literally on the verge of becoming an authortuber because of how inspiring you are, love you ana
do it! I think you'd be great. :D
^^ i agree 💯
You should! I would watch your videos 100% and I would love to see what books you have ideas for!
@@xsailing_scoriax aww!!
Honestly same :D
The last time I tried to write a draft for a book it took me five months, HAHAHA. I mean, I wasn't writing every single day but still. And I agree about writing when you actually want to, it's OK to stop if you really don't feel in the mood because there's difference between trying to carry on despite lacking energy a bit and feeling so terrible that you write "the" and think it looks absolutely horrific.
5 months is good I spent six years on a 20 000 word first draft that is still not finished and it probably never will
I've been flirting with this thought and was watching different methods of pumping out books and getting your book ideas down. There are always common denominators (so I'm gonna break it down for you):
1. Set a daily page/hours writing/planning goal and schedule yourself to write that many pages/hours. When you do this make sure you are sticking to it, have a friend or some close family become your coach to motivate you to get things done. (My goal is ten pages everyday, only on weekdays. {I don't necessarily stop writing at 10 pages, but if my mind isn't there I'll give myself a 3 hour planning period instead.} It sounds like a small amount, but by the end of the month I'll have written over 200 pages.
2. Write. You can be working on six different projects, just keep writing for that allotted goal you wanted to hit.
3. Bask in the glory of your completed work and start on the next.
I would recommend starting by writing a paragraph of the story ur thinking about and then plan it out using Ana's method and then start writing
Quality is better than speed. Imagine, you write a book. It’s shitty as fuck! Tell me who’s going to read it? No one! It’s not worth it! Take your time.
that one spongebob scene lmao
BABE GIVE IT TO US NOW HELP A GIRL OUT IM STRUGGLING 😭
I love how you help writers not to make the same mistakes as I did. writing a zero draft of Nightwalkers took me like three years. now I realize that zero drafts are telling the story to yourself and you have to start over again with draft one.
I'm not a zero draft kinda person, but my chapter outlines are specific and direct enough that I know the content and atmosphere of each scene. For me, if I'm writing a scene that's tricky and hard to get through, it'll demotivate me quickly, and those are the only times I'll write when I don't want to write because I have to.
not me procrastinating on writing my book by watching this lmao
Girl your videos always help me and you are honestly the best! Also do know that we all want to read your books and If you publish one we are all here for it. Anyway Love you and thank you you 🥰
Ahhh YES. I was so impressed by your nano last year, Ana! It helped me so much in my own writing! Loved the vid :))
tips listed in chronological order because I like lists:
Tip 1 [1:42] track your wordcount:
+ Helps you keep on track and see where you're going
- From my personal experience this may burn you out or demotivate you though. To each their own! Try it out, if it doesn't work, don't force yourself to continue
Tip 2 [2:18] write when you want to:
+ If you write while not in the mood it's more likely that the product won't be great.
- I recomend watching the whole portion talking about this tip
Tip 3 [3:03] find writing friends
+ Super motivating and helpful
- nothing negative about this. find writing friends asap
Tip 4 [3:34] think of your book's end
+ helps you know what to do when writing (where to go). Also motivates you to get to that point quicker
ADDITIONAL TIPS [4:59]:
> having a plot you're excited about/think is amazing
-------> My personal add-on is that if you don't find the plot interesting, your readers won't either, and no one's happy. Write about something you enjoy, it'll make it so much easier!!!!! Can't stress this enough bro
> have a 0 draft [she has another video about this one, it's linked]
thank you, lovely
Normally I don’t mood write. Not because I disagree with it, but because usually what I’m writing doesn’t affect my overall mood. However, yesterday I was writing a short story. I wrote the happy ending first, because that’s what I most inspired to do. But then I got to the sadder beginning. And I decided to stop writing because the scene was really bumming me out at the moment and I had a party to go to, so I wanted to keep the vibes up. So I like the idea of not being a so strict with yourself and allowing yourself to not write when you don’t feel like it (as long as doesn’t become an excuse for procrastination, which is a slippery slope for me😅).
new fav youtuber, you've helped me so much with writing me new book so far!! you're an inspiration 😊
aww yayy! im so so glad!!🤍🤍
It took me almost a year to write my first book. You are so insprational!
A year is still pretty good to me! Congratulations!
This is an awesome video it has helped understand the general concept of writing a book. I gladly appreciated the content!
i actually started watching you you inspired me to keep writing this novel i'm working on! ❤❤
thank you for these tips!
This was so helpful thankss❤❤❤
Can’t wait
6:01 I am still so grateful to get to know that tip because seriously, even though I have just discarded 4 undone drafts at the beginning, at least I got to know where and how my story was flowing in chronical events :) My outline draft is onw of the things I'm really really proud of just because your fine tips!
Tip 1. 1:44 track our work.
Tip 2. 2:21 Wrte when you want to don't follow this)
Tip 3. 3:12 get writing friends.
Tip 4. 3:47 think of the ending.
Tip 5. 6:01 have 0 draft.
So dont waste time for 1st 4 tips go for tip 5 directly.
