Personally, I love the BIG series premieres that actually set up the series as a whole instead of just being a standard adventure that just happens to start the series. I noticed it's something Davies doesn't ever really do. Moffat did it for series 6 and 9. Chibnall did it for series 12 and 13. I would love to see a Davies series arc that's actually set up in the premiere episode in some substantial way instead of just the frequent mentions. The best premiere we've probably had is the Impossible Astronaut.
