I used to run a Nursing home. Many sweet spirits that had dementia showed such a clear recognition of this and many other sacred hymns. We knew them long before we came to earth amd we will once again communicate in heaven through song and music. It is eternal proof we are ALL Children of the Most High God.
I love this song. This is the first time I heard it. I am not Mormon, but I love the music. I belong to the Episcopal Church. The hymns sound very familiar. I like to think I will see my parents in heaven. My father passed away in 2011 at 87 and my mother in 2016 at 88. I have 3 sons and 2 grandsons. Family is important.
As a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) I can assure you that you will see your parents again in paradise. This song reminds me of my mother as well. I feel her spirit with me regularly. She was devout Catholic. God Bless you Donna. And your parents on the other side of the veil as well. Jesus loves you.
You will see them again! I can not wait for the time to come to see my father again who died when i was 12 yr old. I am truly comforted for the knowledge of the Plan of Salavation that our dear Father in Heaven provided for us. Family can be together forever... I love the church and the Tabernacle choir!
Love the reminder of how God takes care of all the little things. If He takes care of such a small and insignificant thing (in our eyes) as a Lilly, how much more do you think He cares for us, His children? "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God."
My mom passed away 4 years ago. She n I listen to it numerous time on Sunday . Now my husband n I listen to it as we get ready for church on Sunday’s 💖🙏🏻💖
Thank you for those words i needed to hear them after many trials ive decided im not giving up because my saviour and heavenly father have not given up on any of us . Such truths are beautiful to know god bless you my friend .
My mother has Dementia. She can't remember very much at all....but when I play this song and we watch the video....she remembers all the words. These are the greatest moments of my life and I will treasure them forever!
So wonderful what music can do for the soul. It is so uplifting and soothes the savage beast so to speak. Music can be said to heal the soul and it lifts my spirits. It's wonderful that your mother can still know that song
I love this Easter hymn because it's telling us that Jesus knows us all by name and love's us all equally and unconditionally. Perfect, pure love. Eternal love.
This song was given to me by angels, who were wiping away my tears as I was coming to grips with my mother's passing. When I hear it I am comforted even as tears stream down my face. I know she is with God. I love you, Mom!!!
This song has always spoken to my heart. Reminds me of how aware our Father in Heaven is of us and everything will turn out okay even when my world is falling apart. Thank you, Father for this beautiful reminder of your all encompassing love and mercy towards us.
I have a very similar story, my mom passed unexpectedly when I was 19. This was one of her absolute favorite songs, she would play it on the piano and sing along while I sat next to her and listened. Twenty years later and I still can't hear it without it instantly bringing me to my knees.
Such a beautiful song. My father in law had this song at his funeral. Everytime I here it reminds me of him and the great life that he lived. It always brings peace to my soul. I know that our Father in Heaven lives and loves us all
I love ❤️ lilies!!! Most beautiful created by Our Lord God 🙏 ❤️ 💖like everything in this amazing world 🌎 full of Our Father Our King Our Lord God Love ❤️ blessings 🙌 🙏 to all people 🙌
I know this was Sister Monson's favorite song & it was sung at her funeral at the Conference Center. What a beautiful , truly beautiful song . Always reminds me of Sis Monson 💗
I love this song so much! The peace it brings to my soul is incredible. I actually live next door to the guy who wrote this song and he and his wife are some of the sweetest people on the planet. I especially love the verse about the "sweet, tender children who must suffer on this earth." It makes me think of all the sweet children in my life and how God protects them, as well as those sweet, tender children who are so blessed as not to suffer on this earth because their time here is so brief, which breaks my heart but I know that God watches over them as well. Thank you, Tabernacle Choir!
My mother passed a few weeks ago and I feel the same way. My father passed 35 years ago next month and to know they are together again fills my heart with joy. Even so, I still miss them so much and always will until it's my turn to be with them again.
Gary Stafford Thank you for your beautiful words. My parents have passed away and I miss them terribly. I hope you are correct and that they are together and waiting for me to join them. Sometimes that is all I have to hang on to. Thank you.
