The Avengers Deleted Scene - The Cop & The Waitress (2012) - Robert Downey Jr. Movie HD
Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. brings together a team of super humans to form The Avengers to help save the Earth from Loki and his army.
All these people all hyped up for being in the movie only to be cut out
Bomb La Tour at least
Had the same thought. Came here to Ashly...
It happens more than you think so they are accustomed.
@Bomb La Tour Once. No residual money if you're not in the final product. Which blows because on a movie like this they lost out on tens of thousands of dollars of residuals. Residuals = money earned when a movie airs on tv, rented or bought in iTunes, on Netflix, etc.
@@buffbanana15 Do the below the line types even get residuals?

Exactly, the whole scene looks like its shoot by Sam Raimi.
And that's probably why these scenes were cut. Ultimately they changed the tone of the movie and didn't add much to it, so they probably realized these could be cut during post production.

honestly, those "non-hero" scenes would have made the movie much better. the humvees rolling up, actual military taking action etc, not just pure focus on your heroes. would have made their actions far more heroic.
Cuts were probably made for time and a tighter story.
Something that would made it more like transformers, the military also doing the job covering fire for civilians to evacuate
Nah, it's that kind of scenes which looked unnessesary in Wiedon's Justice Leauge
@@0NaiveDreamer0 Looking back from Josstice League, Joss does have a habit of cutting out things base on his personal taste. Avenger 1 and 2 have shitload of deleted scenes that should ve been left in. Like this guy is borderline obsesses with making colourful kids movie, TV shows and cutting movie down so it has more run time at theaters or to please his own imagination. Now I can see why Marvel was done with him after AoU and being the company that pioneering pre-vis, they have to do pre-vis so production is tighten and directors won't be able to insert their stupid changes.
It probably would've made the movie a bit darker, especially the scene with the officer getting shot; I feel like they removed it because the entire tone of Avengers (bar Coulson's death) is super upbeat
These dark scenes would have supported fans to understand Iron Man's stressed life after...

Roman Quattrini Nuñez It's because the movie is a Captain America movie. Smh these Cap fans are a bunch of dumbasses
It would have made an interesting short film taking place during the battle from the civilian's perspective
Nah it would have changed the tone of the movie.
Go figger Yeah, it would have taken away from the action scenes. It would have been good, though, in a sense that it would make the whole attack more emotional. Which is exactly why it was taken out - we're supposed to be focused on how awesome the Avengers fighting together are, not on how terrible, serious and scary the attack of aliens invading was for the normal people.
best
*****
how would it take away? I said it would be nice as a short film, seperate from the actual movie
*****
yes but I'm saying they could have made a seperate short film, like a one-shot type of thing, perhaps entitled "Battle of New York" and could focus on the civilians and their experience during the battle while the avengers are in the background do their thing. I'm not saying it should take the focus away, thats what the actual "Avengers" movie is for. I'm talking about a seperate little short film detailing civilians experience, their fear, their attempt to survive the ordeal.
Huh...I actually liked the scene with the waitress. She noticed all the remains of the previous 'executed' people. There is a sense of horror and realism which adds gravitas to the entire invasion.
jack ryan Alas, stuff like this gets cut and we get the interview of that fucked up Asian kid who couldn't stop imitating those COOL HERO MOVES AND EXPLOSIONS OMG ISN'T THAT FUCKING AWESOME.
I mean, god damn it, I'm actually tearing up right now. Seriously, in real life we get shooters who get gunned down by police even before they can actually kill anyone, and that's still rightfully considered a tragedy and the neighborhood needs weeks and months to reel back from it. In this universe half of Manhattan is blown up by lasers and hundreds of people die, and yet the kid (who was clearly inside the city and witnessed the battle, not just another person in the country who was grateful the the Avengers beat the aliens back) had the gall to treat it like it was a video game?!
The should've kept at least this scene, it's very good.

