- I don’t know why but after uploading some of the additional info text in the video got jumped forward a few seconds and it was either scrap the whole video or let y’all consider it cheat notes for the next few moments.
I dunno if I made the right choice but here ya go.
Oh yeah, I’m installing Lori Deadbolts on metal doors in this video. ;)
It has come to my attention through the various comments and wildly humorous amount of dislikes on this video that people don’t understand many of our videos are vlog style.
Since MANY of y’all are so dang impatient and feel the need to dislike or complain about how long it takes in this video to get to that FREE KNOWLEDGE you’re here for it is a EXTREMELY simple matter to go to 27:34 in the video and watch from there.
Thank you. Carry on with your thumbs down 🙄
I watched the video first and saw that dislikes afterwards, confused as to why lol
You make money off these videos and RUclips sells our data to pay you. So no, it's not free knowledge.
What a good impression is all about and You sir have made a good impression. At first I was thinking it was like a KO sets for electrical metal boxes...but NO it's an IMPRESSION TOOL 👍
I just love how people share the knowledge on RUclips. Good job!
Love the giant cockroach crawling on the wall of the rib place. 7:00. 😂😂😂
IDK who's giving you a hard time about using those pliers.... But being a mechanic for the last 23 years, I 100% support, validate, n vouch for knipex, n your use of them. Channel lock was down graded to 2nd choice immediately after using once. They will tear metal from cast iron pipe before they slip. Lots of respect for people that value quality tools. N yeah, that's a grade 5 bolt (3 Slashes). 5 indicates a gr. 8.
The fact that you did this with no guide jig is impressive! lol
I myself have never installed a like that before. Thank you for the lesson.
I always get these mini heart attacks when ur jobs don't go as planned! Yet u always find a way to modify.... The worst was when u had to pick open those tubular vending locks.... I was sweating through the phone :p
Funny seeing that wooden hole plug collection. Lol. Guess we all have our quirky habits. Speaking of wooden door pucks. You really need to get the Spider Hole Saw Bit. It uses just four carbide teeth and can cleanly cut though wooden doors in seconds. I’ll never use a regular hole saw again on wooden doors. BTW. I really got to get me one of those Squeeze Play jigs. Awesome Tool.
Glad you liked the ratchet. It will also help to hold off the arthritis.
Can I please ask for your opinion. Our wrought iron gate to the backyard, was damaged by our pool guy, as he left and slammed it hard, several times, after we told him, we no longer will use his pool company.
The strike plate is missing and there is only the hole in the gate there. It's hollow, where the strike plate would go. I'm confused on how to drill a strike plate back on, that part of the gate. What do you do when its hollow inside the bar? Maybe get a completely different type of locking system? But the 2 deadlock holes would show. Thank you for your time. You are the only one who showed me the 50 different types of strike plates. .So thanks again.

Great video. I learned alot from watching you. Im a maintenance worker and my union provides lots of classes for aspiring locksmiths, but none of them provide lessons on metal doors and frames. Thank you for posting these detailed videos. I just wish I knew the name of that tool you use to squeeze space for the deadbolt fitting.
Poe Squeeze Play
43:35 - Me anytime I do a project 😂 oop I forgot something, gotta go grab it x5 😂
I’m curious as to why you didn’t use a jig to bore the door.
With the "Squeeze Play" do you only do that when the fit is tight? Or do you do all metal doors like that?
I always liked Lori deadbolts. Where do u get yours. Thanks James estep locksmith co n tennessee
some nice work on those doors. i learned some new things. interesting video, thanks for sharing
This is great I always wanted to see a demo of how the squeeze play works.
I’ve got a few more videos floating around on it!
here’s one ruclips.net/video/HU0tVxmiR3E/видео.html search term “selockandkey squeeze”
I always liked Lori deadbolts. It’s hard to find them. Where do u get yours. Thanks James estep locksmith co n tennessee
Great👍I did my metal house door has foam inside.
I bought the drill kit bimetal hole saw with plastic template. I went slow but it wobbled and broke the center bit on hole saw.
Now the center hole was off. Yikes.
I tryed a new bit and it wobbled so i did reverse worked slowly and i got threw both sides ok.
i think if there was a wood backer block it would have held the bit better.
Any thoughts. Thanks for the great video. 👍.
Good job
Where can I get the squeeze play tool.
I have a metal door on my apartment, and I want to install a dead bold mul t lock.
the squeeze play sells between $200 & $300.... so
very nice. if i want to cut a rectangle opening at the metal door frame, what tools should i use?
Hi sir well done job I was wondering if you could share the link to buy the squeeze play jig?
