Buses at Blackett Street, Newcastle | 14/01/23

Half an hour spotting at Blackett Street at Newcastle Monument. This Street is fully served by Stagecoach Newcastle. The purpose of being here was to try and catch more ALX300's as well as showcase the two different Stagecoach brands, Local and Beachball.

This just means that more of the fleet have been to Wheatsheaf for repainting into "Local" livery (or Beachball MKII as I call it) however, it will never replace or have the calibre of legacy that Bb MKI has left behind. I remember back around 2000/2001 when the fleet switched from wearing the Hunting Stripes into Bb MKI livery. P.S at 3:53 is 24110 with 87 Newbiggin Hall via Cowgate showing on the destination blind. 😉

Yeah I had a feeling it was on the 87, but I couldn’t find its actual service information on Bus times when editing as it wasn’t tracking properly. And yes I do think it’ll be a shame to see Beachball go, but there’s certain vehicles where in my opinion Local just looks better in my opinion [E400MMC’s for example]
