Andrew Shaw Well i have the official console version of the original game and it most certainly does NOT have challenges. Whoever you downloaded that emulator version from must have put the challenge mode hack in as an extra.

I like this one a lot, some are very hard challenges, i havent seen some of those levels like mushroom hill, sandopolis or flying battery.I still have to beat this game, cant even get to the end on some levels.

I didn't know i needed to press up or down, i could only with sonic pass trought that by glitching... I need a bubble shield or flame shield then just spam the special attack and u get past trought ... that how i always did ... i kinda think its faster anyway ... My dad used tails to fly up then drop sonic there ....

I've played this game a shit tonne and this whole video went off without a hitch from start to finish, some of those strats aren't 100% consistent, so this is either a very lucky WR or slightly tool assisted. Big arm insta-shield and Doomsday and robotic Knuckles fight look major suspect, and the consistency of the knuckles climb trick...
