Once crossed the Lindesfarne sands, at Easter, with a group of 200 people. Cold when we started out ( takes 2-3 hours walking across sands ). Well it started to hailstorm half way. The hail was just like someone sticking loads of pins in your face, (cheeks and brow area not covered in glasses or scarves ). Felt like your journey was similar, but more challenging on the sea, than walking on sands. Well done. Glad your boat was ok.
Sorry the marina wasn't there. A bit like camping on Alderney, rain, wind and we stayed sitting in the toilet block all night, as wind was shredding tents and the warden, was visiting hospital on the mainland. Glad you got to marina eventually. We stayed in a B& B eventually on Alderney & we just slept exhausted for 12 hours. ( Had a journey like yours to France, was so rough we had to climb up harbour steel ladders, on our return ). Makes you appreciate the smoother journeys. Best wishes .
