  • While visiting Vyborg, we decided to see Monrepo Park, in the northern part of the city. The park has a long history, it belonged to Swedish, then Finnish people, and then the Soviet Union took it in 1944. Unfortunately, by the early 1960s, all the wooden park pavilions, and sculptures, including monuments in the family cemetery, were lost. And nowadays the Russian government decided to restore it.
We went to see how the restoration process goes and enjoy the views.

Thanks for showing us, it's a beautiful park and the weather played along. It would be interesting if you could return after they have renovated the park to show the difference. Did it say how long it will take before the renoiavtion will be completed? Хороший выбор фоновой музыки!

the one thing I have to say is thank you for your commentary in English sorry I don't speak Russian or understand it but observe from part of your life is looks very interesting and beautiful in the UK when we walked across parks or any other areas when the wild squirrels but I think dinner time people generally feed them by hand and also on hot days they will come begging for water if they See You Drinking From a water bottle but then again I would love to come and look at your part of the world women orizon happens or if the opportunity looks good in the future I love the way you describe your history in Great depth the past is in the past and the future is in the future don't worry about nothing xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh. You are so right. Thank You for mention that its old Finland land 😊 Greetings from Finn. I have visited this Park two times. One thing is wrong on your description. It belonged To Finnish/Karelian People all the time until 1944. Of course To Sweden(country also Kalmar union) from the 1293 to 1809 and to the Russia from1809 to 1917.

This is the old classic Finnish song about the park. I know you dont understand anything and I am not to able to translate it to you in Russian(In English maybe but not now). But its beautiful.ruclips.net/video/cSwmUIFgfrE/видео.html

@@NatashasRussia well, if you call example Turku, Helsinki, Oulu, Kuopio, Tampere, Hamina, Lappeenranta and so on equally as Swedish cities then its logical :)

@@NatashasRussia What the Russians (and the modern Swedes - and even the Finns to certain extent) do not seem to understand, is that Sweden before 1809 was the modern Sweden and Finland combined. "Finland" was an integral part of Sweden from the very beginning.
The Finns were Swedes too - or rather Swedes first. Most of the "Swedes" the Russians used to meet by trade or in war were actually from the Eastern part of Sweden (="Finland") and spoke Finnish.
Therefore the "Swedish" time before 1809 in Viipuri and other parts of the robbed Finnish Karelia was in reality Finnish too. The vast majority of the people were always Finns/Karelians, despite of the official language or the name of the country

Dark Dan well Russia is very big. I live in the north-west. So it’s mostly populated by Slavic Russians. We have regions where people with Asian features live. And we have people with Turkic features. But yeah it is quite rare to meet black or brown people here.
