- Spotkaliśmy się z Kubą Gierszałem, ambasadorem projektu EKRAN 2.0, by porozmawiać o filmie, szkole i internecie. W śniadaniowej atmosferze Klubokawiarni Chłodna 25 opowiadał nam o tym, jak to się stało, że zainteresował się filmem, dlaczego niektóre filmy warto oglądać, a innych nie oraz o tym, jak wyglądała edukacja filmowa w jego szkole. Rozmawialiśmy również o internecie w szkole w kontekście naszego projektu EKRAN 2.0 oraz w kontekście filmu "Sala samobójców", którego fragmenty wykorzystaliśmy w scenariuszu lekcji o multimediach.

genialny jest w jego wypowiadaniu się na różne tematy,chciałabym miec szansę kiedyś z nim porozmawiac.
nie wiem z czego się bierze moja sympatia do Kuby, ale niewątpliwie przyciąga do siebie urokiem, jest po prostu czarujący :) o talencie nie wspomnę, chyba każdy wykształcony człowiek zdaje sobie sprawę z tego, że jest genialny. Oby więcej takich aktorów!

I mean, we were lucky enough to see fragments of movies, I don't know how other teachers run their lesssons - but when we were watching fragments of play "Dziady" by Mickiewicz, thanks to that, through my perception I would understand much more what it was about, more than from reading the play exclusively.

You see the movie and you live it. I have this thing, you see the movie and after that, for the week or two through the prism of the movie you perceive the world, and I keep getting back to those scenes, and these are the most valuable for me, I mean such movies. That's why we discuss it later - we don't want this feeling to fade away, we want to see movies like that again and again.

Yes, I know. I by myself know Russian, so I understand a little bit if polish. But all we ask (people who are not from Poland and don`t understand it at all) is to give us a hint what Jakub is talking about, summary of his words.
p.s. I like howwho polish words sound..a little bit weird. So maybe one day I`ll learn it)

I can not summarize this interview you because it's too long, but he said about how it happened, he became interested in film, why do some movies worth watching, but not others, and how looked like education about film in his school.
I often watch the movie once and start watching again immediately, but this time doing something else as well, or I watch it with the director's commentary, which is by the way such a cool concept. There's this story about Sylvester Stallone, who has written this script to that movie, that's bascially the story of how can one's dreams be strong and how much he [Sylvester] had dreamt of creating it and playing the lead role.
He was that insistent for so long the studio eventually understood the potential the script had and offered Stallone the lead role for an insignificant amount of money. First thing he did he started to wander around NYC in search of his dog. He went to the shop he had sold his dog at, he found the man that had bought it and told him he needed his dog back as it was the only thing he had really had.

But personally, when I watch the movie and feel it's to much for me and I clutter my head I just give up. For instance, once I watched "Brainhead" directed by Peter Jackson, the guy that directed "Lord of the Rings" later on. And well, on the other hand you could say you should never watch the movie titled "Brainhead", yet I have nice memories regarding that movie.
- Do you think movie help us to live our lives?
They help me to, so I gotta say yes. It'd be much more sad without them.
I think this is the direction the cinema goes towads. It'll be changed, you will rather take your camera and look for situations which are authentic, but in a way - created, fictional [he visibly struggles to make his point clear here lol]. I think the concept of the lead character wears itself out.
- Are there any movies one should not watch?
- Well, one one hand, you could say every cloud has its silver lining, so I'd dare to say you should watch everything.

When the man refused to give the dog back, Stallone offered him 5,000$ and a role in his movie. And this man with the dog played in "Rocky" afterwards. And we all know who Sylvester Stallone is now. More and more I think the acting has changed, and the movie industry has changed in general when it comes to documentaries; moving away from the form of acting, documentaries and fictionalised documentaries have become more popular in recent years.

I understand where you come from with this. I'm a teacher as well. But if you post something like this on youtube...many people will see it...and it is really frustating not knowing what he is talking about. And also as a teacher you know that learning a language isn't easy. It is not like ' okay, I'll learn polish now just to watch a video!' That would be great...but it's not real. =) Please, can you make the subs?
So he had written the script, losing all of his money and wife throughout the process. When the film studio had made him an offer, offering the money that would save him, he had said he agreed provided they had allowed him to play the lead role. And truly all he had had was a dog which he eventually decided to sell for 25$ so he could afford the food. In spite of that all he didn't sell the script, he didn't want those millions at the expense of giving up his complex idea.
Unfortunately I don't understand anything, but he is cute so i shall watch it! lol :P

I come from Poland and i can say, polish language is not easy [for polish peoples too] and do not understand many polish words too, so.. ;p. Polish language is the worst language to learn in Europe and Asia, do not know how in Africa, America and Australia, but certainly in Europe

Gdyby nie jego ojciec (reżyser) szybko by nie błysnął w telewizji. I nie mówcie, że praca czy cierpliwość. W telewizji, największym biznesie świata, liczą się tylko znajomości. Praca jest przy produkcji filmu, ale żeby się tam dostać trzeba albo mieć znajomości albo liznąć dupę. Cóż, jest młody, ale takich jak on jest miliardy, ja szczerze powiedziawszy nie widzę w nim nic OSZAŁAMIAJĄCEGO.
