That is a very impressive device. I would be slightly wary about using Bluetooth.
A couple months ago I recorded a friends music video and we used a Bluetooth speaker as the reference audio to sync the video to in editing.
During the editing process we realised that the Bluetooth speaker changed the music ever so slightly so that all the footage that was filmed was useless.
    The changes were:
1: the music being played by the speaker played gradually slower than the original music. (Very slightly so that it’s unnoticed but when placed in the editing software it was noticeably longer than the original track)
    2. The slowing down of the music caused a slight pitch shift which was once again unnoticeable until the original was played alongside the film set recorded audio.
The conclusive result I’ve found was that Bluetooth audio fluctuates in speed and pitch as the device plays the audio. I don’t know if this is because the device is trying to process a large amount of information in real-time.
So playing with Bluetooth may affect practice by affecting intonation, due to the pitch fluctuations during playback.
I thought I’d just share this because I’d hate to think others might go through the same issues

Sticker shock!! Holy shimmies, Jonathan! I agree with your “coloring” ideas, just wish I could afford that little gem. I have appreciated your videos over the years.

Love the sideburns! And great video Jonathan. Another thing to keep in mind (would go along with your mention of picking out an amp specifically designed for a piezo pickup) is impedance. Piezo pickups notoriously have a very high impedance and will sound choked through an amp meant to be used with magnetic pickups.
I personally picked out the Fishman Loudbox years ago, but I've used these Henriksen amps and they're fantastic an definitely worth the money over the Fishman. If you can find an old Trace Elliott amp, even better though they're really heavy.

I've also heard that the fishman loudbox amplifiers work very well for both cello and violin both with and without effects and are pretty affordable.

I was wondering about this as I already have a Fender bass amp as well as a Vox headphone bass amp. I also occasionally run stuff though an audio interface, though, I don't know if that alone is good enough for a piezo pickup.

with your DAW and AI, there you can improve the sound significantly

I think this video would have been much more effective with examples of playing through the amp and with the additional 12 in cabinet for the 5 string.

I dunno that your emphasis on suitability for piezo pickup is really relevant here, since elsewhere you note that you feed this through a Helix Stompbox first (at least for the IR), and in your video with your luthier, it looks like you've hooked things up serially (i.e. not using the FX loop here), so you're basically using the preamp on the Helix (and actually also the preamp on the NS CR cello before that).
Nevertheless in what I think is your setup --- NS CR to NX stompbox to Bud Ten, which is how I have things set up too -- the effect of each of the components is pretty stark. E.g. plugging in headphones at each stage (at the CR, at the HX, at the amp) shows significant contributions from each component in the chain, the IR from the StompBox being the largest contributor, I think.

I learned something today - yes, using just the CR to Bud 10 I found the amp to be my preferred brand, though now I am learning of other brands that do good too. Suggestions?
