacent hills in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. These 2nd-century BCE Jain rock-cut monuments feature intricate carvings, sculptures, and inscriptions, showcasing the region's rich cultural heritage. Udaygiri, meaning 'Sunrise Hill', boasts 18 caves, while Khandagiri, meaning 'Broken Hill', has 15 caves. Together, they offer a glimpse into the lives of ancient Jain monks and the region's fascinating history.
Next we headed to the revered Shree Parshuram Temple, a 13th-century shrine dedicated to Lord Parshuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, this ancient temple showcases stunning Kalinga architecture and features intricate carvings, sculptures, and ornate decorations. The temple's serene atmosphere and historic significance make it a must-visit destination for devotees and history enthusiasts alike.
At the last, we had visited the most famous Nandankanan Zoo in Bhubaneshwar. However, it was Sunday and there was so much rush, so, we couldn't explore the place much nor we could record it. Remember, at Mondays, the Nandankanan Zoo is closed.
Whether you're a traveler, history lover, or someone curious about Odisha's culture, this vlog will take you through Bhubaneshwar’s lesser-known yet captivating treasures.
