How else was the muslim world created? The islamic uprising was very fast and people fled to other lands just to survive and keep their faith.
Some of my ancestors fled from Persia and moved to India just so they wouldn’t be butchered because they didn’t want to convert. Even in India after there was bloodshed and the land had to be split in 2 other pieces to accommodate muslims.. until east and west Pakistan started to spill their own blood and again India had to get involved and then Bangladesh was created.
Everyone’s history is made by bloodshed but no other religion has been able to split a nation as islam has.
I don’t condone killing but it also works both ways and sometimes the only way to obtain peace is to go to war.
It’s sad but that’s the world we live in. The poor suffer as always.
It’s also no secret that the Jews were on that land well before the creation of islam until they were either kicked out of over generations, converted.

Not all wars are the same. Israel was directly attacked. The Iraqi war was a CIA state-building experiment waged under the pretext of "weapons of mass destruction" that were never found. The war in Afghanistan was arguably more justified, depending on how much involvement one believes Bin Laden and the Taliban really had in blowing up the Trade Towers. I don't see any hypocrisy and supporting what you believe to be a just war and denouncing one you believe to be unjust. If Mr Draiman has been hypocritical, it has been in laying into W, a Republican, for engaging in unjust wars and not saying a peep when two Democrats did the same thing. The "Arab Spring" was nothing more than another Pentagon/CIA meddling under Obama. The current Ukrainian debacle is another version of that under Biden. As much respect as I now have for Draiman, for supporting Israel, I would respect him even more if he would hold Democrats to the same fire he held Republicans to. Anyway, I hope my answer has made it make some sense.

It's a sad reminder that violence as a response to hurt or perceived injustice is ingrained in all of us. Such an ugly self- sustaining cycle that we could never see ourselves supporting until we do. Very sad.

It is only the insistence of forcing a Euro-J-state into the middle-east that is causing all this friction. Have you listened to what he actually said? His view, which I think is charitable to the Palestinians, is that they have been hijacked by Hamas, and that he laments the deaths of civilians. But he correctly states that Hamas has, as its intention, and in its charter (which I can attest I read several years ago), not only the destruction of the state of Israel, but the death of every Jew on Earth. That is not hyperbole.

you can definitely criticize Israel's policies. Please keep in mind that Hamas is using its population as a human shield. This also includes recruiting child soldiers. They fired several thousand rockets from residential areas and wanted to hit residential areas. Any help that goes there, be it food, medicine or money, is taken directly by Hamas and does not let the population see it. I understand that it is a very emotional topic, but don't forget who started the horror.

One can love the Israeli people, be critical of the Israel's conduct and policies toward the Palestinians, support the Palestinian people, and hate Hamas all at once. In my career, I have had the great privilege to work for two national specialty hospitals (primarily cancer treatment and research as well as respiratory and immunology). I have sat with Holocaust survivors who shared with their stories of survival. I am notbanti-Semitic in any way. What happened on October 7, 2023 was disgusting and those that perpetrated great harm against Israel, Hamas, should answer for what they did. The disproportionate campaign against innocent Palestinians and their culture is just as bad, if not worse. Netanyahu has led a campaign of genocide and is a war criminal. There was a better way to go about the Israeli government's response to Hamas. It breaks my heart to see so many on both sides suffer. Palestinian children starving to death and being bombed into oblivion is not the way.
Will that stop me from ever listening to Disturbed again? No, because it's that sort of othering those that have different beliefs is what got us to this point in the first place. I won't be paying for their music, go to a show or buy merch. David is a hypocrite and what he thinks about the deaths of 40,000 innocent Palestinians is gross. He sings songs about the illness of war, but is autographing the instruments of war. Edit: hit send before I was done.
