That Jokic is a better person than other "stars" out there. Cause if these are players front office want to surround with they would have ask for a trade by now.

He’s too old school. You see these young coaches like Dagnaught and Mazulla getting the most out of EVERYONE on their roster.. Malone has only ever gotten the best out of Jokic.

I don’t know if we have learned anything. We knew going into the season they don’t have a lot of: shooting, spacing, ball handling, athleticism, versatility, veterans, trade able assets. All of those things have been proven true. They have Jokic at the height of his powers surrounded by a team that would win 15 Games without him.

Legitimate question asked by KB at 56:40. I think there's a reason why Nuggets can't find success at the backup center position. And Wind kind of nailed it. It's because we don't ever give guys like Hartenstein and Huff enough minutes to prove themselves. And the reasons why they're not getting enough looks is because we are relying way too much on the starters especially Jokic in the recent years. The front office believes Jokic is gonna play majority of center minutes anyways, so they don't bother to invest in a backup center or try to develop one (besides signing DeMarcus Cousins when Murray was injured). And this has nothing to do with the salaries or 2nd apron. Others expensive teams are able to find ways stock up or bolster their depth without spending much money on those specific players. It's about front office and coaching staff's philosophy on the rotation and willingness to actually find bigs who can play with and/or behind Jokic. Just look at the Boston Celtics for example. They have Kristaps Porzingis as the starting center. Off the bench, they have Al Horford even though he's already old and declining. Then, they have their 3rd string bigs in Luke Kornet, Xavier Tillman Sr, and Neemias Quetas who can all step up as quality backup bigs. Even though Celtics did not develop a single one of them besides Kornet, they have a pipeline of bigs/centers they can deploy in case of injuries or when Horford retires. Tillman and Quetas are both being paid $2 million annually. Just imagine if Xavier Tillman and Neemias Quetas are actually on our roster right now instead of DJ, Hunter Tyson, Jalen Pickett, or even Vlatko. That would be automatically solve our backup center problem. We have so many wasted roster spots this season. I would be disappointed if we don't a make a trade by the trade deadline. Even the Timberwolves have a quality bench depth at the front court even after trading away KAT. They have bigs in Gobert, Randle, Naz Reid, and Luka Garza.
On the Nuggets side, our bigs bench depth is AG, Jokic, and Saric??? The problem with Saric is that he can't even play next to Jokic which makes the fit even more awkward because that means we can only stagger AG. DaRon Holmes would have been one of the guys if he didn't get injured. DeAndre Jordan? I would like to think he's still "playable" but again we would never know because Malone has not played him with Russ and the rest of the bench. During the championship season, at least Jeff Green had the ability to play with or without Jokic. That's what made him so valuable that year because of his versatility on both ends of the floor. Granted, he was also getting old and declining so there was no way Nuggets bring him back the following year. This is why I keep saying we need to start playing Zeke Nnaji because he's our 6th highest paid player yet and he was supposed to be our Jeff Green replacement. Yet, he's not getting any minutes. He really should have started playing more last season, but we gradually reduced his minutes and the team just went away from him.
The coaching staff wanted to keep a short rotation and play guys who are playable come playoff time. How did that turn out for us? Surprise, surprise. We were gassed just in the 2nd round because we deliberately chose NOT to play those players including Watson who could have benefited our center bench depths. This cycle all started because we didn't play those guys enough in the regular season and allow them to play through mistakes and just be themselves. Thus, Malone opted to not use them in the playoffs. I'm not saying Hartenstein or Huff would have turn out to be good players and solve the backup center issue on the Nuggets, but we did not give them the opportunity or put them in the position to be successful. And I know Jarred Vanderbilt is injured right now, but the same can be said for him.

CB is cooking, if he is able to shoot 40% when wide open, we might have something...I have no believe it will happen, but one can see the path to success (last two season, unguarded shooting, 10%). If Jok becomes 40% volume shooter and AG maintains his 40% (he can actually hit, he's not guarded, on small volume), we can actually put together some kind of spacing. Still need PWAT to step up, trade Westbrook and hope Strawter isn't sure basket on defense and we have 7 guys...so even if everything breal right way we only have 7 guys...

