Thank you for uploading this video. I’m sure that many people who read the book, “Holes” by Louis Sachar which won the Caldecott Medal 21 years ago will remember it well.
Lol bearded dragons are so cute it’s hilarious they used them as “deadly lizards” here 😅 I have one and he’s the most chill guy. I get why they did it but now they’re so common as pets it’s funny to look back on
I love how they used poor bearded dragons make them look so vicious they're literally like the nicest lizards you could possibly have literally like little golden retrievers😂
I read the book before but never finished, so I bought the book 3 months before pandemic. Then when the pandemic happened, I finished the book and finished the whole film. Since I never finished the whole film also. But good book, and movie.
Great adaptation of the book imo, one of the best. Disney’s adaptation of books have been mixed, Holes and Narnia were well done, then we have Artemis Fowl…
Hi just wanted to let you know that most of the lizards were 3d animated yes there were some painted one but they could not stand up or run on two legs have teeth it was a lot of work but we had fun. Best William
Holes is my favorite Disney film of all time! I always thought they should've done 2 sequels though. It could've went like this... 1. Holes. 2. ButtHoles. 3. AssHoles: The stink returns.
I remember buying the book for my daughter. I read the first chapter and I was hooked. Read the book on a weekend and was not disappointed. When we heard it was going to be a movie🤩! We even bought the dvd! It's so well written and the movie...Excellent. Thank you Louis S.
I have known this movie since 2006. Now I was a sick kid, and had a lot of surgeries, and was home bound for most of my life, and took Home school from a teacher that came out to see me. We did try to letme go to school some, for a couple classes. IN NINTH GRADE, I and a teacher in English 1 named Linda Clark. She gave us the book Holes. Being that I'm blind, I had it on Audio disc, and will never forget the day I read it. I was going for surgery the next day, and was already sick, with a lung infection. I WAS SICK!! But this surgery needed to get done, and I was on a ventilator, so that allowed me to be suctioned with a smaller tube that was inserted through the breathing tube, connected to the ventilator. Anyhow, I was so sick I slept all of the time, but I put the first disc into my CD player, and Lied down to listen. I was able to remain awake through all four discs. I was gagging and coughing, but I will never forget listening to that book! It was a book unlike any other. Listening to how Stanley Yelnats got to camp green lake, learning about the curse, learning about all the boys in D Tent, learning about the gruelling long and hot days that they lived with every single day, learning about the Warden, Mr. Sir, Mr. Pendanski, or however you spell his name, Learning about the Warden's Rattlesnake Venom in dark red nail polish, learning about Kate Barlow, and Sam the Onion man, Learning about their donkey Maryloo, How Sam was killed, and How she had esentially wished she was dead after Sam and Maryloo were killed, and then On Zig Zag's Birthday, he gets into a fight, when Hector was learning to read, and had taken up digging Stanley's Hole, Then Zig Zag starts attacking Stanley, and Hector pulls Zig Zag off, and then Mr. Pendanski fires his gun, as now it's a real mess. The warden comes out, and all the other counselors, and Stanley is told that He's not to teach Zero to Read, and Stanely is to dig his own hole. Then Hector strikes Mr. Pendanski with the Shovel, and runs, and then Twitch comes to replace Hector, as Hector is gone, but Stanley cares enough about Hector, and worries about him, which leads him to drive the water truck, which doesn't go so well, and then the water truck ends up stuck in a hole. But Stanley finds Hector off in the distance, and they climb up the mountain, at the end Stanley LITERALLY CARRYING HIM UP THE MOUNTAIN, which is a key part here. But Hector is so weak, and Stanley doesn't know what's wrong with him, but worries that It could be the Sploosh. And then Stanley discovers Onions, and Water, He sings to Hector after Hector tells him that He is the one who stole the shoes. Stanley and Hector find refuge at the large rock, which from far off looked like a Thumb to Stanley! One night, when Hector is doing much better, him and Stanley go down the mountain, with Onions, and the glass jars that Hector found the Sploosh in. They go to where Stanley found that tube of Lipstick, and they decide to dig a hole. Well they find the large case that has "STANLEY YELNATS," written on it!" And then the counselors come out, and the Yellow Spotted Lizzards are all over Stanley and Hector, but they don't bite them. They all are terrified, and Mr. Sir who had been eating sunflower seeds and who gave up smoking, is so terified He smokes. And then that morning, Stanley's lawyer is back, and the Warden is making up stories about how they broken into her cabbin, and stole the case, which was a definite lie. Stanley and Hector eventually manage to get out of the hole, and the Warden is telling Stanley to open the Case, but his Lawyer STRONGLY ADVISES, him not to open it. Then when it's time for Stanley to leave, He doesn't want to Leave Hector behind, and so the Lawyer orders the counselors to bring her Hector's files, but The Warden had ordered them to be destroyed back when Hector ran after striking Mr. Pendanski with the shovel. So Now the lawyer is FURIOUS, and is finally like "Hector? You're coming with us!" Stanley and Hector leave, and Camp Green lake is closed, the Warden and the other counselors are under investigation, Camp green lake becomes a girl scout camp, the Case is opened at Stanley's Father's house, and there's a whole lot of Treasure essentially. Hector finds his Mom, and the famous Baseball player Clide Livingston is there at Stanley's house to watch the Sploosh Advertisement, as while Stanley and Hector was at Camp Green Lake, Stanley's Father finds a cure for Foot Odder. and that cure? SPLOOSH!! And then Hector's Mother can be found singing to him! I FELL IN LOVE WITH THAT BOOK!!! SERIOUSLY!!! I had the surgery and recovered well, and through the recovery listened to that book, OVER, and OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, and OVER again!! A couple months later during another illness, I asked if the School had the MOVIE, as my nephew David said He'd watched the Movie, and I was Like, "It's gotta be at my school!" Well they did have the movie, and I borrowed it. I was sick all that winter, but I watched that movie sooooo many times, my Home school teacher watched it, because I made him, He got me the movie for Christmas, because the Movie from the school had to go back. AND THEN, Mom watched it, my nephew, and my Niece watched it, and a whole bunch of other people in my family watched it! Let's just say, that Book has had a MASSIVE impact on my life. Tomorrow, I'm taking the TV from my younger brother, and I'm watching Holes again!! AND AGAIN! AND AGAIN! AND AGAIN! AND AGAIN!! Cause When I watch Holes, or Read it, I do it AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN!!" Thank you Louis Sachar! Thank you to all the producers, that made this book, and movie possible! You will never know how much of an impact it's had in my life!
I love the fact that they didn’t actually use a stage they filmed it right in the desert I never knew that they probably made some good money for this movie
Lol. Typically people don’t watch behind the scenes stuff unless they’ve seen the movie. Hence the recommendation you got for this video after you saw the movie.
Holes is by far the most underrated live action Disney movie
By far definitely
It’s also one of the best book to film adaptations ever in my opinion.

I read the book and saw the movie
Hey did you know Stanley Yelnats spelled backwards spells Stanley Yelnats!
The Holes and the Dark Side of Hollywood
YES YOU DID IT
It fun a movie.😁
i saw this movie in 6 grade
The narrator pronounces Louis Sachar's surname wrong. It's not "Satcher". It's supposed to be pronounced to rhyme with "soccer".
Hopefully child protection services doesn't see this video 😂 Amazing movie, though. I feel like it doesn't get nearly enough credit.
It’s still a good movie
Back when Disney movies were original. Mark my words. They WILL remake Holes within the next 10 years.
Did you know that holes was based on a book?
Holes is my favorite Disney film of all time!
