As an Army vet I can definitely say I am impressed with your attention to detail on not only the watches history but the military provenance behind the piece. Your brief explanation of the special forces and Delta force was spot on!
Great video as always :) Maybe a stupid question but why did you black out Mr. Rudd´s first name when then saying it out loud within the course of the video?
At one point you talk about looking at a Submariner. Did you mean a GMT? You also mentioned two tours in Afghanistan, but then you also said Iraq. Which was it? In any event, thanks for your service, Sgt. Rudd. Any idea as to why he decided to sell it?
"Interesting that this "Stick dial" has a 3185. I was given the impression that all post 2007 "Stick dial" has the upgraded 3186 movement." ...nobody knows for sure when or how the switch occurred and Rolex (in its infinite marketing wisdom) decided against clearing the air.
I had one, too. It was a 1991 ref. 16710 “Coke” and I never should have let it go but you’re right...it is not a vintage watch. Not yet anyway...but sometime soon!
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I would tend to disagree considered the watch is iconic and hasn't been manufactured in over a decade. Not to mentioned the cost of the watch has tripled in value over that period. BTW, I have the same watch but it's a Pepsi, so I am a little biased.
Very nice watch. Mr. Rudd must have saved his Per Diem checks and coffee money to be able to pay for this watch while on active duty. Back then, I wore a Ironman Timex like most folks.
I guess he needs alimony and child support money now. "Oh look here is my DD-214, I wore this in combat can that fact increase the value"? This Cag shit stain is full of it.

Our photo editor blacked it out as a precaution prior to the recording as a preliminary security precaution
@@craftandtailored Thank you for the clarification!
Cheers..
Very cool
Glad you enjoyed it!
What is the difference between this Error Dial and The Sophia Loren?

Why would the guy get rid of it
Good vid.

Yep you are right there are two versions of the Stick dial 16710's
My 16710 error or stick dial has the 3185 movement as well.

Ilija Stojanovski course man! Glad you enjoyed it! maybe I’ll cut it all off again!
I love that GMT Master II "Coke", however a 2007 watch cannot be called "vintage watch".
This is true, its not really vintage yet!

No doubt about that... pretty cool and honored to have this one in our collection!

Hi Cam another one of your brilliant videos, It seems a great shame that a top Serviceman has to part-with such a well traveled & personal watch.
Bad ass!!!
Thanks Cam for the Shout!

...service record? Afghanistan?? Now that's what you call a desperate "provenance". Pfff.🙄
Guess the video of him wearing it in country and a direct contact to the original owner is also pretty desperate too...