Oh how I want to become like Jesus when I hear the lovely strains of this music! He IS the Lord of all the earth and his love knows no bounds or respect for persons. I'm thankful for this inspired choir!
This song by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is beyond words......It Tugs at the Heart Strings and lifts up the Soul to Love God and the things that Jesus Taught to this World....This is such a Hard and Cruel World at times and it's songs and words like these that make Us More Strong and makes Me want to be a better Person ......I desire to have the Spirit Within Me, regardless of circumstances of My Life or what the rest of My Life has in store for Me. I can't deny the Spirit of this Choir.
When I consider al the lovely things God has created, among them are the musical treasures. If you want to get close to the emotions and feelings of our Lord and His Son, we can do no better than letting them in our souls while listening to these treasures.
Consider the lilies of the field, How they grow, how they grow. Consider the birds in the sky, How they fly, how they fly. He clothes the lilies of the field. He feeds the birds in the sky. And He will feed those who trust Him, And guide them with His eye. Consider the sheep of His fold, How they follow where He leads. Though the path may wind across the mountains, He knows the meadows where they feed. He clothes the lilies of the field. He feeds the birds in the sky, And He will feed those who trust Him, And guide them with His eye. Consider the sweet, tender children Who must suffer on this earth. The pains of all of them He carried From the day of His birth. He clothes the lilies of the field, He feeds the lambs in His fold, And He will heal those who trust Him, And make their hearts as gold. He clothes the lilies of the field, He feeds the lambs in His fold, And He will heal those who trust Him, And make their hearts as gold.
My sister-in-law played this and sang this at my father's funeral last June. I can't get through this song without blubbering. It stirs the deepest feelings of my soul with gratitude for what our Redeemer has done and continues to do for us. I have full faith, if I am faithful to the end, I can see my dad again. I miss him and this song will always remind of him and my mom (it's her favorite song).
After 20 years in public education, from a Bilingual Aide (2 year mission in Venezuela back when it was a Pais Para Querer) to teaching ESL in the Alief ISD, I have learned there is nothing prettier than a childrens smile nor more sweet sounding than that of a childs´ laughter
Monson's funeral and this is one of them. Thank you, Mormon Tabernacle Choir, for sharing your talents with us. O' Divine Redeemer and Dear to the Heart of the Shepard: absolutely glorious and motivating messages of faith and love for our brothers and sisters.
Listening to this makes me miss our dear late prophet President Thomas S. Monson. I am so comforted knowing that the Lord's work in his church here on earth does not stop in the event of death of leadership. This church will never be removed from the earth again, neither will the priesthood power given to the men of the earth. Whenever I hear this song, I feel as though I can see President Monson in heaven reunited with his wonderful wife, Francis. So much confort comes from this gospel, including knowing that there IS life after death.
I love this hymn, It is so beautiful. I'm a social worker and when I play the hymns to my clients who have dementia it brightens their souls and the words come back from their memory and they sing. These are precious moments.
Amen
What a reminder that The Savior and God the Father loves us so! The lyrics so lift my spirits, and causes a desire to learn more of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank MTC and Orchestra At Temple Square. How I long to visit SLC and take in the sights.
I remember we sung that song in one of our STAKE CONFERENCE AT CABANATUAN STAKE PHIL.I REALLY FELT THE SPIRIT..i remember i cry during i sing.thank tabernacle choir.
This song brings me closer to Christ. Makes me want to love as He loves. I'm going through a difficult time in my life and this song helps me get through each day.
Hi, I too am a Latter-day Saint and find many things in life a struggle. I find strength in the Lord and comfort through music, and look to Ephesians 4:13 and Revelation 21:4 also to help me through.
When this hymn comes on my iPod as I hike, all is well, so well. What a beautiful blessing. Choral music is so good for the soul, heart & mind, for the day, for the night, for the young & old, for the grateful or cold. Thank you, writers, arrangers, singers, musicians, and all who seek & listen to the beauty.
