I always grew up just bottom fishing with a basic knocker rig in the gulf up towards the Steinhatchee area, so all this is new to me and I really appreciate you doing some of the “how-to” videos! This was a very interesting video. I have been getting ready to start swordfishing and started rigging bonito and mahi bellies, brined and freezed them for the season.
    I've never seen anybody rigging the mahi belly with the hook on the outside but it make a lot of sense and definitely leaves more hook exposed therefore higher hook up ratio.
    I will start riggin them like that too.
    Thanks again for the instructional videos.
    As soon as I can afford it I will book a charter with you !!😁
    Good luck with all your charters.

    As far as videos for the future: I'd love to see some details on how you use your fish finder while deep dropping. Things like settings, types of transducers, what marks you look for while fishing for swords, snowies, etc. Also, how much you rely on marking bait or fish vs just fishing certain spots of structure, etc. Basically the hows and whys of picking one spot over another on any given day when it comes to what you see on the sounder.
    Thanks again!

    Video suggestions: here are some for consideration;
    1.deep drop to include tackle set up, depth, species setup segment
    2. Lower keys season review, best times of year for select species nd Leo by season
    3. Yellowtail chum balling techniques
    4. Dolphin fishing review, tackle set up, trolling and run and gun
    5. Another spear gun review is always welcome
    6. Segment on how you would manage a new client free diving spear fishing, would need aa client willing to allow you to film of course
    7. Film a segment on the Yankee Capts next to you good for you and Greg. Videos on the YC are heavily viewed
    8. Joint filming session with some other you tube fishing stars, i.e. Gayle force twins, Deermeatfordinner, bluegabe, etc...

    What’s your opinion on long a sword bait is still good? A few drifts, a few trips being frozen in between? Do you only use fresh(never frozen) baits?

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  3 года назад +1

      I like to think fresh matters, but I once used a cobia belly that we thawed and refroze 6 times just to piss off my good friend Mathew Conrad and I landed a sword with it. but with that being said if I fish a good fresh bait and it doesn't get touched, I will freeze it and save it. normally only once.
