thx m8 - helpes alot - what I tend to see, and what frustrates the h*** out of me in this game is the spin model... to me, it doesnt seem to be a constant when you do the "not full shots", some times it runs out, and other times is has backspin… I do play golf IRL, so I do know the fundementals, but it doesnt seem to make sense to me, either the system is flawed (I dont think it is...) or there is some variable that I do not consider… … oh well… GC2019 is in the horizon and its going to be totally rewritten, so I'll manage :) this 2-part guide is helping for sure :-) my elite controller is going to survive (y)
The lie has a lot to do with it. Chips from the heavy rough won't bite as much as off the fairway. Quality of the swing also changes things as well. If you don't swing with a perfect/perfect tempo it affects the shot quality. Landing zone slope affects the chip as does the hardness of the greens. Green speed will affect roll out. When you factor in all of those things it makes it difficult to predict but I think I can safely say that none of the results are random, it's just a matter of knowing what factors are in play and identifying the mistake you made and learning from it.
At 10 min mark that shot you tried was needlessly over complicated. A 30 yard flop shot, maybe slightly delofted, would be perfect. Trying to hit half shots is just bringing in too much margin for error.

Thanks - haven't really been paying attention to when the backspin kicks in reliably and when not. Will keep an eye on it
