This is the best video I've seen on YT re: peeling rutabaga. We make them every year for Thanksgiving (and sometimes Christmas). I've been peeling them for years and I completely concur with your method of peeling it. Some of these videos showing people peeling rutabagas with vegetable peelers are way "off base". No way the typical "potato peeler" will work with a rutabaga. Thanks for the video.

Why not? I've been using a spud peeler on rutabaga for years. Of course I treat my peeler with respect.....just like I do all my knives. It's very sharp.

Terrific video. Agree with @williamryan3072 that this is the best one I've seen on how to deal with rutabagas. Thank you!

That has to be the sharpest knife ever! I love rutabaga but never fix it cuz it’s so hard to peel

I want to know what knife that is... because... um... even my brand new ceramic knife doesn't cut a rutabaga like that... lol

I haven't tasted it in over 60 years. I gave it a bad review the first time even though my mother was a master chef. Maybe I should try it again? I didn't like cheese back then either.

Yes you did it fast with your big knife but you lost some rutabaga with those thick slices.