Although the cop scene would be better being left out, the scenes with the waitress would've been a nice touch. More of a human element added into the scope of a horrible event.
Yes I agree
True, in the final cut the city looks totally deserted.
I agree, but then they also have to put back the earlier scene with Steve at the cafe where that waitress was working. She pauses coming out of the bank because she recognizes him.
Because... the cop isn't also a human..?
I think the final cut leaves just enough
These scenes make the whole invasion much darker and more serious right?
sebo641 Yeah I agree these scenes were needed. The whole final fight felt too much like a comedy.
Richard Grayson I got a MoS vibe from these scenes and I really dig it.
This is a sad disadvantage of movies. Books can take no-name passersby and let them do awesome things or look at the scene from their perspective, but making a movie is more expensive and so much more limited by the budget and the time. It's sad, but at least we got the old man standing up (literally) to Loki.
sebo641 probs why they cut it. Look at the backlash MoS got for its battle even though these scenes are needed to show the sheer brutality of powers.

Noticing the remains of the previously executed group makes the scene much scarier, which makes Captain America's rescue of them so much more impactful.
Here these people are, about to die at the hands of an alien army, but then a guy with supernatural abilities comes in, fights off the aliens, and gives you the chance to escape.
I wish this scene had been in the movie. It proves how heroic the Avengers were in this movie. It also shows just how dangerous it was for everyone during the attack and why that waitress was so grateful to Captain America.

While these are good scenes, I think they should've kept these as deleted scenes. It's way too long and it's only dragging the watchtime longer. And also, it doesn't even feel like an Avengers movie.
@@sneakytom7416 not really
I feel the civilian aspect of this really gives a new perspective to the movies. I know that Civil War addressed this about superheroes and the impacts they had on society, but they didn’t directly show them from the people’s perspective, like these scenes did.
It really brings you more into the world when it’s not just from the perspective of the Avengers, etc. And I think this perspective makes the movies feel and lot more real and terrifying. I understand that the mood was a bit dark, and the tempo contrasted maybe too sharply with the rest... but I feel like this would have been useful footage for showing the actual repercussions of the attack (not just heroes running around getting hurt, but also a lot of civilian casualties). It's too easy for me in the audience to just think 'but everything was ok, and somehow there were few to no casualties, and little long term damage, and wasn't Tony grand'. Scenes like these force me to realize that all the big shiny explosions come with a price for these characters, and that all the property damage in the world would be worth it to get these people out alive. These deleted scenes (including the one when the waitress meat Steve for the first time) had made a far better connection to what is actually at stake, and for what and for whom we suffer, bleed and, at times, die.
And that is was a common effort: not only super heroes but also police, army, and even civilians.
That's what I believe Marvel Television did so much better. Not a dig on the films, it's just that they don't have 13 - 23hrs to do it
the waitress should have been Steve's girlfriend instead on agent 13
Your face, nigga.
+Legendary Niwatori what????
+christian emmanuell This is what I thought too. I actually like the waitress...
christian emmanuell I said, Your Face.

So the movie could had more darker tone than it had in its release. I wish they did stick with some of the scenes, to show that not only heroes were fighting and that casualties did happen all the time. I guess with Disney on top, they are not allowed to do these kind of scenes.
scenes are generally deleted because they don't move the story along.
***** your just making it obvious that's a copied post this isn't even a trailer.
richard courchene
Not evry sean HAS to move the story along.
MechaniclZ every character has to have an arc. there has to be conflict in every scene. dialogue has to sound realistic and not forced or laboured. the audience has to care about the good guys, hate the bad guys and for all that to happen every single scene has to move the story along. If a scene is static, audiences will lose interest.

