Learning about Islam in Dubai at Sheikh Mohammed Cultural Centre

- One of the highlights of my Dubai adventure was a visit to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (www.cultures.ae/), where we were greeted by Nasif Kayed, the center's managing director. His down-to-earth and funny speech set the tone for a very moving and informative visit. We learned a bit about the history of this tiny country, one of the now United Arab Emirates. We learned about what it's like to be a real Emirati, who only make up about 15% of Dubai's population (the rest being guest workers and expats).
Afterwards, we visited the Mosque and learned what the symbolism was of the things inside.

Mr. Nasif, thank you for explaining about the cultural differences you are a very presenter nice , and hilarious too. Is very good that Sheikh Mohe and you have this cultural center, is very informative and helpful . Is about the time East and West talk about our cultural differences. I live in Los Angeles, California, and I may visit Dubai next year. Thanks for explaining about the second wife concept.

Very nice vlog, and hilarious presenter. He gives truthfully how Muslims live. However, anyone watching should realize that like myself he is Muslim, but his culture is Emirati. I am American, so my culture is the American culture, and Islam is my religion. Religious interpretation varies, and is influenced by your predominant culture. Just food for thought.

Well, to each his own. I understand that he interprets his Islamic beliefs based on an Emirati's standpoint. However, the majority of Muslims all over the world may not share his cultural more open-minded views, and despite their own religious interpretation of their own local cultures, many would still even chose to persistently hang on to an archaic thousand year old Quran laws, which undoubtedly still give rise to an untold amount of human rights/society/gender/treatments/inequality/freedom of speech/segregation problems.
In certain Muslim countries, even Nasif would get in trouble for his speech.
M you are wrong bro, we maybe different in culture, but we follow 1 Quran and 1 prophet.. try go to every country, if you talk to real Muslim you can check yourself and believe me we all have the same interpretation, what Quran say is wrong than wrong what is right than its right.. what our prophet allowed we obey, what our prophet forbid we listen and obey.. in all over the world bro.. if you found a muslim who don't obey Quran and hadits we called fasiq/fasik in every Muslim country it's the same. I'm form Indonesia and I have a brother who learning Islam in Madinah, Saudi and we are the same.. except clothes because different culture but the same interpretation.. and believe me nasif kayed will not get trouble for his speech as long he is not mocking our God and our prophet, and I wont get trouble unless I mock non Muslim god.
