Shout out to Neuro and Agent Smith for having these chats! I know they dont do well metrics-wise but I really enjoy catching up on these during my week
There's two things I don't want to see happen. First is further expansion of anti-abortion and anti-LGBT legislation. This is mostly up to states, but a Trump-in-command wouldn't definitely slow down that effort. Second is stopping support for Ukraine. I'm pretty confident the checks and balances won't extend to protecting the support.
I'm surprised agent Smith didn't watch the debate, after the last debate so radically changed the race. Neuro's fine for the "guy who doesn't pay much attention to politics" take, but I was hoping to get Smith's firsthand thoughts.
@@NeuroZerg I thought it was riveting. It's the first debate I watched all the way through. Harris' thesis re: Trump was that he was too easily manipulated, and she proved it by manipulating him live, repeatedly getting under his skin. Trump actually spoke five minutes longer than Harris: he got the final word in on every question, but I don't think it helped him as his responses just turned into ranting, all the while Harris was making a kind of face we all make when we are forced to listen to a crazy person. My impression from the reactions I saw were that Harris supporters (including myself) were thrilled with her performance, and Trump supporters were frustrated and angry, with many blaming the moderators, claiming it was three on one. So big win for Harris. I hope they do more debates.
It's interesting to think about gay rights under the traditionalist framework. They were purported to help with child rearing by evo psychologists I think? Which means forfeiting their own retirement? Or that could be why sexual orientations didn't get mentioned til the 60s-ish
