    Fei Fei is my girl, I so needed this solo debut, because my energy levels for Miss A is almost maxed out because they;re guaranteed not to be the same anymore with Jia gone, so I'm proud of this mv...Fei literally embodied sex, and made it look expensive too. 😲

    basically Zhoumi, Fei, victoria, Lay, and cao Lu (fiestar)support china claiming the South China Sea as Chinese territory. On top of that, the sns picture they posted basically translates to "china can be no less" and includes places like Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand. Basically alot of South East Asia. This post is pretty offensive to many SE Asians, Filipinos, and people pro Taiwanese independence (think to why Tzuyu of twice got alot of hate from China). Obviously, kpop is huge in SEA and these other regions and the support for this chinese Political/ territorial movement is very controversial. That's why people are hating so much. Many SE Asian fans (including myself), think it was pretty tactless of these idols to be vocal of this political view, knowing they have loyal fans outside of china. Many Koreans are also upset too. I think it's completely justified to boycott, because what they support really hurt SE Asian fans, but going onto their videos and calling them racial slurs and giving them death threats is completely unwarranted. Really, all i hope you guys understand is that what they did was pretty hurtful to people from that part of the region, and people who do not want to support these idols are doing it with a justified reason, not something "petty". People who aren't from that region of the world just see the people boycotting as petty but seriously if you aren't from that region then you won't feel the offense we felt. Even though i don't support fei's debut, I obviously won't force others to boycott her, it's my personal choice because her actions cut deep for me. Hope I explained the severity of the situation ok.

    • @healingv1sion
      @healingv1sion 8 лет назад +8

      thanks for clarifying! so idols can get hate for being anti china (like tzuyu) and pro china (like fei and zhoumi, etc) I really don't think it's a celebrities place to even comment on political issues, especially in kpop where anything you say is going to offend some group (that is if you care about the fanbase and how they will react) a boycott in this situation is completely understandable.

    • @HinataJD
      @HinataJD 8 лет назад +11

      +healingv1sion I knew about the situation but your statement brought light to something I never thought of. Whether they were Pro or Anti, they were unfortunately gonna get massive hate for it.
      People were complaining on what side they were on, them being Chinese raised/schooed in China it was quite expected of what their opinions would be on the matter. But there's also the fact that if they're actually against their country's belief I mean... they'd become a disgrace to their own people. The rest of the world will see them as great people, but imagine your own people turning against you, banning you. They're in a really tough situation and tbh it's the peoples/fandoms/k-netz faults for pressuring them on choosing sides. It would've been better for music/idol life to not get involved and keep their political views to themselves w/ them being active in a music industry that's loved from all over Asia as I see it.
      I may not agree on their opinions, but politics and music are on two different spectrums. I am absolutely in love w/ Fei's solo debut and her political views has nothing to do w/ it.

      They should have stay silent, that the problem here. They are public figures, and whatever they said will have consecuences, is not fans that mixed politics and the music industry, they were the ones that did it.

    • @nguyengirl7684
      @nguyengirl7684 8 лет назад +2

      ***** here's my thing, why not stay silent? well ok maybe they'd be chased down by chinese netizens to speak up, to where the individual would choose between satisfying their chinese fans or fans outside of china. These people are adults, and they made a decision to make their political stances known. Fully knowing that they would get backlash from non chinese fans for doing this.They should know the consequences of doing this, and looking at both decisions they chose to satisfy chinese netizens. Which is their personal choice,and we can't argue with that. But at the same time, SE Asian fans feel compromised. It's more than just fei supporting her country, to SE Asians. It questions are national identity, our culture, and the fate of many SE Asian fishermen who have been out of job due to China's actions. it's a slap in the face. Especially, and i hate to call her out because i am a MeU, Victoria, who posted it on her instagram. Instagram is not even accessible to most Chinese people, why instagram when she has a weibo or whatever, she really wanted us to know her stance. Which is her decision if she wants this but she's the one mixing politics in her professional career. overall it's just really messy and i can't look at any of them the same way again.

    • @jrt231
      @jrt231 8 лет назад +13

      +pautoyou u Even if they had stayed silent, C-netizens would still be harassing them and calling them traitors for not supporting their country. I understand that the fans are hurt, but that does not give them the right to write racial slurs against the artists in the comments.

  • @teenagefirework1

    The reason Fei's MV is getting a lot of dislikes is because Southeast Asian fans are upset that she posted in support of China's claim of the entire South China Sea. The Philippines won the case in the United Nations but China refuses to acknowledge and respect the U.N.s decision, claiming the entire sea is there's, which is absurd. Fei and every other C-Idol changed their profile photos to a poster supporting China's refusal to abide by the U.N., the poster reads "China Cannot Lose One Centimeter". Fei and a few other C-idols could have stated their opinions on weibo but they chose to post it on Instagram (which is blocked in China) to voice their true opinions. SEA fans make up a big percentage of K-pop fans, so they are angry that these C-Idols are blindly nationalistic without thinking of their overseas fans, and the fact that China has killed a lot of fishermen from these SEA countries. China is also in dispute with Japan and Korea so K-netz have no interest in Fei's solo debut either. So while I don't condone death threats toward these C-Idols, I have zero sympathy.

