Hi Great to hear that you enjoyed our video We have intended on doing more this year and started taking video footage whilst on our recent trip with the intention of editing once we get back home which is our normal procedure However just 4 weeks into our 3 month trip we were involved in an road accident near Dubrovnik and subsequently had to return home earlier than planned by air whilst the camper is repatriated via land and hopefully will be in the U.K. within a few days and off to be repaired So we will have more videos in the future including the dashcam footage of the accident In the meantime it’s a great opportunity for you to binge watch some of our earlier videos 😀
It's all well and good having unmanned sites until they go wrong. We stayed on one of these in Gacé just South of Rouen. What a nightmare. The machine refused to let us out on a Sunday morning, when we had a long drive ahead of us, and no one answered the contact phone number. I eventually escaped when the Genarmes got someone out from the Council who told us the machine was faulty. No kidding! I could have told them that. They also took an extra €39 from my card, which as of today they have not paid back despite my email request to do so. I won't be using one again.

won't last a week in the uk before it's vandalised and the pikies move in. Two van loads conned their way onto my favourite site, turned the place into a laundry. Washing machines outside, drying lines, numerous kids and more people than were paid for.
Last time we were in France (pre-corona) we noticed these getting more widespread. I can understand why, but I do miss the older, slightly chaotic type of Aire with a guardian collecting the (then) couple of euros.

The card is for the camping car park scheme in France and Spain Similar to Aires in a way but it is a company who runs the Aire/site unlike traditional Aires where they are run by the local council/communities
Oh sorry We do have a separate microphone but always forget to use it! Apart from that we do hope you enjoyed watching, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 🤩

Surely there’s room for all types of camping. Aires, Camping Carparks, campsites and P4N hideaways. We use a mix of all each has their positives & negatives.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and also for the comment It is south east of Troyes. The town is Auberive, it should show up on the camping car park website

Interesting, thanks for sharing. What website do you use to get the cards in advance and a list/map of the sites? Thanks

These are OK but I prefer to free aires with minimal facilities.
Must admit we do prefer the “original “ Aires too rather than these regimented ones but they do serve a purpose when there is not much choice

Those machines are often faulty. Sometimes you cant get out no matter what you do. Ended up on the phone for 30min.
Where was this one please?
Thanks for taking the time to watch and also for the comment
