- This Coral Trout had parasites all over it. This is quite common for this species of fish and we have seen it a few times over the years.

As a commercial fisherman, I can confirm that it's a vile world down there. Literally everything is eating everything alive. The things I've seen put me off eating fish indefinitely, and I lived on fish prior. Word of advice for you all: Don't buy filleted fish without seeing it whole first. 😊

@3loskeem honestly brother, I used to live on it. But when you're seeing fish come up with its guts and eyeballs sucked out and mites inside of it and it stinks, then that goes to your fishmonger to be filleted. It's just one thing of many that put me off. I never buy fish filleted now, I'll only buy fish we don't catch IF I can see it whole. I need to see its eyes and make sure they're not cloudy and there's no small holes around the stomach area where whelks have been sucking on it. I only buy wild salmon too now since I found out that farmed salmon meat is white and fatty, which obviously isn't normal, it should be deep red and very little fat.
I like to catch my own whenever possible but it isn't always an option due to my health. I'd love to find a place I could buy the whole fish!

@AG_Edgy damaged swim bladder I might add and that can be fixed if the right amount of pressure is put on the fish to get the damage from pulling it out of the water from too deep too fast the pressure change made the problem and it can solve it too
@@talravid3966you can also use a small thin pointy object that you can use to stab the fish in a certain spot to deflatre the fishes swim bladder.

That’s a tongue-eating louse! I doesn’t it the fish, and fish don’t eat them. They enter through the fish’s gills, cut off circulation to the fish’s tongue until it FALLS OUT and replaces it’s tongue. It then takes nutrients from the fish’s food. (P.S even though it’s called a “louse” it’s actually an isopod, and does not bear any particular relation to head lice)

Theres actually a parasite that will latch on to a fishes tongue and slowly eat and replace it with its own body. The fish is unaware that it is happening the whole time.