      @SMAnthonyW 8 лет назад +12

      Wow. So much false information. PLEASE READ MY POST SO YOU CAN STOP BEING A BROKEN RECORD.
      -Fei did NOT post the photo on her Instagram. You can literally go check it right now. Only Zhoumi and Victoria posted the photo on Instagram.
      -It was actually NOT a United Nations tribunal that handled the case, but an international court. The United Nations was not involved in the verdict, and the UN actually confirmed this themselves.
      -China is NOT currently in a heavy dispute with Korea or Japan. Those three countries have always had political tensions with one another, and China with SEA as well. This is nothing new.
      Please stop spreading these rumours and garnering more hate for Fei. You don't even know what you're talking about. If you're going to be a sheep, at least know what the hell you're following... like. The fact that you think Fei posted it on her IG ALONE makes you phony af. You didn't even bother checking... because why? You wanted to hate on her because everyone else is? That's pathetic.

      Fei DELATED it after ALL THE HATE, she recived because of that, so people saying she did not, SHOULD STOP. China have started reclaiming other countries because they think all belongs o them!!, and NOT the first time china have claimed japan and SK, that why japanese and koreans are saying they will be next if they let China do whatever they want to.

    Chinese idols( Zhoumi, Fei, victoria, Lay, and cao Lu) made a huge mistake by posting on instagram their support for chinese invasion to other SEA countries, ( Mostly philippines, thailand, Malaysia, vietnam, japan and even korea). In my opinion they should have stay silent about all this stuff. Know they are loosing most of their fans from does countries.

    If I remember this correctly, Fei, Zhoumi, and Victoria are getting hate for supporting China regarding the South Chinese Sea situation. Idk what Zhoumi and Fei said exactly about it and idek if Victoria spoke up about it or not. I'm not sure what they're trying to say but some think they're using their popularity or something. So far I've been seeing a bunch of people saying that they have the right to dislike their videos to get it to them for whatever reason. Idk how to explain it but Vietnamese fans said that China has done bad things to Veitamese fishermen so ,in their minds, Fei, Zhoumi, and Victoria not only believe that South Chinese Sea belongs to China but also support what China does to Vietnam. I guess I know the gist of it. I'm sure someone else has a better explanation and knows better than me.

    Just to clarify, there's a difference between what zhoumi and Victoria did and how they chose to show their stance vs what fei and jia did. Fei and jia posted their support on their weibo accounts only, so it was only meant to be seen by Chinese fans. Zhoumi and Vic posted on ig, an international platform where all of their fans could see. I'm Filipino, and while I'm not mad at any c-idols that have spoken up about this, it felt like because that was their stance they think of their SEA fans as lesser because of what China's been doing to SEA countries and their people. Kfans have never cared about us, but it's China so when do they ever get along, and it feels like Ifans don't want to bother learning about SEA countries relations to others because they only care to learn about Korea since they're into Kpop.
    Regardless, the song was amazing and I'm so impressed how fei could make dancing with a hula hoop so enticing. Easily one of my favorite songs and dances of 2016.

    • @PaperServant
      @PaperServant 8 лет назад

      +and because other fans aren't caring for SEA fans for the right reason, it felt like we only had ourselves to blame since no one was willing to say anything.

    Since many people would say Fei and others were being nationalists,it just makes me smile cause I don't think anyone here knows China's political climate.
    Simply put even if Fei was against the Claim and voiced it she could be as good as gone
    Cause let's not forget CCP(communist Chinese party)is the same party which rules China with an iron fist,this is the same nation with human rights violations in Tibet,the same where Muslims are being sent to concentration camps and Internet speech is restricted.Forget that this is the same place which didnt even refrain from shooting its own citizens(Tianamen square)
    Fei going against any of China's actions would have seen her career end in China and maybe even killed cause CCP already has done way worse
    Guys understand the whole picture and don't just hate for no reason

    The controversy is that China claims all of the South China Sea which includes the oceans around Vietnam, Philippines, and Borneo which has no historical precedence. These oceans are "International" and are trade routes for millions of ships from and to the Middle East and Europe. China is claiming this area just because it is named, "South CHINA Sea" - which is ridiculous. If they can claim it, they will be able to control all the shipping lanes from Europe and the Middle East to South Korea, North Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, far east Russia and Vietnam.
    As a result, Southeast Asian nations took China to international court at the U.N. As expected, China's claims were unfounded and so the U.N. ruled against China. Of course, China is calling, "foul", and that Western powers are trying to keep China's influence down - which is true, but not because we don't like China, only because they are being unreasonable.
    The Chinese government is allowing nationalists to paint this ruling into a call to "ARMS" - which is only fueling more hatred towards the West. The reason why Fei and some of the other Chinese K-Pop stars got criticized was because they jumped on the Chinese nationalists' bandwagon and started complaining about the U.N. ruling. Moreover, they voiced their support for China's claim over the oceans near Vietnam and the Philippines. It was a smart move on the one hand, since that is what their Chinese fans were looking for. However, this political statement has hurt them with fans from South East Asia, Korea, Japan and the rest of the world - except Russia, because Russia right now is lost and confused.
    I hope this helps you understand the controversy. You guys are great! Keep up the good work!
