My son, a golfer with a 4 handicap, just graduated from college with a business degree and just got his first fulltime job with PING America (Arizona) building clubs. He is a Mizuno Iron guy but now that's he's building PING Clubs and testing clubs he is in love with the Blueprint S Irons. He wanted to start at the bottom with PING in manufacturing so he will know the product so he can sell the product and is loving what he is seeing from the manufacturing level. As they (PING) guide his progress, He will move into customer service then PINGS fitting department, learning each department at PING. As Ian says he has to learn everything about PING Products to promote/sell PING Products. When my son Ian was 8 years of age, he first golf instructor was a European Pro sponsored by PING & personal friend of Karsten Solheim (PING Founder) In Phoenix Arizona. At the age of 16, Ian got his first custom fitting for new clubs at PING Phoenix, and now he's working for PING. Talk about full circle. He swears by the new PING Blueprint S Irons and he's scores seem to prove his commitment to them. Big Smile😊
Never thought I would see the day when Pete chose something smart and forgiving over a shiny blade that has a head the same size as the golf ball…. You really are a new man for 2024 Pete!!! We are all so proud 😂
I've gone all out on Ping for 2024. Current range is amazing. My witb is 430 LST 430 max 3 wood 430 3hy 4_GW I230 power spec Glide 4 54 and 58 LAB Link 1 putter Irons so much more consistent, for distance especially. The fitting centre is an amazing experience.
I just got fit for the Blueprint S. Coming from some 716 AP2s. I’ve been fully converted brother. Omg these irons. AP2s and T100s I was over spinning. The Blueprint S upright 2 degrees was an absolute perfect match. I also hit the Mizuno 243s like shit and these were wayyyy better feeling. Ping iron squad ✊
Ping is (and has been) an incredible company, and their irons are second to none. BP-S gaining a lot of traction on tour for Ping staffers and non-staffers too. Great choice.
I went Ping 5 year ago, upgraded to i230's last year, absolutely love em, looking forward to the new wedges this Month as its time for my Gap wedges to be upgraded from Glide stealthy. Take my money Ping.
I'm glad you finally decided to go with something more forgiving. Along with you choosing Ping. I started with Ping Zing originals from Junior Golf to Men's Club in my late 20s. I upgraded to the Ping i-E1 irons a couple years ago. And I've been pleased with my choice. Ping just makes great irons! And their fitting system is the best.
Ping are simply the best. When I used to play ping were my irons of choice because of their forgiveness and custom fitting. Great video Peter. Good to see you using your head!
Going to the PING Fitting centre is an awesome experience, Paul is also a fantastic fitter, never been fit by him before, but I have took loads of members down to get fitted and he is top draw. The blueprint range look fantastic and I think you have made a pretty good choose.
@peterfinchgolf - Hi Pete. My lad plays off 5 but had a double break of his wrist a couple of years back. He's back playing now to a similar standard but does report some wrist pain at times. Do you think it's worthwhile considering a thicker grip? He's on a standard size just now. Keep up the great work. Thanks
@@sarahnand-lal5339i would try going to mid size with a couple extra wraps. Then go from there. Im a mechanic and hockey player not as young and stubborn as once was. At 33 even tho not old from work and hockey and golf all life i have a lot of wrist pain and stuff acting up and for sure mid size helps me a lot i switched couple yrs back and i have bigger hands so i just tend to do better and im not reaching for the club like a standard grip size
When I got fitted for my i500's, the fitter gave me an original Blueprint 7i to have a go with for giggles. It was about the size of a teaspoon and I couldn't hit the ball. Which as you say looks enormous in comparison.
I have had in the past attended Gainsborough in Lincolnshire for a Ping Iron Fitting. They looked after me that day. Their fitters are the best I have encountered. This was back many years ago, i was fitted into Ping i3 Blades. I think for forgiveness without carry those big chunky irons Ping are the absolute best. Good to see you getting fitted into Ping irons and being sensible. Good Luck for competeive golf
Good for you Finchy. You look so comfortable with your S model, and we all know that confidence in your equipment is huge. It doesn't hurt that the S model looks really sharp. Good going, and I can tell you are going to play well with these bad boys.
