I actually had this happen to me when I was a kid. At 8 years old I had a babysitter do stuff to me, and this documentary only made me relive it in my mind. I hadn’t thought about it for years. I don’t know where she is today, but wherever she is, I hope she’s living the worst life imaginable.

Nice job reviewing a tough documentary series but from what I heard it's something that needed to be made to reveal the hidden truth behind what happened at Nickelodeon in the past. Now, despite the tragedies I am not going to cancel every Nick show from my childhood or feel bad watching them. There are so many other people involved with the company who did nothing wrong and should not be considered guilty by association for the heinous actions of a few individuals. The fallout of this should be relegated to those who are guilty. Not the many people behind the scenes in front of the camera or who worked for the studio who didn't do anything wrong.

I gotta give props to the makers of the documentary. It’s actually rare these days when a documentary actually brings more information to the table that I couldn’t get from an unbiased RUclips documentary video on the subject. This one actually had a lot of stuff I didn’t know about and just further exposes how awful Hollywood is. It’s a powerful and maddening documentary that made me want to buy a wood chipper and tow it down to Hollywood ASAP. I felt so bad that Joe Bell was actually a great dad and he got shunned at every opportunity until it was too late and the predator got Drake. The John Wayne Gacy story was just wild to me. He didn’t even hide that, and everyone knew Gacy was one of the most vile humans on the planet. There are a few things the documentary did have to leave out for legal reasons, but they really could have went harder on the allegations about Dan Schneider and a teenage Amanda Bynes, and while they did reference Jennette McCurdy’s book, I’m surprised they didn’t just interview her. I was so glad that the documentary actually named names when it came to the letters of support for Brian Peck because then you not only see what a fucking Sodom and Gomorrah-style cesspool Hollywood is, but you can also connect more dots and see how deep this shit goes.
Two of the letters of support that were mentioned in the show were from James Marsden and another actor from X-Men. Who directed X-Men? Bryan Singer; a man who has had allegations about molesting teenage boys for two decades now as detailed in an Open Secret. Singer also worked with Kevin Spacey in Superman Returns. All these people socialize in the same circles and they protect each other. Me Too did Jack shit to protect children and was used as a move to grab power in a vacuum instead. Brian Peck also got immediately hired to work on a show starring two teenage boys by Disney. Disney also hired Victor Salva fresh out of prison for molesting young boys as well. You really could do a companion documentary on Disney as well.
As a heads up, there is actually a 5th episode coming out next Sunday April 7. I assume it will cover the recent Dan Schneider interview and they are doing another interview with Drake Bell I believe.

As a Zillennial (1997 baby) who grew up on all of Dan Schneider’s show, I was disgusted about the people who worked on the background on my childhood shows such as Jason Handy, and Brian Peck. That documentary screamed Bible verses, “Matthew 18:6,” “Mark 9:42,” “Luke 17:12” to me, because there were two Peeeeeddddddooooooosss that worked with Dan Schneider. And When I was watching the documentary, Drake Bell's mother failed him. His girlfriend's mother was a lot more caring and cautious than his own mother, because the girl friend's mother offered to take young Drake Bell to see a therapist.

Hollywood is such a cesspool and its only been further confirmed in recent years which is why I don't worship and would never wanna meet any celebrity. Why would I wanna risk tarnishing entertainment I enjoy for a bad experience that I had to pay for when half of them are doing that for us anyway when horrible things are being revealed every month about them or they go on a social media rant and say out of touch stupid shit. I don't understand why people pay so much for these clinical photo ops for example where they barely interact with the person? There just an actor there not the character! Its insane to me plus if more people refused to pay the outrageous prices they've set they'd have to lower them and both the celebs and con managers would have to be more humble if they see there not worth as much as they thought. Vote with your wallet which is why for the most part I barely support anything Hollywood associated anymore.

I remember first hearing about Brian Peck being a pred on the documentary from 2017 called An Open Secret and I was in disbelief, upset and disgusted that this sick SOB was convicted and still had jobs after his conviction and also attended horror conventions as well the ROTLD reunions after the fact which that needs to be brought up as well. I love the Return of the Living Dead and also I like it’s two sequels but unfortunately this creep is apart of these movies at least his characters are, he may did some good work in those but as a person he should definitely not be celebrated especially in the horror community. I had no idea about his conviction back in 2004 until 2017 which is crazy.
I guess it went over people’s heads then like me and almost nobody looked up the case on the internet back in 04, I really don’t know. I’m not sure if his co-cast members from the ROTLD, knew about his horrible crimes, who knows. Just makes me sick to my stomach. You can say the female rotted zombie from the first movie was the hero all along. Good review Matt, this doc was definitely a tough one to get through. Though the good thing is the message is finally out. This doc made me hate Peck even more especially now that I have a kid and of course gotta keep him safe from all the crap out there.

I think with the Drake Bell underage girl thing it's because he was mentally messed up after being molested himself. Sometimes people who are victims of molestation get confused mentally and think that's normal behavior it can really fuck a person up mentally. I'm glad he seems to have gotten himself more together though and is moving forward and stopping the circle of violence. It's like kids who grow up with dads who beat there moms then they do the same thing when there older. It's all a circle of violence that continues on forever until someone breaks the chain.

Yeah, I've seen a couple of episodes of All That. It's a show that... was what it was. It's hard to say that it was a good show, but at the same time, it was clearly a show meant for kids. It was essentially a kiddie version of In Living Color, and... it pretty much removed everything that made In Living Color funny. But again, it was for kids. And as sketch shows aimed at kids go, it was along the same lines of something like: "You Can't Do That on Television", like... it was passable. Although, to tell you the truth, I do honestly like You Can't Do That on Television more than All That, because I thought that show was more interesting, as well as a little bit more messed up tbh. But again, as children sketch shows go, All That was fine.
Of course, All That is where Good Burger originated from, and... yeah, I probably would say I liked Good Burger better when it was a sketch, than as a movie. Because it's a concept that honestly works better in small doses.

