"As long as the tower does not fall over, we're cool."
Famous last words
And what if that whole coaster falls?
Last words of somebody that was in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001
@@JBSacayanan damn
i’d have smacked him for saying that 😂 don’t need him jinxing it
Not gone to make it🤔🙄🤔🙄
Too bad they removed It; it was the perfect analogy of vegas life... up and down, round and round with the promise of excitement that never delivers.
This is the best comment I've ever seen! I grew up in Vegas and rode this one time it was pretty lame
martyisabeliever why they moved it
Comment above: "...They took it down because it was causing structural damage to the tower itself due to unbalanced forces applied while it as running. The ride itself was quite safe as I rode it many times during the last few years of operation..." +the kurt`s place channel.
Damn. That's deep.
Lmao damn
As dumb as the coaster may seem, I really like the concept of it. Just because a coaster isn't fast, doesn't invert, or has a crazy drop, doesn't mean that it automatically sucks.
Thunder 55 True, it also classifies as a train ride
over 1000 feet up you show me another coaster at THAT time that was even as crazy as this idea.
@@dustyflair no thanks this if still up would be the only one I wouldn't get near.No way in hell
Does it have airtime? No therefore a mediocre coaster
@@jerseyhub9396 okay you seem like the one to ask so what's airtime?? Also wnat is meant by the term greyout. Example I went on that coaster and write is it went into the turn I had a greyout. I'm sure it only is coaster terminology. Thanks in ance advance coaster dude.
This was a fun ride to go on. Getting to ride a roller coaster that high was a thrill. It's easy to say "boring" when you only see a video. Now try actually riding it in person over 1,000 feet in the air. I will always miss this ride. Also I've been living in Vegas for 19 years (since people are saying how long they've lived here).
I rode it, it's very boring. Just like walking around a platform 1,000 feet in the air is still walking, this is still a kiddie ride.
The city should have let Aero build the fish hook coaster off of the side like what was originally proposed. In a town awash in trash and tacky, why the fuck they thought that would be an eyesore is beyond all comprehension.

I'm actually staying in the strat right now! I went on all the rides and was quite disappointed. The only good part was a nice view. I wasnt very scared at all on the Xscream or the Big shot, well none of them really, the spinning one just made my head hurt. Its probably much scarier to drunk people though lol
@@lizathyroxine only little kids need to tell everyone they weren't scared on a ride...
This ride is probably boring, but atleast these people have the guts to get on this. Do you people not realize the height of this roller coaster?
Its wicked boring, but the height is the scary part.
yes the roller coaster doesn't shoot up, so it's not really the highest coaster in the world. kingda ka is
No this was the highest coaster in the world
King da ka is the tallest
Nicholas Digristina It is you measure how high the coaster is and how tall the coaster is using diffrent methods
If you fall from 100 feet, you die the same as if you fall from 1000 feet. It takes no more guts to get on this than riding a traditional coaster. The fact that it is boring as hell makes it a waste of time. If you are going to die on a roller coaster, it should be a good one!
Hell no. I love roller coasters but no. You two are brave.
Beyond the fact that it's over 1,100 feet up, this really isn't much of a coaster.
+VestedUTuber doesn't really matter anymore, this ride got shut down at the end of 2005
+bracdude181 if it got shut down in 2005 then why are they riding it in 2011?
+TORI XD :P The video was shot in 2005. But upload to RUclips in 2011
+TORI XD :P The video seen here was shot in 2005. But uploaded to RUclips in 2011.
If I was standing there with the duct tape I would've responded with "I'm here to fix the roller coaster"
995 foot drop then 1000 feet back up????WOW WED BE DEAD!!!!
That shit is looks old and dangerous XD
Zivko That's why they took it down.
+Trevor Miller They took it down because it was causing structural damage to the tower itself due to unbalanced forces applied while it as running. The ride itself was quite safe as I rode it many times during the last few years of operation.
Zivko its new
It’s not they make it extra safe
The Kurt's Place Channel It also closed due to poor attendance
this roller coaster looks like its made out a low quality steel lol is it just me or do other steel coasters looks way smoother and cleaner looking.
