  • Julia and her 22-year-old daughter, Olivia, claim Olivia’s newborn daughter was taken away from them illegally. They claim Jyllian, the woman who adopted Olivia’s daughter, promised to provide them with pictures of the little girl and the opportunity to be part of her life, but they say she hasn’t done either. Jyllian says their claims are outrageous and that everything about the adoption was legal. She says in the past few months things have gotten out of control, she obtained a restraining order against Olivia, and that she lives in fear that they will kidnap her daughter. Can Dr. Phil bring peace to this situation? (2214308RR)

I think it's just the side effect of ripping the child away from her Mother so early that she developed some separation anxiety issues, like adopted mom said at the time in her little mind, adoptive Mom was her Mom. This isn't her fault but the fault of the system for separating her from her Biological mom at such a young age, now she's scared that she'll be separated from her Mom again, her adoptive Mother should have gone with her to drop her off maybe.
I am confused as to why she went on vacation, and I hope to heaven this isn't one of those cases where children are being pimped out. But the fact the bio mom also had another child again in her situation does make me raise my eyebrows, I'm guessing a lot of time has passed since then and the babies are no longer babies since Bio Mom said she's in college now. Both parties kind of seem a little suspicious, honestly. But I think I can understand the biological family's situation a bit more because even if they were in a terrible situation, they were trying to improve, they should have received help instead of having their family ripped apart. That causes mental issues and whoever called social services ... it was probably a friend or a friend's parent or something who didn't like them. In the end it was their questionable actions and habits they couldn't quit that raised the flag and got the whistle blown on them. They can only blame themselves. I get their panic and fear of the safety of their children from never having to see them. Since there are cases where adopted children are sold off or pimped out- it's super sketch she went to Las Vegas with kids even if she is more composed than the Grandma and Bio Mom, and why is she smoking and drinking? I get certain normal families do this but I still don't get why people who adopt don't just try to be the best version of themselves. I also question her choice to adopt the child instead of fostering her as well though honestly. It makes me wonder what is being left out in the story.

The bio mom was 16 years old and she appears later in the episode. The lady with the blue eyes is the foster mom who ended up adopting the baby and raising her until this point. The other lady is the grandmother. The bio family was trashing the foster mother online and wants to undo the adoption, which would be totally unfair to the child so the foster mother doesn't feel comfortable having them see the baby anymore. @@paulinewoods375 sometimes there are no issues at ALL only accusations. There needs to be a neutral unbiased oversight of EVERY CPS investigation and there needs to be CPS and state penalties for each case in which the child does not go back to their real family. It is a very rare situation where they actually do a search of the entire family up to and including third cousins for a guardian. It is not appropriate to legally traffic kids. There are tax incentives federal funding , adoption stipends, food stamps and all kinds of community support for yanking kids and no incentives for returning them to their families. Most of to the stuff these people use to evaluate abuse or neglect can be highly subjective. My house was cleaner than the visitation center, and there were no drug or alcohol issues, and I had a job and a car and a roof and electric and water on and no evidence of abuse or neglect except for hearsay and my nest was robbed. The other thing is that mandated reporting needs to be changed to if I have evidence of abuse not if I have a suspicion of abuse. It should be an F1 felony for a false report meaning any report that you can't prove. And any unsubstantiated reports should be off of a families permanent CPS record. And parents should not be penalized legally for not signing over their kids the second they have a CPS case in dependency court to where the second you have another baby the state is notified the second you give birth to where they can yank that one too just because you had a prior CPS case and no other reason.