Man this is inspiring me to write a book and I’m not a writer! You just make it seem so doable! I mean don’t get me wrong it’ll take lots of work and focus but now it seems attainable!
ily Ana
thank you so much ana, im 12 and i would really like to learn how to write a novel. your videos have helped me a lot :)
I think I've just found my new favourite Author-Tuber
Ahhhh I can’t stop myself from having a un unique fantasy 5 book idea that doesn’t last and even better I can’t even plot it 😂💁♀️
hahahah
I did this and I finished my 800+ page book in a little over a month. yall this really works
Side note but I really love your shirt in this!
😮, YES TIPS!!
It's funny when you mentioned the video of your 1 day ploting I understood you immediatly. I also love watching Abbie Emmons but she is a MAJOR plotter so sometimes I get stressed out. I love Ana Neu because she doesn't make things overly crazy. I can't help be a panser but I know that I need to plot it just stresses me out.
Hey Ana, I am 9 years old! And I am busy writing a book called “The Gymnastics Café” And it’s been 8 months! And I haven’t had time to finish it, because of school. I watch your videos every night and morning before school. So I have my whole story planned out in my head, like a movie. But I’m 15 pages in, and it feels like I’m in the middle the middle of the book! And I am trying to process how on earth you did a book in 2 weeks! I have a question. I know this might be hard because the answer is probably just like “Use your imagination!” Which is kind of true, but if somehow you had any tips that would be awesome! Here’s my question. “Do you have any tips on how to think of ideas in your book?” If you read Ana thank you so much! You are the best!
I can't write when I'm in school😭, hate it when I have so many ideas BUT THEN I FORGET IT 😡🔥
Just open a google doc or something and write it down! I do that to when i have a great idea. It’s so annoying 😭
same but i write it on my hand so that i can do it when i get homelol
@@cococola5175
Just keep a pen and a bit of paper on you
Thank you :)
I’m making my first one I finished it and it took 4 days I did it wrong I think then should I re do it
Hi I'm new to writing. I have a question. How do you use nanowrimo? I've been trying to figure out how to use it but I can't seem to figure it out.
The ikea hourglass 🤌🏼
does anyone know to move the pictures on google docs i'm struggling on my character profiles
I love your videos! I was wondering, do you or any of the other lovely writers in the comments ever feel awkward or embarrassed about saying you like to write to other people? Because I do, so much so that I never say that out loud and when I do I immediately want to bury myself alive 🤦🏻♀️
Thanks for the tips Ana. I was randomly wondering how big of a gap your line spacing is?
tysm!! it’s usually 1.5 or double 🤍✨
@@ananeu thank you.
This. Is. Absolutely. Crazy.
guess who's on their last chapter before their epilogue? this kiddo here
I word vomit onto a page, when I go to type it up in my book document I fine tune it as I type up.
I’m word vomiting a new idea for my book and I need to write the plot and the characters but word vomiting means I can sleep better
Hello Ana! Do you publish your book online? If yes, where? 😁💕
Inosuke poster so real
Hopefully I’m not late this time 😭🗿
The thing is i will have to be able to have specific times to write cuz of school and i will have to study so ill try to do it in breaks and before school
Do you think a prologue is needed, for books that start with a main problem?dilemma?
No! But with most structures the climax is at the middle to the end. The problem can be set up early on
what' the name of the book ???\
do you have any tips for pacing in books? im writing a mystery book and don’t want to make the intro too boring but not to fast that the reader is literally being dumped everything on
would be a great video idea!!🤍but as for now: just make sure your book is getting quicker and quicker - however - allow for breaks and hiccups for the characters and reader to catch up!!✨
Could you link to us the book?? ;-; i'd deffo read it if you'd publish it!! But only if you'd want too thoo!!
ANA I HAVE A PROBLEM!!
I'm writing a book and i don't have much ideas for the beginning kinda part of it, though i have MANY ideas for the like middle part?? I do not know how to explain but basically i'm somewhat spoiling the book for myself and i don't know how to write my beginning!!!! Please help me!
I am the same way! I know EVERYTHING about the middle and end, but only the vaguest idea about the beginning! I would recommend asking a friend. That is what I did, and she is really helping! Tell me if you have any other ideas about how to solve this though! This is the only reason I have not started yet!
@@blazequestrian THANK YOUUUUU SO SO MUCHH 😭😭🥰🥰🥰
I wish I could find some writing friends!
I need to get some writing friends.
I’m currently working on my story called: Legends of Survival. It’s about a boy (me) who has an ice sword and fights monsters and stuff. There’s so much more but what do you think?
It sounds good
I can't make it it's the middle of the night where I am 😭😭
I can write a book in 14 days but the only thing that keep me from doing that is just laziness.. lmao
Looks like George RR Martin missed this video when it came out💀💀💀
Tip 5 confused me
You know you look kinda like Amanda bynes o.o
liar
bruh
So the title should be: "How I wrote a novella in a month". I love your videos but the clickbait is a bit ridiculous.
novella's are technically still 'books' just the same way novels are 'books' too. it depends what you call them i guess. but that's my understanding!!
That sounds like a you problem. Novellas are also books
Let's see, an18 year old with no life experience cranks out a garbage book in 14 days. Then she goes on RUclips and tries to teach others to do the same. Strange times.
im sure you learnt something🤍
Ana tell is it easy to write A Book cause I have A lot of ideas to write A Book 📖
