Love this song! The chorus is so catchy! Love the instrumentation and the armenian part in the end the most. Excited about the staging! Wishing all the best for her!
First time I listen to this song, didn’t like it, second time liked it a little bit, third time I felt in love with it. It is really beautiful! I am really looking forward to see how she delivers live and how they are going to stage it, but it could be epic!
I think it's the most organic song I'm listening to with a rap on it. One of the best instrumentations of the edition. How Armenia can give you a song with 10 composers one year, and the next year, a young singer-composer with this very interesting piece of art, she made it herself, I read somewhere, so kudos to her! It's a qualifier and a contender for top10 or higher.
Oh, finally my country 🇦🇲! Loved your review for Rosa last year, and absolutley love this one. I personally am not a fan of rapping in songs in particular, but this one just works; and if you follow her discography, this song is quite faithful to Brunette as an artist. I love the honesty and rawness of the lyrics, sure it is not everyone's cup of tea, but when it hits you, it hits you hard. As for the song structure, I agree that it needs a few more listens to appreciate it as a whole. The repeated verse "Be good, do good, look good" was a choice -- as it is meant to be a manifestation, or a mantra of some sort, and I find them to be powerful. All biases aside, I know that Brunette is an excellent performer, and wherever she finishes on the scoreboard this year, I'd be very proud of her, and of our team for taking another approach to give small artists in Armenia a platform to explore their artistry. Love that almost everyone in Armenia is very excited and supportive of our entry this year. Again, thanks for the reaction, Rachel 💓
I am surprised how much I enjoy this song. It gets through to me on a gut level. Maybe it is her vocal, which is so true and engaging. I believe her every emotion, and the music does everything it can to simply keep up!
I love the orchestral arrangements in it and the melody is very pretty. When the singer sings the part in Armenian I feel like my soul left my body. :-) It also sounds very contemporary. I think people are slightly sleeping on it, I can see it finishing very high in the contest.
I absolutely love this one and it was something that hit me really unexpected. Her voice, the harmonies, the (for me at first listen quite unexpected) rap part, the orchestra, … - it is all literally perfect for me and in my opinion a masterpiece❤️. I again thank the ESC so much that I discovered a new artist I really love now through this contest. And as always, thank you Rachel for your nice, respectful and musical reaction and analysis of thie song. I am very glad you like it.
I really thought nothing would mess with my TOP 3 as this song was released pretty late...but yeah...this is my number 1 right now. I was shocked after first listen, shocked, overwhelmed (but in a good way) and amazed. I never expected that kind of song. And as I am a sucker for emotional ballads, that went straight to the top of my eurovision rank.
Masterpiece, Rachel. It’s right up there in my top four favourites. The thing that strikes me most about this song is the arrangement - starting with her laying out her requirements for a lover, and all the things they’ll do together, before BANG! “Three minutes making impossible plans; seven minutes of unnecessary panic attacks”. Who doesn’t identify with any of that? It’s the only song this year that does something to me that none of the other 36 do, and I can’t even describe what it is 😆 It certainly should do good 👍
This was one of the last songs to be released. I was cocky and thought "looks like no song will make me turn on the waterworks this year." Armenia: (sings about love in a way that is totally relatable to me) Me: Dammit. (sniffle) I do love how it starts all sweet and innocent (Amelie is a perfect reference here), but then goes into a more stormy-rappy direction and ends with that epic orchestral line. Fantastically composed, possibly the best this year musically. I really hope she gets appreciation for it. Don't see why not, but ya never know!
@@ThePeaceAround They really are, and the music's change of dynamics and style are so reflective of how what she's singing about feels sometimes. I'll assure you, though - I'm doing fine 😊 I'm up to a lot this year, so all's well.

I really like this song. The blend of smooth vocal, piano and orchestra is beautiful and brings something different. I don't mind the drum machine, I feel it's part of the song's story, an interlude before the piano finale. The video is great. Fascinated to know how it'll be staged for Liverpool. Great insights as usual, thanks Rachel.
I just want to sorry for my last comments. After watching around 10 times your reaction for Armenia, and watching more than 60 time the music video by itself, not include Spotify, finally I listened to song with headphones, then I heard the drum you are talking about. You are right about that, I wish it was real, but it doesn't change that, this song is beautiful, and I am going to listen to it all the time. I feel as though this is one of the songs, once again, where if anybody did criticise it too much they could expect a good deal of vitriol coming their way. I'm not absolutely in love with this track but it is growing on me and I like how atmospheric it is. I'm not sure it's going to be a contender for the win but it could well be Armenia's best result for many years.
Thanks for the reaction video Rachel. I also enjoy this it’s currently my number 12 in my top 37. It’s unusual and different. I’m slightly worried for it because it’s in the death spot in semi final 2. And since 2017 nobody in either semi final has ever qualified from the death spot. Last year both Latvia and Israel were hoovered up by the death spot. But Armenia is such a strong song that I’d expect it to be the first time in several years that something can overcome the curse of the death spot. But I’m still speaking with caution because we all know the reputation of the death spot☠️
@@HopefulInterventions The death spot is a nickname for second place in the running order in the Eurovision semi finals. This is because it has the worst qualification record when compared to other places in the running order. Also nobody has ever won Eurovision from the second spot. I think that it might be because often a powerful performance is selected to open the show that tends to eclipse the song that comes after it.

At the end even if you gave score 1/10, still I wouldn't mad at you, because I know it comes from knowledge you have in this field. About fake drum, I believe Armenia used timpani instead of drum, and I think timpani is more suitable instrument in orchestra rather than drum by itself. I am not sure, maybe I am wrong. Maybe you need to give Armenia another look, it could change your score to 9 or higher. Anyway, not many good reactor in this field in RUclips, but you are one of the best. Since you talked about Rosa Linn in your video, maybe it is good to go over her new music video (Never Be Mine), I think you will love it. Just let us know. Thank you for your reaction.
Some of these elements feel a little clunky to me, but overall I think this is a really good effort. It's quite experimental and very unique, that last chorus really sells it for me. I kinda wish all the choruses were in Armenian actually, the 'be good do good look good' feels a bit odd. I haven't come back to this song much, but it could grow on me even further. Good staging could put this in my top 10 totally. Also I just wanna clarify, you say finishing off with Germany? There's also Azerbaijan, Georgia and Iceland if you mean finish the reactions aha
I like this song well enough. The orchestration is really good but as someone who works a lot with digital orchestral samples some of it sounds kinda fakey to me? Especially in the first chorus, the horn sounds like the default horn from Garageband without any expression/dynamics added to them, which is weird as there was an entire orchestra in the video. I dont know if they are actually samples but some of it just sounds off to me
Even if it’s a sample, I think it still sounds ‘real’ enough. Unlike Romanias plastic trumpets. Will give another listen to see what you mean though :)
Production sounds a bit thin to me... Tinny, like the video also looks.. The chorus is better in Armenian. I think it will hit harder on the live stage though!