Placing all of the spectacular talent aside, I thank you, expressing my gratitude, to each of you, for conducting your lives in such a manner, of honor, virtue and integrity, which qualifies, you all, to stand tall, using your gifts and talents, to honor our Father in Heaven and our King Jesus Christ....................God bless you all. Bravoooooooooooooooooooo, Father's Finest, Bravoooooooooooooooooooooo
My parents have been in the choir since I was 9; for years I have spent the few weeks before Christmas missing their presence, and they usually couldn't come to my school performances because of the practice that took most of the night every Thursday and sometimes Tuesday. They are in this video. I am now moved out and on my own. They recently, prayerfully decided to leave choir to spend more time with my two younger siblings for their last few years at home. Having them in choir was such a sacrifice that was challenging at times. But, now that they are gone, I miss it. I will miss seeing their faces on TV and the blessings that sacrifice brought; I will miss hearing their testimony in their song. Your gratitude touched my heart. It was hard, but I am so grateful for their example and that they could spread the love of God to others like you. Thank you for your gratitude. It made my day a little brighter :)
Dear Miss Karen, thank you for taking the time, expending the energy and for your sweet willingness, to summon, such tender feelings, you have placed, way back in your heart. Far too often, with in the one true living church, the children, of those called upon to serve, regardless of the motivation, e.g. being called to serve as a bishop, or being motivated to not hide your light under a bushel and step up, to stand tall, in representing Father's finest choir, ever assembled, short of the heavenly choir, that was present, to usher in the birth of our Lord and Savior, have essentially become, what I have learned to call, affectionately, steeped in pain, leadership orphans. My point, in replying.....Miss Karen, the lesson you have so poignantly learned, at the expense of your tender heart, is this.............regardless of your willingness to serve Father and Jesus, take your future children with you, send your future children out the door, with your future sweetheart and partner/companion, be crystal clear in your communication, to your children, to help them, not know, but understand, they are safe, they are loved, they are extremely important, they truly come first, and that your willingness, to serve the one true living God, is how you, honor Father, for sending your most precious gems, your children, to you, for entrusting you, with them..........help them "understand", that by accompanying your sweetheart, your children can see, who benefits, by having you, or your sweetheart serve them, be there for them. Help them by continual crystal clear communication, to help them "understand", help them be there, to feel, the sweet reward of standing tall, to reach down help the least of us up........help them "understand" that, visiting teachers and home teachers, are Father's first line of defense.........I can remember seeing, longing for my Dad, as he was bishop and served in three different bishoprics, as he continually was, leaving us, to help others put out their fire, all the while, I am screaming inside, what about our fire, our need, had I, had a dad, that was willing to communicate openly, include us, willing to share, the experience, I would not have needed, as much, of the sacred healing, of the Saviors atonement and the healing balm of Gilead. Miss Karen, draw your darling future children close and help them "understand" to be proud, that, their daddy and mommy, are willing to stand tall, on behalf of Father and Jesus. I do hope this finds you, happy, healthy and thriving. go with God Stand tall continually God bless you Miss Karen
I sang this beautiful song in our choir bk in NZ 10yrs ago and it was so beautiful and tears in my eyes now bcoz I think of my unforgettable mom who raised me up...thank you to this amazing choir
I LOVE THIS SONG it is so peaceful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reminds me that all creations are Gods' and that He considers all things beautiful. Indeed, beautiful is this hymn and reflective of His wonders. It brings me comfort too when things are rough.
Wonderful, although my late mother was never very keen on that bible verse. She thought "the Lord helps those who help themselves" was truer. If we toil not nor spin we tend to starve to death so I would not take this one too literally. Gorgeous singing as ever. Thank you.
Me dá paz!!!

Family is eternal which is why it is so important. It is all we keep when when we leave this Earth.

I do hope this finds you, happy, healthy and thriving.
go with God
Stand tall continually
God bless you Miss Karen

This was one of President Monson's favorite hymns. The choir performed this at his funeral.
I go Church ⛪️ of Christ but love the melody of the Mormon church
Wonderful, although my late mother was never very keen on that bible verse. She thought "the Lord helps those who help themselves" was truer. If we toil not nor spin we tend to starve to death so I would not take this one too literally. Gorgeous singing as ever. Thank you.
Me dá paz!!!
We can feel God's love inspire us.