Chay z it's situated on top of most likely the tallest building in America
I can't remember exact height
But the steel has to be lightweight to even get it up there in the 1st place
Chase probably because it’s on the top of a building and they want it to be extra safe
Unfazed Wolf haha this thing ain't even close to tallest in America
@@KeManYTyes True it ain't the highest building in the USA, but don't say it isn't even close because it is the highest tower in the USA and only 7 buildings in the USA are taller. It's also the tallest structure in Las Vegas.
Filthy Weeb oof
World's highest kiddie coaster. Dull.
lol yes
Its just crazy because its high, if it was really close ro the ground, thered be nothinf to look forward to
+PurpleChYeri it's still rubbish not matter how high it is the problem is the roller coaster itself
when they say the "highest" coaster they mean the coaster that starts up the tallest, not the coaster that goes they highest
here come dat boi! Was it important to you to state the obvious?
I don't understand why the distinction between highest and tallest is so challenging for commenters on this video to understand. Kingda Ka is the tallest. This one was the highest. Tallest means the roller coaster itself actually spans that height. This particular roller coaster is probably no more than 50 or so feet tall but is over 1000 feet high. Very simple.
TheMasterfulcreator Their will be a new worlds tallest rollercoaster in 2015-2017 something like that, in Orlando.
King da ka is a lame knock off of the top thrill dragster which was built first also top thrill only has a lap bar king da ka is booty
@@ansleyatkinson638 That didnt age well...
Yea Kingda ka is the tallest
I will just roller skate
This one made history, especially people whom were kids back in the 90s. Operating for barely a decade, a lot of people were in doubt of riding this and how it was difficult/expensive to maintain and everything. Compared to any conventional roller coaster, this one required drive tires in order to ascend for being built around the tower. I read this roller coaster had a few recorded incidents, including where part of the train de-railed and riders needed to be rescued.
Glad you got to take some videos of this before the RUclips days to archive that a ride like this actually existed.
I'm so sad that this was removed. If you're looking for something scary, the stratosphere offers more than one ride specifically with that focus in mind. The roller coaster, though, was a way for you to see all of Las Vegas with the wind blowing past you. Not necessarily a thrill ride, but still very fun!
The bloke @ 1:47 looks very much like a friend of mine who's passed away, his name is Charlie Treadwell and he was the greatest friend I've ever had. R. I. P. Charlie!!
God bless Hun, may he RIP!!!
J
RIP Charlie.
RIP Matt Damon
get out u Charlie or something
I remember going on this coaster back in the late 90's on our first visit to Vegas from London, UK. No it wasn't fast, but the height sure made up for that in sheer scare factor. Such a shame it was taken away.
Right, I'm really scared of heights and even watching it on a screen makes me scared and cringe!
Same here.
Same :/
Me too.
Not really scared of heights, could go on this - if it still existed. I've been on Kingda Ka.
Skylord kingda ka isn't even half the size of this one
Whenever I see something like this I think of the stress of the people who built it!
Around and around the building.
Why not straight down!
At the bottom?
I don't know, I'm not a coaster engineer.
+joel tailor i road a roler coster that was 305 ft in the air
LOL. When I first read this I said, well how in the good Lord's name would you get the cart back up to the top if you go straight down. Sure chain can pull it back up, but i was imagining you saying from the top to the bottom.
g'force will make your brain like a frappe and the blood will not be able to leave your brain
i wouldn't try that many chains. its over 1,100 feet up
and how will it stop ? you clever
Who else was terrified watching this
Meeeeeee
+erin rutherford meeeeee no way
Not me
Not even scary I think I would all asleep on that
you mean fall asleep
Im sorry but thats not a rollercoaster thats a train ride
I'm sorry to you but is it a rollorcoaster train rides go 10 miles for the track that rollorcoaster it about 30 feet of the tracks the whole tower is 225 feet
Gian-Marco Reyes Really, stealth is 205 ft ? and thats only 225?
***** 1150 ft tall Tower the coaster well it's just a helix.
it could be 1ft or 10,000ft off the ground its still a pile of shit
My dad took us there many years ago, scary because of the heights. Glad I got to ride it before they took it down, Thanks dad!
