my neighbor owned a red one looked brand new last week i was going to get dinner and we left the same time and he was in front of me drunk ran a stop sign and destroyed it watched my neighbor hand wash it every single weekend cant imagine how sad he is

Man, these are such great cars. In case anyone out there doesnt know, the Pontiac Vibe is the exact same car but rebadged and with a different exterior. The Vibe is much less boxy. You also dont pay the "Toyota Tax" if you take that route. Absolutely bulletproof cars. Just a Corolla that they (for some weird reason) decided to give a new name instead of just calling it what it is: the Corolla Hatchback.
I have a 2007 Pontiac Vibe, white, it is a cool car. There are about 10 vibes in the city, everyone looks and thinks what kind of car this is))
@loremipsum7447 Weird, maybe it's a location thing as far as how common they are. I live in rural Minnesota and I see them very frequently. Granted, I see many other cars far more often, but they do seem fairly common. I definitely put them in the "hidden gem" category as far as great, reliable vehicles that most people haven't caught on to yet.

@PloopChute most people rather pay tax for the sporty boxy aesthetic looks with nice body kits and potentially then a defunct brand, it's worth it.
@NightSociety The fact that it's a defunct brand doesn't matter. It's still a vehicle with widely available parts that are extremely cheap and plentiful.
And it's not like you're getting any better support from Toyota for a 15-20 year old vehicle just because they're still around.
Also, I'd say it's a stretch to call the Matrix "sportier" looking. Mostly, I hear the term "uglier," but that's subjective.
Nah, it's because it's a hidden gem of a vehicle and most people simply don't realize it's a Toyota.
Considering I see a ton of both on the road and maybe once have I ever seen a Matrix with any body kit or aftermarket numbers, I think you're crazy wrong. "Most people" are definitely not buying them for looks and DEFINITELY not for body kits, the latter of which is hilarious to even consider. They're buying them because they're cheap (even the Matrix doesn't hold value the same way a corolla or camry does, despite it literally being a hatchback Corolla with a different name) and insanely reliable.
It really is that simple. People are kinda dumb. They see a brand, and that's where their hunt ends.
I have 2013 matrix and i love your front bumper & headlights. Just sad little to no aftermarket for my year.
AIT Racing has a fiberglass kit for Gen2! (2009-2013 Matrix). I think that’s the only aftermarket support for your car, aside from that maybe custom work!
Very nice. Lotsa really nice details, especially like the blacked out emblems. I have a bone stock 2006 Matrix 4WD with 223,000 miles It only has the l 1ZZ-FE, but it loves to rev. I would love to throw one of those rare Superchargers on it.

Cool car and engine 2zz GE,
Engines are very hard to find and both the 2zz GE and 2zr-FE are used in the lotus.
Lotus now uses 2zr-FE and I have a 2zr-FE in my 2008 corolla. Both engines you should not let a standard mechanic work on. 2zr are prone to oil leaks and oil burning. Not so with the 2zz-GE as long as its serviced.
Key is to find a knowledgeable mechanic that know these engines inside out.
You can swap engines btwn 2003 and 2013 if im not mistaken for the the matrix and corolla models

Sorry I already have a buyer. He’s taking it off my hands, bone stock for $6.5k. Parts are on reserve. Just got a few things left like the Pioneer Head Unit ($200), OEM XRS mudguards (discontinued - $200 ($180 lowest)), Panavise Phone Mount ($60), EXEDY OE Clutch Kit with OEM rear main seal and OEM throwout bearing ($275). Firm on all and plus shipping or local pick up.

I have the OEM Enkei BMAT Wheels. Specs are 17x7.5+41. They’re OEM optional wheels that were available on the East Coast. I was lucky enough to find a set here in SoCal!

Hey man I have a couple of questions about your matrix. I have a 2005 1.8 and I’m looking for a header for it. What should I be looking for

You think that one of these with 7 owners would be some red flags?!?! 2018 with 76,000 miles asking 15k.
No such thing as a 2018 Matrix. The Matrix discontinued after 2014 in Canada, 2013 in US. So 2018 is a red flag, look no further but elsewhere LOL.

No, the car only has 133k original miles today and the OEM motor mounts are still solid.

@@johnhall852 no they will not. The manifold flange is different. IIRC DC SPORTS made one for the 1ZZFE as well. I think part number is THC4405. They’re discontinued.
I mean couldn’t I run a celica header off of the 1.8?

Took me a couple years to find and obtain them here in Southern California. Wheels were off a 2003 Matrix bought from an auction in Florida. Lol you’ll get lucky if whomever part out their car in the central or East Coast and offers shipping.

I have a buyer already. Bone stock for $6.5k, currently at 132k miles with no check engine lights. Timing cover gasket (common 2ZZGE oil leak) was done at 125k miles. Also have service records as well in CarFax.
$6.5k clean slate firm. If buyer flakes, then highest bidder takes it.

@@laurentgagne892 Toyota commissioned Yamaha to design the 2ZZ-GE, based on Toyota's ZZ block, for high-RPM operation and producing a power peak near the top of the RPM range.

@@LynnDisclose honestly the real answer is to make it sound faster. I have no tunes, no supercharger, no turbo, so no real horsepower gains haha. Unfortunately that’s how the game’s played.
@@thai2zz35 yea I got 1. I heard that it has the same motor as a lotus spirit sport car, but a straight through muffler and resonator with 3inch piping may make it sound fast. But I hear it's fast , the stock muffler is what restricts power with all that back pressure.

Not OEM wheels. Those are aftermarket.
