Maybe he rightly assumed the car would stop at the exit. Less than 3 seconds between the accident and the moment where it becomes clear the car isn't stopping. Biker takes evasive action at that exact moment too. A really defensive driver might have moved a lane over, but I don't know... I think I might have stayed in this lane myself in this situation. Looks like the first ever justified (because unavoidable) mirror smash :)
Exactly, this accident was easily avoidable if the car stopped where he should have. You always have to assume people will follow the rules. If you don't, please don't ever drive through a green light again, because someone might barge through the red.

I think the law applies to how motorbikes are supposed to be treated as an actual vehicle (hence him being in the same space ((you are supposed to stay in your lane like any other vehicle)) as that truck was wrong and not logical ESPECIALLY when trying to make a sharp turn at that end).