Nickelodeon in the 00s aside from Spongebob was very odd. When I watched it growing up in 90s it was way different. You can't compare stuff like Snick, Are you Afraid of the Dark, and Pete and Pete with the perverted creep factor of the 00s and 2010s stuff. I guess being an adult mostly during the latter times I didn't notice it much when I saw my younger niece and nephews watching it. I was just annoyed by them trying to force these tweens into pop stars. The creepy stuff coming out now about what was going on was hidden in plain sight.

I'm all over the place on this documentary. And it doesn't help that I watched a response video from Michael Ray Bower, who was in Salute Your Shorts. What Michael had to say just confirmed my thoughts. The whole Dan Schneider thing, I'm neutral on or I'm in a back-and-forth state on him. Michael Ray Bower shared his thoughts on Dan. He said that Dan was overall fine when he was around him. Plus he pointed out that until people start coming forward on Dan, and until Dan is found guilty, gone to court, arrested, and gone to jail/prison, he can't really hate the guy. I agree. To me and for now, Dan just seems like a weird person that has a humor that really wasn't the best idea for Nickelodeon. But no one has come forward with serious stuff against him, so it's hard to 100% judge the guy. As for Brian Peck and that Jason guy, I hate them. As for the kids, to me it just sounded like they were a bunch of whiners and complainers. And I hate that they used race and gender. Kenan, Kel, and Amanda Bynes all debunk the race and gender stuff. And then you got Katrina Johnson. In addition to her being a whiner/complainer, she also seemed jealous and entitled. She said she loved Amanda Bynes at first but then once Amanda became huge and even got her own show, she hated Amanda. And Katrina said she wanted to be big and have her own show. So Amanda got what Katrina wanted. She also pointed out that Dan liked her until Amanda showed up. Then she got pushed to the side and Amanda became Dan's new favorite. Katrina just seemed entitled to be bigger and have her own show because she was there first. And so Katrina got mad and went off to college. So yeah. It does seem a little difficult to feel terrible/bad for these kids. They just sounded like a bunch of whiners and complainers. Plus some went the race and gender route for things. And with all that, I'm just all over the place. Oh and it doesn't help that the documentary felt biased and one-sided. They only showed one side to stuff. This documentary really felt like it had a narrative/agenda. This is why I don't really like to watch documentaries. There is always that kind of stuff happening. They aren't being fair to both sides. Just one side. And the other side I'm talking about isn't exactly Dan's side. But yeah. That's my thoughts on the documentary. I feel like I have quite the opinion on it since I'm not with everyone else. It doesn't help that some of this stuff I've been aware of for like 10-15 years. In a way, it's almost like someone went to Wikipedia and read everything related to the dark side of Nickelodeon that you can find on there. Something like that.

I forgot to mention my thoughts on the female writers. They are also why I question the documentary and I'm so back-and-forth on Dan Schneider. Something felt off about that whole segment. I feel the female writers aren't being 100% honest and are sort of making up stuff or doing some fact twisting. I think that's where I said the documentary felt one-sided. I wanted to hear other opinions on the whole thing. Not just from the two writers. But since the documentary felt so biased and had a narrative/agenda they were sticking to, they didn't want to bring in people that would be 100% honest (since I'm sure the others would more than likely be guys/men and guys like to stick together and defend each other) and to the point of debunking the female writers. Also, that one female writer looks like she had quite a bit of work done when it comes to her face (I highly doubt her face looks the way it does because of her aging badly). So it seems like she isn't struggling too much money wise. But yeah. All we got was the female writers' point of view. No other input. So I feel they are leaving stuff out of the documentary, and it leaves me questioning stuff and all over the place on the documentary. That's part of why I am so back-and-forth on Dan Schneider. A lot of that stuff seems true, especially with Dan him admitting stuff, but I question what's really true and what could possibly be lies or what's being twisted when it comes to the facts. This documentary seems poorly done and they just have a narrative/agenda/one side they are sticking to and not giving us both sides.

"that one female writer looks like she had quite a bit of work done when it comes to her face, she's not strugglign with money"...it's been 20 years, you don't think she has moved on/made money in the 20 years since? And what does that have to do with whether they 'are telling the truth'? Haven't work done means you are a liar? And what other side did you want? You had the director who said 'dan was nice to work with it at first'. You have Drake Bell saying 'dan was there for me'. Dan didn't wanna do the doc, but he also didn't Deny anything when he did his own interview. He said 'i'm sorry, i'm better today'. i mean, Dan admits he did it and you still have doubts?

Oh yeah the Double Toasted video made me disappointed as well. To see Martin defend that potato squeezing video saying he didn't see the shape of the potato as a d, I'm like come on dude you guys are really trying to give Dan a huge benefit of the doubt just because he wasn't on the same level as Brian Peck or Jason Handy which is still to be seen as I think there's a lot more dirt on Shneider out there that whether it's NDA's or he himself has dirt on others for whatever reason his worst offenses hasn't been revealed.

48:28 The documentary didn’t go into detail about Drake Bell’s court situation.. so Drake Bell didn’t know he was texting a minor she was a super fan of him and she very obsessive and when he found out how old she was he blocked all communications and blocked her as she lied about her age but Drake Bell got trouble for flirty text messages.. this video will explain better detail (it’s a short simple video don’t always believe the Clickbait media.. he pled guilty to stupid reckless irresponsible text messages of an age of someone he didn’t know that was underage and that’s it..
    Drake Bell is innocent) ruclips.net/video/wNAqvKrTwF0/видео.htmlfeature=shared
