Hey Clayton! Bro I got the same exact color way of those fly knit Ekiden, you’re going to love them man. Amazing shoe I use them for all my runs. Great shoe, plan on getting a new pair soon, but they’ve done me a lot of good! You’ll like them champ.
I absolutely love these types of videos. Do Nike athletes have a set budget that they can spend from or do they have basically unlimited money for things like this?
So basically the answer to this question is not that I am aware of. So I work at a job at Nike where they have a certain percentage you get off your clothes and special days of like every other month for like two weeks you get a bigger percentage and you can only do it once. But yeah normally i would think that at my store it’s 1 thousand cap for spending?
Can you ask Nike to sort out their supply of racing spikes in Africa please? I’ve been trying to get a pair of dragonfly spikes for months but Nike in South Africa doesn’t have any and don’t answer their phones nor do they enable stores to order these shoes. We have to order online from the Netherlands and get stung with quadruple taxes plus shipping costs and a timeline as long as a piece of string(no given date of arrival) for the shoes to arrive. It’s really poor service of customers here in Africa and I’d like to see our athletes in Cape Town treated to better availability of the best racing shoes.
Do you request anything specific from Nike or do they just send whatever? Like if you like a color way or want more winter clothes or something, do you ask for that?
High school runner here, do you think that it’s a good investment to get vaporflys? I’m a heel runner and I do long distance in track aswell as cross country.
I think investing in good shoes is important but vaporflys aren't for everyone and I've seen some heel runners get injured from wearing them too casually. They work for me well because I strike around my forefoot. Building good running mechanics is more important than the shoe itself. Have some conversation with a coach on how to improve that.
Not sure if you're able to answer: but I'm curious how many years your contracts have been for? Is it year by year or more like other sport contracts for 5-7 years?
How would you compare the Maxfly vs Superfly Elite 2 in respect to the 800m? I am a heavier + forefoot striking 800m runner considering a sprint spike vs. the non-durable air zoom vics.
only really wear superflys during workouts for 300m or under reps. I'm a forefoot runner so i put too much down too much force for the Air Vics in an 8 so you'll usually see me race an 800m in a maxfly. I like the Air Vics though and I've worn them in some 1500's and miles.
If I ran a mile for every time Clayton “adds to the rotation” I’d circle the earth twice
One might say you’d be adding to the rotation twice
saw this on no context💀

love these kinds of videos as well as the running ones. also glad your newborn is doing well! can’t wait to see him in videos 😂
Zoom structure 24’s are my current favorite running shoe for regular runs. The 22’s were better but I still like them
Got to meet Clayton at OHSAA champs Saturday. Super cool dude, and one of my inspirations for both running and running yt video making.

Usually it’s by Olympic cycles (4 years)
All I'll say is that I've been a nike athlete since 2016 so do with that information what you will

What are your thoughts on XC for a 800 m track runner?
Necessary for any good 800m runner. It’s easily the best way to improve your endurance, especially in high school.
I ran XC every year until I turned pro
big XC guy
Yo Clayton I got goals this season to break 5 in the mile any tips
be consistent in base training as you are in-season and get enough sleep. Both major keys to success and staying healthy
Looks like someone is moving up in distance 🎉
nahhh, just finally having a good fall base build for the first time since college
Can you give me any tips to run faster in the mile? My third lap is always slow.
Yeah, just run the third lap faster and you’ll PR
