- The final beta test for upcoming looter shooter First Descendant is coming up soon! May 25th - 26th the shooter will be up and online for PC ONLY. This is the last test before release and we may get to see some cool new features ahead of time.

My Friends and I had so much fun doing the last betas, I was so excited to see we get one more before launch. I am hoping it will be late June early July for full release as I wanna really enjoy Destiny 2 TFS first.

Ive been dying for this game since the first beta. Finally almost here.
This game has A LOT to prove in the looter shooter space. Only time will tell if it can capture and sustain the short attention span of gamers that play looter shooters. You have a simple, yet fun, game in HellDivers that has been sustaining a top 5 spot on the Steam
Charts. D2, HellDivers, etc, is a lot of competition.
i dont think people who have short attention span even play looter shooters, its more if you try it and like it you keep playing and after some time the game forms a stable playerbase

Tired of waiting and I don't want to get my hopes up, I'll wait for full release.
I think if everything goes smoothly they will surprise run us right into a server refresh, update the missing stuff in and launch. They could sneak in before any of the big stuff comes out, grab an audience and then when the big stuff starts getting old or even in smaller sessions as a side game they could grab a decent audience. I play Destiny, we waiting on a drop buff on the 28th so a lot of wouldn't mind playing something else for a bit before we get sucked back in to Destiny.
Saying that Dawntrail isn't going to be big is something else entirely considering it's currently the number 1 mmo. But I feel July is going to be the month aswell depending on how smooth this test is.

played the last beta. great game. only problem i have is with the grappling hook. id prefer hover/rocket boots or something like that. (game called Firefall had them if anyone remembers that game)

Ive played all these games vulkan mentioned and non surpass the FF14 player base even before coming to the xbox but i forgive you for it not being you’re preferred mmo.

Cant be a server load test if you only have a third of your player base allowed to participate in the beta. What load? Different consoles and pc types, different bandwiths, different paths to supply and receive data.

Your take about competing game in the potential release window isn't logical: Destiny 2 will attract 0 new players with that update and while it is a competitor, it's been in a terrible place according to its own players for a long time now. Elden Ring has absolutely nothing to do with this game, Looter Shooters and soulslike can safely be launched in the same window (not the exact same date) and if your game is solid, it will do well. Things like Monster Hunter stories etc... isnt even worth mentionning. If you're saying they would have been better off striking early and release mid May (nowish) to avoid all that, then yes, that would make sense.

Unless they did a MASSIVE overhaul to the entire game like the world, questing etc. they may as well just can it before release because it will bomb.

Bit of a shame this playtest can't be for a week but I'll see how it goes and watch the reviews and take note. I've already pre ordered Destiny 2 Final Shape as that looks like Bungie has pulled out all stops but I'm super hopeful for this game as the alpha was actually a lot of fun so hopefully it's not like Anthem. People having a cry about Destiny 2, nobody misses you in that game so just move on 🤣🤦🏻♂️🤣

Played all the beta tests on pc and on psn and I'm really happy for this game. It could be Helldivers big if done right and they take the proper time for it to be as bug free and stable as possible when the full release finally happens.

June would be awesome, Not everyone plays those games you mentioned, This game from playing in the beta is far better than Destiney, Played it for years, Bunge changes to much that don't need to be changed, I don't get why gamers post videos of why they think game developers should wait to release a title because of some of title, There is always a game going to be competing for play time with other titles, But not everyone plays every title, Souls like games aren't going to compete with non souls genre.

I'm not trying to sound typical,but without a doubt this game would definitely steal the show in June!!! Because right now,Destiny 2 is garbage!!! But Elden Ring is doing absolutely well and we'll be hard to compete that much is true! But however,this game has absolutely everything a player would ever want in a good high-powered 3rd person shooter having action adventure game!!! So it will do absolutely well,at least that's from my perspective...

I mean yeah probably, but besides Warframe, D2 is one of the best ongoing Looter Shooters rn. I really liked The First Descendant, but it'll most likely not have enough varying content to keep most people playing. Also people who just play D2 and nothing else treat it too much like a (2nd) job.

funny you mention destiny 2 iv just decided to quit for good after a hacker was flying miles up un the sky with unlimited promethea lens, I'm beyond tired of d2 and it's massive hacker community.

Both amazing games that died off too early... hopefully this one lasts the distance but considering there are only preset characters and the endgame looks like grinding for character skins...I'm worried no amount of flashy graphics and tight spandex clad girls can keep interest up for long after the initial hype.

Played it for 4 Hour and i feel kinda dissapointed.
The UI is kinda a copy of Destiny or Warframe.
I Feel like i am playing Destiny or Warframe "Overall", its closest the same game it another name...
There are certain diferent things, but i dont feel is enough to keep cative the players.

Wait, you said that FFXIV Dawntrail is smaller than next Destiny DLC? You are clueless, FFXIV playerbase is huge and every new expansion get millions of concurrent players

"they can always patch that stuff up after". that's the thing too, nowadays its about first impression and getting the big reel from players. than risk players never coming back because they've moved on to something else. its about the first big initial hit.

played the previous demo, was complete dogshit honestly. unless they went on and created a whole new game, there is nothing to be excited about.
Harsh way to put it...but I agree that they needed to really beef up the gameplay and story. The whole thing felt like an arcade game that you used to slot coins into for 5min play sessions. I personally think they should allow you to create your own character, every successful looter ties you to your character and the loot you collect, having preset characters just kills a big part of the attraction for me personally. Though I want the game to be good and I'll be paying close attention to it as it comes out.