It’s so refreshing to see a great player be open minded to clubs. I’ve felt for a long time that the better players become a little snobbish with clubs but this really was refreshing
Paul fitted my daughter for her Prodi G bag, top guy and spent plenty of time with her getting things right. Very impressed that a fitter took the time to do the job properly with someone who was only 7 at the time.
one of the best videos I've seem on fitting. Why would anyone buy clubs with a fitting?? Brilliant Pete - your production and editing is supreme. The best golf channel!!!!
I've never been one to be a real fan of Ping irons until I saw these Blueprint S. So glad Pete chose them and I can't wait to see how the rest of the bag pans out.
Great video and interesting to see the figures in detail - the strokes gained was the big eye opener. A lesson for all in getting a proper fitting rather than just splashing out on the newest models
Hi pete and the team. Just a thought. In a lot of spheres on RUclips but not in golf, at the end of series like this one a long format edit of the video series is made as a final edition video including the first to the last video strung together in a long form “movie” this helps content creators generate additional revenue , but also an enjoyable long watch for those who enjoy longer format viewing like myself. I would still watch the series but if I fall behind or I find an old series in the future it makes it much easier to get up to date as I can cast it to my tv and not have to keep searching for additional videos. Keep up the great work and love the channel
Great video Pete. In a QFTO season I’m glad you went down the smart option route. I’ll look forward to your Open Qualifying videos a lot more. Good luck.
Oh my god 10/10 on the background music guys not corny or annoying wow just wow its like im watching rain man but petes talking about ping irons thank you
Brilliant... Genuinely excited for your Quest this year! And you looked really excited and impressed in getting these... Slightly surprised you didn't go the T!
Delited you have gone Ping Pete. I loved my session at Gainsborough. So much more than a session at Titleist. The explanations the knowledge and the service for me was second to none. I was fitted for G25 years ago then G410 now changing to G430 but these are expensive and im having to change a club at a time.
Smart move Pete. The strokes gained was very cool to see for a fitting, by the way. Just watch those new Blueprint's around Matt Fryer. Heard he is looking into same model irons
He truly needs one of those ballistic drivers that uses blanks to shoot the face towards the ball. Rick's swing has been the most consistent thing on the planet and not in a good way. 😂
Did not expect that, but once again: what do I know, all my knowledge comes from guys such as … well… you. Really interested to see where this takes you! Best of luck!
Good decision Pete. Would have been nice to see you baseline your Itobori and compare the dispersion and strokes gained from them. But still interesting to watch 👍🏻
Pete, any chance you could get your hands on and review the new EZ3 3-wood. It would be good to know if it really is designed specifically for the amateur golfer and if it can be played with great effect, consistency and flight that it states it can.
I did the opposite this year. I bought Ben Hogan icons. I hated my taylormade p770’s. I’ve lost distance but can easily hit the ball straighter and higher when needed. They are so easy to work the ball.
Love this series, Pete! i played the Miura MB101 blades (4-PW) for about 2 season, best feeling iron I have ever hit but zero forgiveness. I ended up trying the i230's and loved them so much that I ordered a set (4-PW) about 8 months ago. Then the blueprint T/S line came out.....tried both the T and the S and found that the lower irons were INCREDIBLE in the T and ended up getting 7-PW in the Blueprint T and keeping the i230 in 4-6. Awesome video, Pete! Really looking forward to more Build My Bag!
Funny thing is, I was recently fit into the Cobra CB irons. Basically the same fitting process as what you went through just with a different brand. Need to get the lie angles adjusted because the CB’s are 2 degrees flatter than the Forged Tec (clubs I was playing( for some reason.
Any insight into why Pete fits into a 1-3 degree upright club based on the height and wrist to floor, but the fitter starts him out 2 degrees flat? I know Pete normally plays flat, but shouldn't the fitting start at zero and confirm past selections were right or wrong rather than assuming they were right?
Great video! It's so weird, that the static fitting chart gives a 5 degrees different lie angle, from what you had before and still keep after the fitting.
