It bothers me that the Borderlands movie is rated PG-13. If I want to watch some family friendly Borderlands content, I'll just watch a Joltzdude video.
3:47 there you can clearly see that the Draco dropped, but someone wouldn't believe me at first during the stream. Anyways, lots of love and mistakes/confusions happen . Also, I love that you can farm super rare gear early on that you otherwise wouldn't use in a noemal playthrough
Man I was using the oasis fast travel mod all these years where you had to load into a custom map and then travel to the dlc locations. Good to see this mod now
Idk ur previous computer experience, but don’t let yourself too overwhelmed at the start with installing mods. When it works it’s fun but debugging what’s wrong or where a file should be can be confusing. Good luck
I've played and loved BL1 ever since its release, and I had no idea until today that Rakinishu had a chance to drop The Sentinel lmao, I thought it was just purely for the Cracked Sash. You truly never stop learning about these games
You have to beat specific missions that give the item as quest reward to get the quest reward as a drop for specific named enemies, so it's understandable why people wouldn't come back to farm them when they aren't much different from purple gear.
It would also be awesome if someone would expand on that and make it a map style similar to bl2. Without knowing the game inside and out (i know the base game and General Knoxx like the back of my hand but Ned and Claptrap are less done by me so still fuzzy) it can be really hard to navigate to where you want to be. That would also mean someone would have to a make a map of Pandora and I doubt it would line up to BL2 and BL3 version of the planet
Oh damn, a classic, OG borderlands mod. I was afraid I was going to get SSE'd again, but I guess the GOTY version is just hard to work with. Good for someone with an ancient copy.
I’d love to see you do a BL1 run with this mod, as you said in the vid this is how you like to play borderlands and would make for better videos as well since you’re not constantly speeding through levels and certain parts of the story to get the gift shop, you’re able to take things a little slower, farm bosses you usually wouldn’t to get guns youd never use cause they’d never drop
To be completely honest, what made Borderlands 1 so amazing to me, was the fact that I didn't have to farm any specific boss for a particular weapon. I loved being able to just play through the game and never know what Legendary I could get from a loot source. It made it more fun, more random, and different with every playthrough. Sure I farmed the typical places like New Haven and the Gift Shop chests, but I also just played through and used what I got. And what's sad to me, is I'm probably in a very small minority of people that liked this aspect.
The fun thing is, unless the developers decide that the grind is more important then the fun, dedicated drops don't do anything against your preferred way of playing. The general loot pool should look the same. It's too bad that we've seen too many examples of recent games where the grind is more important.
@@leadpaintchips9461 If I wanted a Bulldog in Borderlands 1, I could farm it anywhere. It had no dedicated drop source. If I wanted an Infinity, I had to farm Doc mercy. Yes, I could get the Infinity from any suitable loot source, but because of the increased drop chance from Doc, that's where it almost always came from. That's not fun to me. That's my point, if it wasn't clear.
@@gringo335 So I had this whole long, and if I'm being honest slightly condescending, response typed out and near the end of it I realized that having dedicated drops being a toggle at character creation in a looter would be _amazing._ Making it so that dedicated drops instead have the odds be a drop out of the general loot pool would be cool for a challenge run.
@@leadpaintchips9461 Seeing as how they changed how loot drops with BL3, this kind of idea would be amazing indeed. Instanced versus everyone sees the same drops. I don't see this idea as something for a challenge run, but more like I said, it's just more fun to me. Like, I could literally beat the game with non-unique purples and blues instead of hoping for a certain legendary to help me coast through things. Condescending or not, you are entitled to your opinion. I appreciate the realization and choice not to put it out there, but for conversation sake, I'm a little curious as to what it was now.
@@gringo335 It's a challenge because giving dedicated drops is easier then everything in one loot pool and praying RNG is extra favorable. It enables people to actually get builds and playstyles that they want to play in a reasonable time instead of having to deal with something that they find less fun. As to what I was originally was going to post, it was full of snide comments about lack of restraint on your part because every game that I've played had optimal farming sites for general loot drops. But I'm a huge advocate for giving players levers to customize their game experience to be the most fun for them, and making it a character creation toggle would be giving that option to players.
Super glad to see I feel like this mod adds some pretty good replay ability to bl1 remember when bl3 didn’t have dedicated drops and it practically killed the game until they came back
2 weeks ago I started a goal of dropping every Unique Guns in this game. I was struggling to get the Reaper (my final legendary) and finally got it 3 day before the release of this video. Dropping only 1 peal in 284runs of Craw kind started to get kind of boring. This mod is a blessing, can't wait to try it !!!
What they should do to make getting a specific legendary EVEN MORE convenient is place a button next to the fast travel that drops the legendary you want on the first try. That way you wouldn't even NEED to farm.
I think borderlands 1 has the best weapons in the franchise, the way they look and feel are great except for strafing around is kinda crazy but I really enjoy the more realistic look the guns had so I cannot wait to start a new character and run this mod. Thanks for making it happen.
My friend got a reaver’s edge-penetrator hybrid just the other day without knowing what it was. Needless to say I was a little upset, but more so I was hyped for the drop.