Enough of thinking this coaster is boring! I think it is nice. Just think of it as a decoration to the tower. Doesn't it looks cool?
Now it is removed. The tower don't look so special now. At lease the free fall and the rides are still remaining there.
You are so right
+Jakes Parkes Maybe his 'opinion' is that he likes this coaster. He's allowed to have an opinion if you are.
InsaneCoasterPOVs why did they remove it?
Seaglass the Seawing yeah why?? I wanna know too
I know, totally missed the red lights decorating the crown 😪
that does not sound safe at all lol
True that
Looks guys, i found a GP who doesn’t know how safe coasters really are
GP ALERT
SmileBullet haha
ask him if he likes his home slc
I rode it years ago, yes your on the side of a skyscraper dangling over buildings and traffic. It is not about the intensity of the ride but really being up that high.
"As long as the tower does not fall over, we're cool"
This ride is a pretty cool ride to begin with. Once they put it nearly 1,000 ft in the air, it's a lot different. The people who say it's not intresting obviously haven't been on it. I've been on it 5 times. It's awesome. RIP High Roller. I miss you. ;(
it looks like that caterpillar ride for under 5's
I know I've been on the caterpillar
Same, but in the form of a bulldozer.
It's on top of a fuckin skyscraper
Its on a fucking SKYSCRAPER. THATS THE POINT IDIOT
worlds longest helix LOL
***** sure? so i guess it they should cut the power while you're somewhere in the ride. who knows maybe you get the chance of enjoying a very good point to enjoy the landscape from that high, lucky there's no looping or you maybe remain upside down looking at the very small city down there
I believe you are talking about the Original Rattler at Fiesta Texas
@@RicardoManuelArana it's really unlikely to stay upside down on loop... Like reeeally unlikely 🤦♂️
It’s really scary because of how high you are and the Constant feeling of the tower falling or a huge drop on the ride
High roller: I’m the highest rollercoaster in the world
Cliffhanger: square up
OMG Ikr
If only the 700 foot drop coaster would open, would've been the tallest in history, even taller than the Skyplex coaster that was going to be built.
I rode it back in the day. It’s scary, but I thought the Big Shot was even scarier!!!!!
I agree. I rode this in the late 90s and it was ok. But the Big Shot you feel like you really get shot off the top of the building. That was an experience.
Thanks for the upload. I remember riding this back in 98. It was slow but being up so high and on the outer of the Strat made it interesting.
“As long as the tower doesn’t fall over we’re cool”
Earthquake: Bet!
Everything was fine, until A TORNADO OF SHARKS CAME BY AND KILLED US ALL.
Random but ok
Watch Sharknado 4
@@cherrywoodstudios385 oh ok
Did you know that the Sharknado video slot machines are real?
thanks for the video mate, showed it to my son, went on this ride in about 99, it was pretty new back then, vegas was way different back then!
I've ridden this before. Beautiful view of the strip at night!
This coaster actually looked fun and not intimidating as all their other rides.
1,000 feet in the air💀
for how much noise that thing is making with smooth round rails, i'd be freaking. i want my wheels snug to the rails. this kind of ride should be silent. it never is, but it should be.
I'm surprised many seems to believe this is tame. Many newer designed roller coasters are faster but not scarier. The rattling noises this piece of sh*t ride makes, and the sheer height of it all... If sitting on the outer row and perhaps in front looking at nothing but free air, coupled with the jerking and the mechanical noises, that shit is really scary. I don't trust that ride at all. I wouldn't go. But I would gladly go for example on the Ultra Twister in Japan. That thing is supposedly a lot more intense but it's as safe where a baby could ride it.
This was also safe. All roller coasters operating in stable countries are safe
I live here in Vegas and this seems like a boring ride but it's really scary bc your so high up in the sky, just being so high is scary, you don't even need to make loops or twists. it's pretty scary bc you think ur gonna fall off
My first time seeing the coaster was in 2006. Thankfully it was 1st & 2nd time in Nevada. 2006& 2007. Not for the faint of heart.
This looks like a bumby, boring ride. :/
Well they cant make loops or twists or anything because of how it's build on the side of a tower .
