The CBSL governor rightly suggested that, In a bankrupt country, the citizens have to sacrifice, can not expect susidies, have to face the unprecedented inflation, have to pay back to the government a substantial portion of the salary in the form of taxes, and public have to embrace the economic reforms by sacrificing few years until we overcome the situation.
The public listened, agreed, and adhered.
In this backdrop, how can the governor justify the new salaries of CBSL peons exceeding Rs. 200,000?

Governor Pl pay your kind attention to restart Senior citizen's Fixed deposit interest rate increase upto 15% for 1.5M Because of present cost of living is too high. And Recently banks increase the bank loan interest 3% But now All the banks FD interest rates are decrease up 8.75% because of that 3% interest rate urgently reduce it pl.

Good explanation. What I can see is that a few people are trying to compromise central bank independence. I hope more reforms are coming.

Those who are @ Diyawanna won't understand what Independence is. They are just making a mockery of Salary increments of CBSL personnel. So far CBSL made monitory policies which become on the right track.

If things go right and efficiently, I don't see anything wrong with paying high salaries to keep educated and experienced employees, as it helps to bring a company forward. However, I am not sure about the ethical implications of that. The central bank should be separated from short-sighted and uneducated politicians who are only focused on winning elections and should not be controlled by them. In fact, politicians should be concerned about the corruption and waste within their own government institutions and ministries, which are not functioning well. There is a significant amount of money leaking from these inefficiencies, more so than from salary increments of central bank.

Is Central Bank independence so imperative ?
If so: How come Monetary Authority of Singapore ( which is their central bank) with out being indindependent from Singapore government function effectively to elevate their economy from 3rd world to 1st world. In fact incumbent chairman is non other than the Deputy prime minister and the finance minister ! The board include incumbent or former ministers of ministries vital to the economy.
Then : isn't it the fiscal policy prudence not the independence of Central Bank matter most for economic success ?
Further won't laissez-faire independence leave room for unwarranted incidents like famous sorry infamous bond scam , over consumption resources etc.?
    Any rational explanation !
Subject to correction if facts above are erroneous.