Been playing with the mod for a few days and loving it! A few bits of feedback/bug reports: -Please make mothrakk's drops not exclusive to that boss, he is cancer to kill and cancer to find his loot afterwards. -It would be nice to roll some bug fixes in to this mod, especially for incorrect rarity and names for certain legendaries, but also for maybe things like bugged talents (i'm looking at you rapid reload). -Many of the weapons spawned by this mod have "INVALID" somewhere in their name, seems to only be with legendaries dropping from their listed source. -Could there maybe be some small shortcuts added to the maps with particularly lengthy boss runs? Headstone Mine's run to sledge is like 5 mins.. you could put a small box near the dropdown to the door you unlock after beating him for the first time or something like that? All of these comments are coming from a place of deepfelt gratitude, this mod is amazing.
This is honestly amazing might try a new playthrough with this. I still prefer the way the original game handles drops since it made certain weapons super rare and added to the chase for me, the dopamine hit when getting a pearl, or reaper, or legendary eridian was amazing. This is definitely gonna add some replay value for people who preferred the way BL2 and BL3 handled things.

It would be more fitting for Rakkinishu to drop something with Shock damage. He is reference to the enemy Rakanishu from Diablo 2 who is Lightning Enchanted and can kill unprepared players pretty quickly.
Can someone explain to me the appeal of dedicated drops? The thrill of BL1 to me was the fact that you didn't know what you were gonna get and it was a defining moment when you got some random legendary that carried you through. Idk, I've always liked the random thrill of legendaries, I know I'm in the small minority but I found it took out an aspect of the fun for me when I knew where to get everything I needed, never having to rely on something random.

That loot table warrants without your input that you switch it up more often Dedicated loot sources are great for build crafting so I agree they’re more enjoyable but damn. while agree bl2 is the best game in the series my favorite game is still bl1. i feel the later games are more cartoony and the weapon system is the best in one to me. if you like the other games that's cool. i just prefer the darker grittier feel of the first game.
Its been awhile since i played but a balance mod for loot would be great with this, if i remember in bl1 theres not alot of legendarys and most are meh or busted good. A cool mod that should come out it a checklist mod, like a ingame menu that lets you see all the legendarys youve gotten or hybrids or pearls.

Yea... BL1 is weird with some dedicated drops. They normally can't drop until you're level 50+
If you check the lootlemon it'll tell you where they drop from.
The dlc fast travel is awesome, means farming for the Ajax ogre less tedious

It's so awesome the BL1 scene is still alive! It's my favourite Borderlands game, so seeing it still get love is amazing!

It's been a really long time since I've played BL1. I had never really farmed anything in it, so I didn't realize that a lot of things didn't respawn.

There are no unique class mods other than the Knoxx ones, so most likely not. Increased chances for them would be cool though.
