I dont want you to hear this as an "Im an awesome goalie myself" comment. But i couldnt help but notice you dont project your glove hand much. The whole video its often tucked into your body. Watch your video and you will see what i mean. You appeared to miss some saves by not having your glove hand out and forward. You appear to rest your glove on your left pad. Just thought you would want to know. With that said you made an awesome glove save at the end of your vid! The times when i have also recorded myself i saw things i didnt notice i was doing, so just want you to know from one beer league goalie to another, saw something but keep grinding my man!. Great video man, keep up the good work. You got a new subscriber!
True! I’ve noticed this also in the footage, but it’s not all true. I could do it better but I use my glove resting down and activate the hand up a little as a shot is coming. It’s hard to see in the video shot from behind. This is because I have wrist issues. They’re very stiff and not flexible for some reason. It’s almost impossible for me to hold my glove as commonly taught. I want to hold my elbow tucked in and that makes it even harder but eliminates leaking from the side. I’ve been thinking of trying keeping the glove more open to the play and not too much facing the ice. Thanks for the elaborate comment Scott!
I can imagine the crazy amount of slide it gives. I would like it from post to post, which in my opinion most the play goes these days. Only big problem I see is trying to micro shuffle. I have some slide tape I use during summer roller. Maybe I'll try it out on the ice like that. You know just the knee blocks
I was using slide plates for more than a year, but still have overslide issues with dekes... Anyone with similar experience? Will try normal pads again for a couple of games...
@@GoalDirtyBastard I am mainly curious how they would help you slide if you are on really really chopped up ice... The Ice here is often very soft and when you use 1/2 cut on your blade it tends to get very choppy fast.
@@wallzy-goaltending My experience so far is that despite the ice quality the slide feels like ”wet ice” on regular pads. The slide doesn’t really get worse as the game goes on. That’s an improvement over normal pads.
@@wallzy-goaltending but we have pretty good ice during the winter. Summertime it gets softer. I hate when they flood the ice too much and the crease is a pool at the beginning.
Goal Dirty Bastard is, without a doubt, the best possible name for a goalie channel. Instant subscribe.
I have G4s that are over six years old now and are hard to slide in, even with lubricant. Thanks for this video - I'm gonna get the slide plates!
Great! Let me know how you like them. Just beware, it's a huge change from old pads!
@@GoalDirtyBastard Yeah, I tried them once a few years ago and had to adjust how hard I was pushing. I didn't need them then, but definitely do now.
Looks beneficial in the long run. Just need to get used to it. Good that it fits older gen Warrior pads.

Thx, I am looking to get a set for my G4.
New sub here. Looking good out there. Look forward to checking out more on your channel

You’re right! Shuffling is hard with reduced traction.

I've been eyeing these for my Vaughn ventus slr pro
Would they fit?
@@GoalDirtyBastard no clue. Haven't pulled the trigger on them. 😂
I hate the slide plates, I feel like I'm going to tear my groin when using them lol
I’ve used them three times now. Starting to feel better about it now.

@@GoalDirtyBastard I will find out in a week how much different finnish ice is
I don't see how they help honestly. Micro movements and butterfly play looks so hard to control...
Pretty soon the pads will be invisible
