Returning player from NA. I used to play when 1370 ilvl was considered good as a free player when some whales were 1400ish (Just after argos patch). I had Blue GL and it seemed to be pretty nice for progressing thru new and hard content. I have a couple weeks left on the south vern pass and IDK who to go with, whether I should just manually upgrade my GL or if I should powerpass another class. Questions: 1) based off this vid it appears to me Blue GL is still pretty good since it's less conditional than red and can still keep up in DPS. Would you say in a real world scenario, blue GL can match red GL in total damage? 2) would you recommend staying blue GL? Or is the destruction and synergy uptime more important with red GL? 3) are GLs still very wanted? I was thinking about south vern power passing a fresh class, something high dps + versatile + good synergy (scrapper) or something like an AT scouter for fun. Thoughts?
Depends on uptime. Blue can keep up with red on gates with high uptime, but the faster you push, the more red pulls ahead. Also, bosses with lots of downtime/DR mechs favor red.
@@KyokujunkIn my exp, at equivalent build & skill, blue GL wins always at dpsing whether on buses, fast reclears (even going phase to phase) or guardians This remains logical since the red GL provides more utility
The faster you push the more red should pull ahead in theory, since blue needs more uptime to make up for the loss in burst. But red also has a much higher skill floor, so the ceiling is harder to reach.@@alexandre2849
Spec/swift is not representative of actual dps, because with 15% crit you did 0 crit. This is for a burst test, spec/swift lay in the fact that you have low cd with boundless and swift so your buff are perma up and you have so low cd. In utility I think spec/swift with nightmare 4 and dominion 2 is the best overall, nightmare 6 second if you want to pump decent dmg.
Even with a few crits here and there, it's the lowest burst of all the classes, and most bosses are not gonna give you uninterrupted 20s long DPS windows for boundless anyway. In every raid parse I've ever done, swift performed worse than the other variants. In real raid conditions, you usually won't be able to stay in boundless long enough for it to actually do good damage. Bosses will transition long before you can get good value out of it outside of a few high uptime gates like Kay G1 and the old Prokel fight. Most of Korea has swapped to Hallucination for blue at this point due to it front loading its damage better and synergizing with crit elixirs. I've literally never seen anyone running 2 dominion on bluelancer ever. That plus the recent mana cost changes to blue in KR actually made boundless bluelancer even worse because it's harder to maintain now, while simultaneously making hallucination better with lower costs. Also, shout already has near 100% uptime with a spec/crit build (around 2-3s downtime), and having your nella's uptime improve a bit doesn't seem worth losing millions of DPS.
@@Kyokujunk Well I would beg to differ I have the 3 build on my gl, i have hallu kbw the spec/crit nightmare and finally this one, with the same stats and same gems. True you deal less but in voldis, I have a 98% uptime (don't ask how I know XD) from g1 to g4 there's no downtime unless you need to do mechs and that's for everyone. In g4 especially I'm always getting boundless because I just take everything unless it's detrimental to my teammates. This week I go back to hallu kbw because I have the lvl 35 set of elixirs but for prog having that swiftness build and the extra expertise from the auto attack effect on bracelet (use auto attack and you get like 140 expertise) made it so much easier, took us 1h30 to clear it because high stagger and perma buffed party. Spamming skills : higher stagger.
I just don't think it's worth the loss in damage. Boundless already takes like 10-20s to enter. In the meantime, you're losing out on all the crit you would get from the other builds -- plus, if the boss happens to do a pattern where they leave like in G4, then most of the boundless duration gets wasted. Also, boundless is pointless in G2, since you already have insane CDR from the blood buff to the point where you can just spam GT and leap over and over, which also benefits the burst heavy nature of Hallu more. That gate heavily favors burst specs in general due to the way the buff works. @@rolly97420
@@Kyokujunk true for g2 but frankly it's a princess maker build almost, my teammates have huge dps and having every boss being staggered almost every time taunted and not moving made the fight much easier, true I lose dps but my teammates doesn't struggle to land and have better buffs. Overall we dealt much more dmg than if I just use hallu simply because of longer cd and less stagger. And I get boundless pretty fast with this build, switfness build : faster loss of mana and no focus runes on nella and shout of hatred.
@@rolly97420 My other issue with boundless is that it loses more and more value as raids go on farm and people push through phases faster and faster. At that point, quick burst matters more than sustained damage, which is why red traditionally parsed better than blue even if their Trixion DPS was similar. Try doing Akkan with a juiced group at 1620, for example. He ends up getting pushed so fast through phases, you don't even have time to build boundless, or even if you do, he'll phase right away to DR mech and then you have to rebuild it again already.
Just unlucky. DPS would be closer to 15-16m with the 15% crit rate actually proccing. Still the lowest overall of all the blue builds 'cause you're gonna be seeing mostly white numbers.
Thanks for comparing both builds! Looks like blue is overall more reliable.