On Saric and giving it another look - I'm sorry, but what other look is there? Zeke? Vlatko? DAJ? Neither of those are NBA players. You really gonna play an eight man rotation five games into a season?

When you look back Hartenstein in Denver was OK, but he was always for some reason in DNVR show. He played some games and in 30 games Nuggets were +1 with him for 9 min at the floor, he was not spacer, and he could not create for himself, but he was one of the best shoot blocker in Nuggets recently.
Saric is for 9 min almost -9, and he is washed completely. Zeke should play as good defender, and guy with some energy. Strawther is horrible defender (last year he was terrible on +/-, even if he shoot good) and Saric too, identity of second unit should be defense. I am thinking that Watson can be the best defender on the team and I want more minutes with him and Braun with Jokic.
Now some terrible trades for Nuggets (C) in history:
Pick and Nurkic for Plamlee (Portland was better right away, and they missed play off)
Hartenstein and 2 round for McGee (nobody play as back up C this season- but Hartenstein had more potential)
Bryant for Bones and picks for Bryant (lost picks and talented player for nothing)
Malone is awful coach he can not make good bench line-up every year in Jokic prime.

We have learned that the Nuggets finally have a player in Russell Westbrook who can timely pass the ball to Jokic under the basket. That means more free throws for Nikola in the future, his faster pass to the 3-point shooter. We also learned that Jokic's good 3-point shoot percentage means more space for Strawther, Braun and Westbrook to attack the paint. Overall, the offense should be more fluid and faster. On defense, Russell, Brown and Gordon should play as much as possible with Jokic. Russ, Strawther, Braun, AG, Jokić, it looks like the best Nuggets' five to me, for now.

Basically today show is about two dudes trying to talk each other in to this season DN team..By pushing some insane takes with a lot of hopium ..
While there is a clear deficiencies from 3 point shouting to clear decline in depth and Jamal and MPJ taking step back instead of forward this year..
Also criminal exploitations of Jokic prime from front office for player development bad untreadable contracts and going chip in general.
This season is at best first round exit.. Having hard time with injured bad teams that and wining against them in OT we are back at Bol Bol Facu years.. its kind over.. :P

Guys, don't you think we beat the T-Wolves last year if we had Westbrook? We couldn't get the ball up the court against their amoeba defense. Russ would've made them pay for pressing, and caused them to fall back. Then it would be back to reality. We'd beat them like we did in 23 playoffs. Thoughts?

“I think they’re not gonna have a choice” (but to give Jokic MVP) said in the background bc his numbers are gonna be so insane.
That won’t be true if Nuggets not a top3 seed though bc this year unlike 21-22 there are other dope candidates on teams who are prob top3 seeds.
Not saying that’s how it should be, but remember Wilt averaged 50 & 25 but lost MVP to Russell bc on better team (granted he had insane numbers too) and players voted on it back then not media.
Right now (before Wednesday nights games at least) basketball reference MVP Tracker had it
    SGA (34.9%)
    Chet (21.1%)
    Tatum (17.6%)
    AD (11.2%)
    Jokic (6.2%)
AD & Tatum lost tonight though so that could move Jokic ahead of them.
SGA & Chet could cancel each other out too. All 5 are currently above .30 WS/48 which is ELITE (Jokic 5th but may be 3rd after his next game vs Wolves Friday).
It’s gonna prob still come down to SGA Jokic Tatum Luka at the end of the year. Lakers roster is not deep enough (bc Pelinka is a moron who gave away Caruso & Zubac and they lowballed in Kyrie trade &/or DeRozan yrs wise & had bad 2023 draft) for AD to prob be there at the end.
Chet will prob come back to reality more some at 22.
Also it’s okay to admit you want your guy to win MVP and deep down Jokic loves winning them too (like any athlete ever) although he obviously prefers to win it on 55+ win team as top4 seed.
I didn’t what Wind said he did too. Bet on Jokic SGA Luka and just hope one of them win money wise.
