"we way 'the grammys doesn't matter, but we all care about the grammys" that's so true I'm glad more and more people seem to at least discuss the grammy politics and how not always the winners reflect the path the music industry is taking, and in a way, if we really think about it, it can be even presumptuous for an award ceremony to have the final say on which musics and artists will be talked about for years and years to come. I also agree the Grammys should be more transparent on the criteria they use and have stricter rules on artists campaigning for their songs or albums, as if left uncheck, it'll only benefit the ones with larger budgets Something else that I think makes the conversation even harder is how a lot of music discourse online gets clouded by people focusing on numbers, on commercial success, sales, or even the social media presence a project has (like, tiktok virality) than the music itself, and while I think those things can be an indicative of what people are consuming in general, people, especially fanbases, end up weaponizing it as a way to make their favorite artist seem "more valuable" than others, and maybe it'll sound like a conspirancy, but I don't doubt some of the decisions the grammy academy has taken over the last few years, especially after that debacle with The Weeknd, is trying to have the larger fanbases in mind because they're the ones helping the organization to have some relevance, as less and less people tend do watch awards shows live and some even don't care unless they're as interested in music as much we do about Adele thanking Beyoncé, personally, I don't think it's that odd even if they are from different genres, because I feel like great artists are inspired by others no matter the genre they're in, and Adele seem to have talked multiple times how much she's a Beyoncé fan. It doesn't come across that well to say you're not as deserving as other artists, I agree, but I don't think it's that strange Great video :)
@@digitalhorizonbr thank you so much for watching!! ❤️ I agree with everything you said... Especially the part about people focusing on the commercial success of a song/album rather than the creativity of the body of work. The grammys are just weird tbh but I will be waiting to see the winners of this year's grammys💀
Yes, the Grammys are a complete ruse. It's in some Diddy lawsuits that he would guarantee someone a Grammy if they did what he wanted. It's meaningless.
@@kristallia1 wait, WHAT??? that's so shady omw As much as the institution in shady, I think it's still prestigious (like a good 67%) and saying that you're a Grammy winning artist holds some weight🤷🏾♀️
