I keep thinking about this: How would Megaman know if he's fighting for the right side? I keep thinking he was brainwashed to be a glorified cop for a tyrannical government to stay in power. Would the Mavericks be the right ones? We will never know. As robotics advance in real life, it's becoming dangerously close to this ever becoming a reality. Don't ever think governments around the world won't try this on their own people.
@@FeelingShred we really aren't close to that point what are you talking about? Most robots struggle to walk and most ai is basically glorified search engines and nowhere near intelligent And megaman aslo has the ability to male decisions and such
Alright, guys; chill. I don't need any arguments, please. To clarify the quote from Dr. Light, it was written on September 18 20XX, about the time he finished with X. X woke at some point in 21XX, and another thing that needs to be considered is that Dr. Light is sealing X away before he dies of old age. AI might be actual shit right now, sure, but at the same time, 20XX could be at literally any point in the 21st century, ranging from January 1 2000 at 12:00 AM until December 31 2099 at 11:59 PM. For all we know, Dr. Light could develop a ton of AI tech by 2056 and we wouldn't know it because by then we're all old as hell and senile and probably all of us are still this grumpy. Now, if you think that X is effectively the same as the original Mega Man or that either of them are as competent as basic AI like Google or any simple Microsoft device, that'd be the farthest from the truth. Rock was incredibly advanced, and actively was able to convince people that he was a human until he said he was a robot. Then he CHOSE to be upgraded for combat, even if he knew it'd be risking his life. While that's not a showcase of AI, this is using his pre-programmed personality to choose what route to take. The rest of the series sees him using his limited programming in extremely ingenious ways. Mega Man finds himself not only defeating Wily, but does so twice, gives him a second shot until he hijacks a gigantic walking mech, manages to uncover two kidnapping plots for which others were framed, not only competed in a freaking Robot Olympics tournament and exposed a trillionaire to just be Dr. Wily again, has him arrested, attempts to take him out for the good of the world and then is conflicted given the three laws of robotics (AND COULDN'T MAKE THE DECISIONS FOR A WHILE BECAUSE HE'S INCREDIBLY LIFELIKE), had a very strange alien encounter, proved Dr. Light's innocence, gave Wily a third chance during the Roboenza pandemic, and even made it pretty clear that he's willing to do whatever it takes to save the world, even if it requires modifying his body even more, and most likely a ton of other extra stuff. Seems pretty damn advanced, doesn't it? Now think about the fact that Dr. Light constructed X for the specific purpose of being UNlimited in his programming, assisted only by an AI and various morality tests. This was not only super risky, but given the technological specs, it's incredibly freakin' impressive. X is supposed to surpass Mega Man in every single way, right? Mega Man, being the advanced machine that he was for Light's second humanoid robot ever, was already a technological marvel. _By that logic, X is so much of a technological marvel that by 21XX, he could shit on Mega Man's abilities pretty easily._ Mega Man X is specifically the most incredible thing of the future. AI in the present can't do jack. Let's do some science and see where we are in a little while, eh? Good luck.
Reimagine all the races Takumi had inside his 86 with X on a Ride Chaser. Similar intense camera angles, super sharp turns, all just to shoot down Mavericks and to save the day.