Your bag is starting to look like mine, Pete! I have the 10k and the blueprint s and the s159 wedges. You need to try those out next. They are amazing!
Very good video. Enjoyed this fitting BUT I would put those up against T 100 any day. I have 2021 T100S and they’re phenomenal with 70 to 90 g of tungsten in each head heal & toe to maximize MOI.
I fit these clubs every day at work. The BP T irons are the best irons PING has ever produced. The BP S, maybe has 7% larger sweet spot, but ball speeds are much more consistent. The feel on the S isn't near what the T offers, but yes Pete chose the right irons to give him just a little more confidence on days he doesn't have his A game!
I've had these for a couple years now. They are superb for the price. I've had the opportunity to buy others, but passed as i can't justify it. I can't get more performance for the money spent. However, I have the regular silver version.... I'm not into clubs with finishes.
I wish, 20yrs ago, that I had got customed fitted for the Blade i3 irons instead of buying my Titleist 981s of the rack. I have had always had a niggle, What If? And as a golfer that is one terrible niggle. Don't get me wrong, the 981s are a great club, (open championship winning club). My first set of irons were my dads Walter Hagan Ultradyne II's, With the Twist in the shaft, quite a large head but it would be classed as a muscleback rather than a blade, and I loved them, but as people would tell me the clubs were a early 80s iron and 'playing' in the 90s, played St Andrews off the box Tees which was still longer than my Course at Lanark, and broke 80 before I broke 80 at Lanark. I am now considering changing my Titleists for something more forgiving, do you go down the road of picking brand then getting the irons that suit within the 'range' and going with the best irons and as you say take the ego out of it. It is just can the bank balance cope with the price tag.
I love my Ping Driver. But because I don’t as much as I would like to. I might have to check out the Ping irons and see if I can improve with my consistency.
So what shaft did you decide on? Nov 15 I am getting the ping i230. Mid handicapper, need more forgiveness , workability, distance, hence my confidence to increase Blueprint s looks gorgeous. Just do not feel, I am good enough
The one thing I love about ping especially being 6,2 is they measure you for the length of the irons . I'm disappointed in my new set of callaways because the fitter didn't really care
Great video! Interested to know a bit more about the decision to go straight to Ping. Was this because you had practiced with Ping irons in the sim (you mentioned that towards the end of the video), or was there another reason?
I was 100% you will go for the T, like them more than Miura or any Japanesse head you had a chance to pick last year...they just look clean and don't shine as the others
@peterfinchgolf You should test the Jumbomax Zen Lite grips. They feel like a “normal” grip but they are so much better. They are much lighter then the Jumbomax Tour that you had in your last set. The Zen will not mess up your swing weight.
Great insight vid Pete. Just so happens I had a iron fitting where I dropped down to 120g shafts also (previously 130). What's your take on Wedge Shafts now with the lighter iron shafts?
Nice video again boys. Well done Pete, keep the faith with your workouts. And when shopping for clubs, now you can tick that box that says 'I confirm I have undergone a face-to-face custom PING fitting'.
Those ping irons looks really nice. I like my mizunos but if these irons were available when I did my fitting these would have been a strong contender. Looking forward to see them in action specially against the young ones in the states.
PING is the one brand that I could have ALL of their clubs in my bag. They are an engineering company and have been at it for a long, long time. Extraordinarily well engineered clubs. That BluePrint S looks amazing. TXG (Ian) was just hitting the G430 max in a video and contemplating that driver head for his build the bag series.
Evening. I wonder if someone or even you Mr Finch. If you can tell me the difference between a custom fitting for irons at a pro shop or American golf. Rough price £50-£80. And going somewhere like Precision golf, which specialises in custom golf fitting, rough price £250+ for irons.
Pete switching clubs every 15 minutes and having a lesson once a year is so golf. And I'm here for it
Hahaha indeed, this Ping not gonna last 3 months… what a waste of
Hes one of us
Tiger Woods imitating Jeremy Clarkson: “What happens when you take a golfer and then give him a bunch of money….(dramatic pause)….. LETS FIND OUT!”
How can you not 😂😂 why would I get a lesson when I can own a club. Rent vs own be smart😂😂😂
I've not had a lesson yet so stay tuned

