I do know, the folks from the North are very resilient yet the mind set has been so indoctrinated that it takes much care, kindness and patience for them to be set free, from their past. It's like a dog that's been caged all their lives... suddenly free... relieved yet looking around to see if they will be grabbed and put back in the cage. 😢🙏❤️

    i thought I knew what it was like to love another human being until my son was born. it was then that I truly understood what the word love ment and just how deep of an emotion it actually is. there is nothing I wouldn't do for him if I thought his life would be permanently better off for it. this mans father is the true definition of an unconditionally devoted and loving dad. god bless him for sacrificing his life to save the one life that he loved more than his own.

    I couldn't do it. If I knew my family would be punished I don't think I could live with myself. :( he was very strong. Also, we hear about how bad it is there, but it must be worse than what we've been told because I'm sure he didn't want to leave them behind. It's crazy something like this is still happening on the world.

      It's very bad. Almost everyone except the special people in Pyongyang live in very extreme poverty. Someone who escaped said that they would drink out of the rivers and watch dead bodies floating past from people who had starved.
      The government will kill you if you don't mourn hard enough on the past rulers deaths. They will kill you if you don't clap loud enough after kim jong un speaks. They will kill you if you don't have a picture of the 2 past rulers in every building. They will kill you if your house burns and you don't rescue the 2 pictures of the 2 past rulers.
      I have heard that if the special sports team that competes internationally doesn't bring home a trophy, they will go in the prison camps or be killed

      When someone escapes 3 generations are either killed as punishment or lifetime imprisonment of hard labor in a prison camp ... its a testament to how desperate families are that they still help their youth escape knowing the outcome for the rest of them left behind

      @zaingamingtv2242 I'm just saying what the escaped NK say both the military high and low ranks and civilian class that have escaped... they say that because they don't have access to outside media and what they do have is dangerous to get and get caught with as well as the fact that they have a whole regiment who's sole purpose is to spie on their own people and report ANY anti KIM rhetoric that most of the country doesn't know they are being lied to and they absolutely believe they are top of the tech and military food chain... most of the country is so steeped in KIMs godlike image that they really do love and feel deep patriotic pride in their country... its the ones who get glimpses and stuff of the outside that start to realize somethings wrong with the way they live... sometimes it's just a desperate need for food that makes them take rhe risk of the trying to reach another country even though many said they still believed that other countries beat rape and mass murder their own people like the KIm regime claims...

    You can see the pain in that boy’s eyes. Kudos to his father supporting his son, even though it most likely cost his life. I’m sure this boy will go to high places in life, knowing how hard everything was around him.

    Everybody's talking about dad's sacrifice but no one's talking about the son's selfish acts even though he knew the consequences his family would've had to face. I'm trying my best not to judge here since I'm not in their shoes but I'd NEVER let my parents suffer so horribly because of me.

    Survivor’s guilt is probably the #1 thing preventing people from escaping. The idea that your family will be killed for your freedom is terrifying. I just hope his extended family wasn’t also punished for it.
