- I'm really excited to start uploading videos again.
This is my performance of Andrew York's most famous guitar piece titled Sunburst. I recorded it recently at Rokit Studios in West London. The recording and video engineering was done by Mark Rose.
I really love this piece of music and it was one of the pieces I heard very early in my journey as a classical guitarist, and as such it inspired me very much to learn the instrument. I must give credit to Andrew York here for writing this fantastic piece of music, as well as many other great pieces, and for him being a really high quality guitarist, composer and educator. He is an inspiration to me on many levels. @AndrewYorkguitar
I've also enjoyed many of the excellent videos of this piece already uploaded to youtube, particular those by John Cesar @Guitarsalon , and Tavi Jinariu @CordobaGuitars , Li Jie @cristtadivariuss , and Magdalena Kowalczyk whose channel I seem unable to tag.
For this recording I borrowed a guitar from a good friend called Daniel Bronziet. He lent me a lovely guitar made by Mario Aracama. It was Mario's Concert Guitar model made in 2011. It has a cedar top, indian rosewood back and sides, and was made in Granada, Spain.

Sunburst is a real favourite of mine and you played it beautifully. I would like to learn to play the piece but It is too hard for me to tackle with my old arthritic fingers.
Thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoyed my version of it. I first played it around 25 years ago when I was working in Insurance and dreaming of being a musician. It took me that many years to get around to record it! 🤦♂️ sorry to hear about your fingers. I hope you still find the joy of playing and listening wherever you can.
