At the beginning and throughout most of WWII, the US Army created special elite "Tank Destroyer" (TD) units, whose sole purpose was to engage and destroy enemy tanks. The US Army's main tank of WW2, the M4 Sherman, was specifically designed as an easy-to-produce, reliable, fast-moving tank. It's specified purpose was to support mechanized infantry and fast advances. When enemy armor was encountered by the advancing American forces they would be bypassed, while the specialty TD units would be called up to eliminate them. This doctrine would ultimately fall out of favor by war's end . The general purpose "Main Battle Tanks" would eventually be developed to replace the separate tank and TD forces. I'm confident I know a lot more about WWII US Army anti-tank doctrine than the average person. Those books on the shelf behind me aren't just there for looks.

tbh you could do the turret better with angled single-stud large smooth plates and some angled linking, the M18's armour overall was VERY thin.