I remember some scenes in Spiderman movies that showed non-main characters helping the heroes, and I loved those scenes. Also in Man of Steel those scenes were pretty nice.
Cop: "Get the guns. The guns are very good."
The NRA approves this message.
I'd take one of those guns myself in a Chitauri invasion. Wouldn't you? ;)
That cop is Chief Sousa from the Agent Carter show on ABC
Phew I thought I was seeing things.
That's what I was think *****
Captain America: Can you do anything with this? (tosses cop the gun, which overloads teleporting Sousa back to 1947) Oops!
What I thought! xD
lol the actress mustve been pissed all her Oscar worthy scenes didn't make the cut XD
Gag me with a spoon Mrs. Henderson!
I got this reference.
Gag us all with a spoon, Gail...
The saga continues...
I'm so damn happy I scrolled down far enough to see this comment.
now that we know sousa has time traveled with shield.... it just might be him as a cop!
Steve being true American: “the guns are very good”
He didn't say that, the cop did
Joy P oops
@@dannyzero692 You had just watched the video how did you mix that up? Lol
Still gets 238 people to agree with his statement even though it’s completely false...
Austin That’s how being a Republican works didn’t you know?
So is no one gonna talk about how shitty that line was when the cop said “The guns are very good”?
Not really that much different from the regular humour in the MCU.
Like when Thor sees Hulk in Ragnarok he says, "Hey, I know that guy from work!"
I say it's fine IMO.
Anxious Earth I actually respect that Thor line! One of the kids from make a wish was on set and told them to add the line... they did it for the kiddo
Anxious Earth I don’t think it was bad humor I think it was just bad screenwriting. I think the jokes in the MCU are usually pretty funny
Alondra Villicana I agree! That is so cute!!
What else was he supposed to say? “If you find any weapons from downed enemy combatants be diligent in its retrieval. Their superior fire power will assist us in turning the tide in this hostile invasion. Go with god, brothers, and fight on!”
*Deadpool* - So dark...You sure this isn't from the DC UNIVERSE!?!
no u
Zack Snyder's DCEU is much more darker than those deleted scenes
@@marcusmullings9261 its a joke
@@silversoul9661 your whole family including yourself is a joke

So basically every scene with Ashley should've stayed in the final cut.
It's amazing how much of your principle photography can be lost on the cutting room floor
well that has to be frustrating i mean you get a role in an amazing movie and you have some short scenes and then when you're at the movies you found out most of them have been cut.. not so great (but anyways i'm glad they deleted them)
Adding those scenes in the movie would show the civilians' perspective more and it would be great :)
Looks syfi would not fit with the movie
@@slutwagon4270 you know it is Syfy superhero movie's is syfy
I love the more personal perspective on the battle that you get from these scenes. Also, having crowds of people being held prisoner by the chitauri actually explains what the chitauri were trying to do during the battle. In the film, it just seemed like they were running around and occasionally shooting people. And I like how the one chitauri wasn't wearing its helmet, you get a better look at them.
Searches: Ashley Johnson
Me: sees this
Me: ELLIE
Holy Flip! Ashley Johnson?!
I know! Ashley Johnson!
She wants him and who can blame her he's pretty handsome.
How would you know, you're blind
***** Accessibility options. Can't beat 'em.
Holy shit... After all these years I watched that show once... And I remember that one character lol ... I should have no idea what you guys mean but somehow I do
***** There are plenty of speech recognition programs, and there are plenty of people to type for her.
Wait up.. Hold on a second..
Is this why Ashley was gone from Critical Role for so long? So they could cut out all her scenes..? 😒
Sadly it happens all the time in movies. You shoot more than you need, and in the end cut whatever doesn't work out. It's not uncommon for people to get entire ARCS of their acting cut out.
Avengers released in 2012. Critical Role started streaming in 2015. It's Blindspot that's been stealing her.
@@Subcinercius What they said
Yes... ashleigh johnson travelled back in time to 2011 to film the avengers to get away from critical role...
Lucky for her as she was filming this she also got a pretty minor role in this little indie game called The Last of Us.
1:26 This theme reminds me of that in the beginning of Infinity War
Now this waitress is working with sif in newyork FBI office.
