  • In this World Shared Practice Forum podcast, Dr. Robinder Khemani discusses the new Second Pediatric Acute Lung Injury Consensus Conference (PALICC-2) guidelines, describing important changes from the previous PALICC guidelines and highlighting topics such as non-invasive ventilation, patient self-inflicted lung injury, and strategies for monitoring the breathing of a patient who is receiving invasive mechanical ventilation.

    Very nice talk and clear summary - thank you Robi. I would be interested if there is any data how often zero-flow conditions are no met at the end of inspiration during pressure control ventilation in pediatrics. I am sure this is a common problem in patients with obstructive disease, but how common is it in patients with restrictive lung disease such as ARDS? It might be valuable to perform an observational study across PICU's to look at that in greater detail.