Im Boreing the 2 1/8 metal doors residential I tried the a few cheapo kits. The $20 masterforce set template is more solid tool but the hole saw not carbide. In a week I broke 3 pilot bits. Most residential metal doors dont have wood blocks or theres only partial blocks. Sucks because the 1/4 bit has no solid hold and suddenly takes off and breaks the bit ripping a GOUGE. So i had to reverse the drill. Useing half inch drill with side handel.
Any help please.
Arlon Meranden sounds like you are using way too much pressure! We talked about this today during Saturday Morning Live 11 located here starting at the 55:30 minute mark. ruclips.net/video/Wh4TunSBOQk/видео.html
Lighten up that pressure for sure, you don’t need carbide bits the Milwaukee or Lenox BiMetal bits are perfectly fine.
When you start getting close to going through be prepared and flex up!
50 year old Schlage deadbolts with plastic still on them? 🤣 Nice work on the door though, and good to see the Squeeze Play in action after hearing so much about it 😊
Highly educational -- thanks for sharing!
you need to get a Jackson compliant dash cam mount. The image is shaking when you drive on those roads
Looks a time consuming fitment Jason but it certainly gives a very secure and quality finish to the lock,.Just a question though why does the frame not have a plate fitted to strengthen the post hole?
no valid option available for that :( There are dust cups (thimble strikes) but they do absolutely nothing (besides be a dust cup) and can cause problems. You could cut out a section of frame and mount a strike plate but that would actually just weaken the area. Especially given how tight these doors were
Thanks for watching and good question :)
Is that door installed backwards? What's the point of a deadbolt when the hinge pins can be knocked out?
most of those types of doors have NRP (non removable pins) or the little tabs inside that keep it from opening
@@selock Ah I see. Ty for that. Great video btw.
What was that tool you're using to press in the side of the door?
It’s literally in the title google Squeeze Play lock tool
Nice job! Thanks for posting.
Nicely done though Jason my friend👍😊😊👍😊😎
How can i countersink on the side of the door without that tool you used?
What is the template you used to mark the centers called and where do you get it?
SuperJustinhunter HPC (Hudson) Easy Backset Marker :)
That equipment u used at 40.0 looks complex af
Where are you buying that tool
Looks like you use the same organization technique in your truck as you do in the toolbox.
What was that tool you used to press the metal door in for the strike plate?
36:47 I need to buy one of those lol
where can i get this device your using?
DeadlyVenomKing google Squeeze Play Lock mortise thing
Great cheap tool to pick up. Harbor Freight’s Automatic center punch. I must have 10 of them spread in every tool box I use. .$2 on sale often.
Very informative. Thanks
If the drill gets hot, try a little cutting fluid? (Magic Tap, etc.)
way too messy to do on doors when cutting in the vertical position :) Thanks for watching!
How often do you change your hole saws example: 400 installations
Zachary Linton When it stops cutting or you try to cut stainless steel. Whichever comes first.
Where would I buy a Squeeze Play?
This was super helpful for me, now where can I buy some of the tools you used lol
Cute doggies!
Did the dogs eat the fantastic wonderful tool roll you got a while back? It hasn't been seen since you unboxed it.....
It has my open end wrenches and a few other odds and ends in it right now :) I'll have to make sure and do a follow up to that soon ;)
what hapend to the happy Friday stuff
caveman Sparks I was fighting literally all day long to get this one uploaded :(
HAPPY FRIDAY ... uhhh yesterday ;)
looks good!
This guy is exactly what is wrong when people try and help others on youtube!!! Just get to the point of sharing knowledge!! I don't care about grape jelly or BBQ!!
Go cry somewhere else
If he had inserted vlog in the title I would’ve gone elsewhere. He didn’t do that so it’s a waste of my time and others who think the same!!
Believe me I’ll never come back!!!
@@newvibes789 bye 🙄 I’ll still be glad to give you a tissue before you go
Looks like a fiddly pain in the ass. Lots of prep work and actual work. Must cost a bit for the client to have these locks installed in their crappy steel doors.🤔🍺😎
Done without any installation kit
Not bad
A 6-point socket would have been preferable to the 12-point socket. Knipex pliers are quality made. Another Channel did a test of a Knipex tool with other brands of course and they came out on top. Might have been wire strippers. It's a Channel i don't watch much because the guy talks a mile a second and has an annoying voice. Only reason i watched was a saw Knipex.
bondo and paint if door bends a little.
Nice work but very long video.
Francisco Cardoso da Cruz thanks, we don’t make short videos here
27min until you start on the door lol
Raul Vasquez we aren’t allowed to make short videos
@@selock oh man I didnt realize that. Good video tho
First! And first like too!
Skip through the video to 27:35 Minutes/Seconds if you actually want to see what the video “Subject” is about... The first part is all Rubbish... Pardon my French... LoL. Greg
Thought I was the only one who had an issue with all the time on spent before the actual install...🙄
So FF is broke on your RUclips? Might wanna get that fixed 🤷♂️🤣