I've gone all out on Ping for 2024. Current range is amazing. My witb is
430 LST
430 max 3 wood
430 3hy

Wow.....I am so shocked. Ping driver and now Ping irons...!!! After watching Pete for so many years, this is a revelation...!!!!
Wow thanks for the spoiler
@pcoltrane3960 not really a spoiler dude. The irons were in the title and the driver was last weeks vlog.!
😂😂😂@@graemeday4195

Thought he was gonna kng with the qi10

Same!

Agree

All (3) are beautiful! I haven't gamed a set of Ping irons since the i20's. Man I loved those irons. They looked awesome as well.
Have never seen Peter play Ping anything and now he's got a Ping driver and Irons. Ping is my favorite brand followed closely by Taylormade.
I did the opposite this year. I bought Ben Hogan icons. I hated my taylormade p770’s. I’ve lost distance but can easily hit the ball straighter and higher when needed. They are so easy to work the ball.

Funny thing is, I was recently fit into the Cobra CB irons. Basically the same fitting process as what you went through just with a different brand. Need to get the lie angles adjusted because the CB’s are 2 degrees flatter than the Forged Tec (clubs I was playing( for some reason.
Those Blueprint S you ended up choosing are just class.....
Those Blueprint S irons are stunning Pete. Personally I think you should have gone for the 230s. But really hope you have a great year playing Ping.
Great insights on fitting process. 🙏🏼
Paul did a great job with you! Loved it!
I see Pete kind of addresses that later on. I would be interested to see the data from the chart suggestion versus preference!
It was nice to watch Peter go through the process. I'm curious: what was the deciding factor behind going with Ping?
Just got fit into these yesterday and can’t wait to play them
Proximity to the pin stats ? Interested to see how much better you will be with the new irons. Good luck
Great video! It's so weird, that the static fitting chart gives a 5 degrees different lie angle, from what you had before and still keep after the fitting.
they look ace. The T's look amazing
Go for the G430 7 wood, and G430 5 HYBRID..!!
Your bag is starting to look like mine, Pete! I have the 10k and the blueprint s and the s159 wedges. You need to try those out next. They are amazing!
Pete why no combo w i230 for long irons??
Very good video. Enjoyed this fitting BUT I would put those up against T 100 any day. I have 2021 T100S and they’re phenomenal with 70 to 90 g of tungsten in each head heal & toe to maximize MOI.
I fit these clubs every day at work. The BP T irons are the best irons PING has ever produced. The BP S, maybe has 7% larger sweet spot, but ball speeds are much more consistent. Looking forward to hearing how they improve your performance out on the course.
Come on Pete, smash those qaulys 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 Would love you to get to the open!! Best relatable Golf youtuber by far.
I've had these for a couple years now. They are superb for the price. I've had the opportunity to buy others, but passed as i can't justify it. I can't get more performance for the money spent.
However, I have the regular silver version.... I'm not into clubs with finishes.
You're a great player Pete....looking forward to watching the coming months. Good luck!!
The Pings look great Pete. BTW if you are going to Open Qualifying have a change from West Lancs come to Fulford in York maybe?
I wish, 20yrs ago, that I had got customed fitted for the Blade i3 irons instead of buying my Titleist 981s of the rack. I have had always had a niggle, What If? Makes me want to go get fit again. Seeing you get all the data back makes me need a new set of clubs 😅
I love my Ping Driver. But because I don’t as much as I would like to. I might have to check out the Ping irons and see if I can improve with my consistency.
I got fit for a set of Blueprint S irons about a week ago. Should be in next week or the week after.
CP2 Wrap Jumbo is great for joints while still having solid feel.
Once you fit the jumbo max grips, is there a danger that impacts the fit?
Awesome content Pete, Blueprint S look brilliant ............. Bring on the Open.
So what shaft did you decide on? Nov 15 I am getting the ping i230. Mid handicapper, need more forgiveness , workability, distance, hence my confidence to increase Blueprint s looks gorgeous. Just do not feel, I am good enough

how was the spin comparing t vs s? did you see a big difference? couldn't see it in the video..
I’m looking forward to the putter fitting!!! 🤞🏻
Did you consider the idea of a combo set 3-6 Blueprint S 7-PW Blueprint T?
@peterfinchgolf You should test the Jumbomax Zen Lite grips. They feel like a “normal” grip but they are so much better. They are much lighter then the Jumbomax Tour that you had in your last set. The Zen will not mess up your swing weight.
You use jumbo grips right ? Don’t you feel that will effect the results ?
Great to see Ping irons in the bag. Will you be playing the English PGA championships at Bowood this year?
pete what do you do with all your older irons/ clubs do you sell any of them or just hang onto them?
Near the start when it’s gives you the first set of data I.e carry 170. What club was that please
Great insight vid Pete. Just so happens I had a iron fitting where I dropped down to 120g shafts also (previously 130). What's your take on Wedge Shafts now with the lighter iron shafts?
So much for the Ice Cold Wilson Staff irons then 😂😂 But going for the sensible choice can't wait to see you using them on the course!!
Is the hand to floor measurement really that key? And won’t the shaft fixing collet add more weight?
Pete without really shiny butter knifes... what has the world come too 😂 fantastic video as always and really enjoyed the fitting process at ping.
Really awesome video, Pete! Love it!
