Thanks for this! This is my family hometown, since 1848. I love that others love it too! But you missed the Micanopy Museum. Come back!

I have lived around High Springs and Alachua Florida for about 27 years, raised my kids here. You should check out High Springs, Fort White and possibly Alachua. Fort White is home to the Itchetucknee Springs Sate Park and the tubing capitol of North Florida. We have the lovely Santa Fe River and lots of great springs like Ginnie Springs, Blue Springs. Poe Springs and lots more.
From the Santa Fe River I can take a small boat and go up to the Itchetucknee River and springs, to Ginnie Springs etc., or I can go further to the Suwannee and all the way to the Gulf if I want.
It's better in the summer when the springs are popular, but any time of year is nice up here in Fort White.

"I'm not eating barbeque from a gas station" became a stop on every trip down to the Florida Keys - I believe it's Pearl County Gas station/barbeque in Micanopy - unbelievably great!!!!!

I lived in a two story farmhouse here in Micanopy off a dirt road. I had an outdoor shower and bathroom! I lived there while attending college in Gainesville in the early 70's. It was nice and quiet and years later visiting it turned touristy and the farm house was torn down. It was beautiful with natural springs and an abundance of wildlife, very different today. Paynes prairie still very nice.

I don't think we have ever been here before. I can't believe this is where Doc Hollywood was filmed. When we saw that movie years ago, I said I would love to live in a small town like that. We will definitely have to check it out. The bed and breakfast is beautiful! We love old cemeteries too. Great video!

As a Canadian snowbird, you do a great job vocally and nice videography, editing, etc. 90% of RUclipsr/travel guides have an ego and their videos are amateur, etc. You are my 'go to guide'. 👍

Lol That’s the landmark off 75 so we remember to get off at that exit when I had to go to a prison to drop off a prisoner a time or two. Too funny pigybak!!!

Cafe Risque - see strippers and eat buffet - just don't stop at the hotel on the other side of the interstate - Guess they fixed that place up since I had the misfortune of staying there years ago..... They had a sign that if you had been in the room for 10 minutes, you couldn't get a refund - thought it was used as a prostitute hotel at the time......