It's not about the ride its about the location
Its a very boring ride
On sea level, it's the dullest coaster ever conceived.
But it's not at sea level. It's 900 feet up in the air.
I know that it's more about the location, but isn't standing up on that tower satisfying enough?
Add a loop, a few superchargers, Corkscrews and then you'd have the world craziest roller coaster
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyscraper_%28roller_coaster%29 ;)
He can't he is not the owner of the roller coaster
Stereotypeblackguy yeah, if they did that everyone would die ;-; it’s on the top of a building why would it be an epic roller coaster?!
cupcakeees3 AJ because you’re a GP who doesn’t know how safe roller coasters are. Do you know how common accidents are? Around a one in three hundred million chance if it’s properly tested and built safely. A hotel this popular would without a doubt do the correct safety precautions if that were to be built. Hell if they had lap bars that’d probably be one of my favorite coasters
That's because Mr House is tired of the screams in his tower.
He just had the securitrons destroy it since it was so annoying.
Pepa pig
Explains why there's so much scrap metal lying around the new vegas strip
+Alex Gonzalez 58 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol, you're amazing
Yeaaaaaaa, fuck that lol
ifkr
+Ghostly Curse what mean kr?
That means I fucking know right
oh
Colin The Gamer baby
the scariest part is the view lol
To be honest; as a person who is TERRIFIED of heights... that ride would have scared the living lights out of me regardless of the speed.
Closed I'm not surprised
i'm not sure if it's the camera or what, but it doesn't sound safe, let along look safe
it broke down once, no one was injured but they removed the ride
Even though this ride doesn't look all that great it would be amazing just to ride a roller coaster that high off the ground and have that experience.
This coaster was taken down because it squandered its potential. The so-called highest roller coaster in the world has no loops, inversions, rises, and most surprisingly, no drops. You might even call it an above average speed train ride.
The hell are they supposed to do on top of a sky scraper
The last time I was in Vegas, c. '96-'97, the Stratosphere had just opened, and I heard about the rides at the top. One night, after more than a few drinks, I decided to go up there and ride the roller coaster. By the time I got up there, and realized we truly were 1000'+/- AGL, I chickened out. Now, I have no desire to go up there, and hang my ass out over the edge for the sake of what?
Nearly a decade later and I'm still getting anxiety from just watching this lol
People say, boring ride, it's sucks, it's lame. Ok this is the thing people, I've been there right underneath the rides and when they are on, the entire top part of the building shakes. I got on the x-stream and yes it's not that fast and it's short but to think you are that high and if something fails you are done.
That looks really unsafe and terrifying.
"High Roller Roller: we said it's the hightest roller coaster; never said it was the most fun"
I feel like I'm in the ride but I never rode it before.
Pidpie Deja vu. I just been in this place before!
As much as I like rollercoasters, nope , nope, nope!!
I can see why people found this ride underwhelming. Though it's a shame they closed it since it was quite possibly the safest ride on the Strat.
I would be SO scared that high
Is like the NASCAR of Roller coasters XD
lol
Bora Rossi Only this time you only turn right.
Bora Rossi Only this time you only turn right.
there was a casino called speed the ride at the Sahara and it was a part of the Nascar cafe but it closed down
Damn! How many G's did you pull on that bad boy?!
Lmao like 1.2. This isnt even fast
+LilJew96 pretty sure they were being sarcastic
Wow... This is the most boring thing I ever seen in my whole life...
Then you try
Scaredy cat
Neaxus Honestly, it wasn't meant to be fast or anything, but the sheer height is enough to be a bit much for many people. That was the purpose of it, where you can see all of Las Vegas far, FAR, below you.
you are sssssooooo correct
Me too....Almost fell asleep!!
0:22 Exactly my concern!.. every time!!
"We made it. Yaaaay."
I don't know why, but that's cracking me up! 😬
I was there in july-august 2014 and the people working there said it was taken down because there were bolts and screws disappearing they'd replace them and more would disappearing and they had no idea why! haha funny but probably good they took it down!
