The most amazing thing is he came out of a coma and had to learn to walk again and was told he will never play rugby again, but he proved the doctors wrong and played for another 5 years

I'd be amused if the petals of today could do that. Hardness is a state of mind combined with physicality. Let's see how long these pumped up petals would last with an old wet leather ball, playing on a rain soaked bog heap, before they popped a shoulder or pulled an over pumped hamstring. If the point that you endeavour to make is that today's game is a different game, then I would agree with you.