No because it was taken down since it wasn't popular like the other ones
The ride maybe boring but looking down is terror firing :-P
I think you mean terrifying
Yea sorry can't spell it lol
You can do that without the ride, and its a lot cheaper, to go on any ride at stratosphere its 15USD or 3 for 30USD.
Great video. Thanks for posting this. I loved that coaster and it was an amazing night ride as well. Have a nice day.
That's no roller coaster! It's a kiddie ride high in the air.
They should make one just as high but like the superman ride where you're just hanging from it.
XD heck no!
I rode this coaster…… and I have the souvenir photo ......I was so sad to see it go....
Wait, this look like the merry go round, except it's in a car type seat and in air...
Is that it?
"how exciting is this?"
"Aah... thrilling"
ERR: 'sarcasm.exe' has encounted an unexpected error
are pokemons up there ?
I've been on that.... only it wasn't 1000000 ft off the ground.
Speed up. Increase Length. Add loops. That's would be the scariest ride ever.
Dont see the point of making a rollercoaster that HIGH
I agree. VERY boring looking ride. Just the gimmick of being on the Stratosphere...
Tourists, that's who. Call it one of the many things to do in Vegas besides catch a few shows or gamble.
Payne, how many times in your life has your dumbass been up 1000 feet in the air while OUTSIDE?
I have ridden many rollercoasters and this one was most terrifying, this vid does not do it justice. Slow? Yes. Small hills? Yes. Rickety old shit looking 1200 feet down? YESSS!!!
Y does it say "closed"
Because it's closed
This looks like the most boring rollercoaster in the world....
+Jeric Studios Lmao you bitches say that until you see the height and old rackity shit that is the ride, this shit is older than fuck.
+Oogie Been on it. I'd still say the same thing after.
TomKnows Best That was dramatic.
"Smile for the camera and enjoy your ride"
Yeah of course I will :D AND OH FUCKING JESUS CHRIST
1:54 omg it broke i think
Nope , it is closed now so those are the parts.
why is it closed?
Ruby Gold They do not have enough money
Why did it close down?
A track came off and plummeted to the ground taking one employee with it. That was a scary ride.
Jayhawk Fan
That never happened.
not exciting enough....the only scary part of this ride was stepping off the platform onto the ride, because you could see down below...the ride itself was a snoozefest.
Cuz it sucked
I did this coaster a LONG time ago and it was FUN
This looks so boring. Cedar Point rules!
How does this have to do with Cedar Point
Cedar point fanboy alert
Frankyxrax this is on the edge of one of the tallest buildings in las vegas or was because i think it closed how is that boring?
Frankyxrax Weird how you said that then not even 2 months later some guy gets blasted by a coaster.
+Vendable Bow that guy was a idiot, dropped something and climbed over the fence and got killed, what a dumbass
Watching this brought on a level of anxiety inside of me that I never knew existed till now.
why is it closed
My thoughts exactly? Injuries or maybe not meeting the new safety standards? Hummmm
the ride annoyed thr owner of thr building with all thr screaming
Yea...ummm...fuck that shit.
you guys might say this is boring but wait till you get on it, it's super scary !! and the view is absolutely amazing, just in camera it looks ugly. Especially at night all the bright colors of the city look beautiful. So you guys should try this ride out first before you judge it.
That looks really boring.
Ikr
Yeah
Take a little kid on this, it just goes in circles but one other thing, it's 1,000 feet above the ground.
Too bad this one's gone. Riding it at night with the city lit up down below would have been spectacular.
People are bashing the ride for being boring. I'll stick you right on that ride if it was still here and say, "Have fun. Don't forget the risk of falling down 900 feet."
It's so sad that it's closed now. Yes, it may seem dumb or boring, but even so it's always fun to go on small or big roller coasters up extremely high in the air.
It may be up high but it just goes round and round like a merry-go-round. Now if it went into some massive declines that would be exciting.
The thrill factor was not there. Yeah it was scary being up high, but it was like riding a roller coaster at Knotts Berry Farm Camp Snoopy in mid-air
Im tired of seeing this... Just shut up already...
it's easy to say boring until you realize the camera isn't looking left to see how far up you are. 8I
never got the chance to ride this one.
